I would recommend jacking up the front end of the car too and having it level so you get more fluid out and the proper amount in there. Awesome video tho!

Great video, 2 questions though- You say at the end that you ended up adding slightly MORE than 1 qt? So I'm assuming I should grab 2 just in case, and secondly, shouldn't the car be level in order to get all the old oil out? Just curious as I'm about to do mine :)

Thank you! Yes it seems like it's common for people to add just a bit over 1 qt to get a confident full so it's good to have an extra one just in case. If you can, it's ideal for the car to be as level as possible so you know you're not over/under filling it, otherwise if you can't and you're really concerned about the oil levels, having a container where you can measure how much of the old oil comes out should give you a good gauge of how well you emptied it and how much oil to put back in.

Thak you for the video, it is really helpful. However, based on 2020 STI service manual, both fill and drain plugs should be torqued to 44.3 ft-lb.

Hey man, its been 9 months since you uploaded this video. How was that Redline 75W90 treating the rear diff?

The most important tip here is to not drain and fill the fluid of the rear diff while it's at an angle like that. You have to make sure you lift the entire car so it's level before draining and filling the fluids. If you do it the way shown in this video, you are not emptying all the old fluid, and then you are over filling the diff if you wait for it to spill out of the fill hole. This is not good. The extra pressure needs to go somewhere, and that will be the the rear diff drive shaft seals. They will break and start leaking. Please everyone, when doing rear diff, transmission and front diff fluid changes, it must be done with the car level.
