Not a lot of people realize that by continuously threatening the eyes, which can be as mild as simply covering them with your hand, you can continuously trigger them into defensive evasiveness whereby their head, and thereby their body, can be steered wherever you want i.e. pinning them to the ground... also they can be neurologically overwhelmed by "shredding" the face into becoming submissive in the fetal position. Friends of mine and I have used this to submit aggressors without causing them any damage. Tactile sensitivity and fluidity training are a must to pull this off, of course.

Absolutely correct. There is a difference however in the P.S.I. (pounds-per-square-inch) force applied. The edge of hand has a very small contact area. This translates into greater PSI, greater penetration, which together create a greater concentration of force reaching the specific nerve groups we are targeting.

YES, you pretty much showed about 4;40 one of my favorite one-hand combinations; a Tiger Claw and with the same hand, a Yoke Hand/Throat Grab. I just try to also work in a rake-down the face after the Tiger Claw's impact to get me to the throat attack position.

I am not a believer for the use of an umbrella for unstated reasons. But if it is to be used, i would replace the security snap strap with longer, wider, stronger and multiple securing snap closures, to keep the panels closed. The last thing a defender would want is to have the panels open while trying to fight off an attacker..

Even if you have been in one, that experience (unique in who is the attacker and who is the defender, on what ground/environment, under which scenario, and under what laws/rules of engagement) does not necessarily prepare you for the next. All that leaves us is to learn the most common strengths gleaned from real-events in the "best of" preparation for what will very likely be a horror show. Doing nothing is rarely a more effective option.

@@fairbairnprotocolh2h399agreed, although most people do not understand that hand to hand and knife combat is mostly a last resort option. Hence offensive and defensive techniques (the way the knife is held, etc). It seems William mostly focused on offensive approaches of fighting, giving an offensive spirit much more relevance in his teachings. Violence of action is the main reason his methods are still taught around the world! Great video btw!

Not sure how this is relevant to anything. You can't carry a knife legally in most countries of the World, so all this does is show people who have an issue to use them illegally to kill someone. Both my Grandfather and Father used to carry lock knives, I still have them, but they were for their trades. Yes, they may well have served for protection as well, but changed days.

More people carry knives as tools than as weapons. I dont exactly know why it is im watching this i have something better for self defense, but this is clearly geared towards law abiding citizens. Yeah sure some criminals are gonna see this and use it. But they also steal cars right? And they use those stolen cars in crimes right? And youre still allowed to buy a car. Literally everything out there is misused by criminals but theres no way you can justify taking away from everyone else because of it.

1) there are plenty of people viewing like myself who can legally carry a knife, 2) everyone watching this at the very least has access to a knife within their home, and 3) even if you think it is completely impractical, it is okay to still practice any martial art (think about people who do Iaido).

Finding this channel has me thinking about my father, who passed just under one year ago. A veteran of The Pacific Theater, Korea, and a few months of Vietnam, his formative years were spent growing up hard in the mountains of Western North Carolina. This type of feral upbringing saw him take to the martial arts of Judo and Defendu as if he were born to it, which culminated in the creation of a dangerous man that would suffer no fools. His military career saw him standing at just 5'5", 160lbs of twisted steel and bad intent, however I'd still probably put money on him in a 1v1 against nine out of ten yardbirds on any level 4 prison yard.

Explain the differences between the fairbairn police defendu system and the fairbairn military gutterfighting system. They were two very different systems with a different objective.
@fairbairnprotocolh2h399
@fairbairnprotocolh2h399 2 ай бұрын
Correct two very different system with different objectives. Defendu was the predecessor to gutter fighting. Defendu was a system designed for police work and was largely based on jujitsu methodology. Gutter fighting was a slimmed down jacked up step forward. I still contained some jujitsu type stuff but there was also an element that included much more harmful/lethal method and intent. A change in intent is a massive change in method. The only difference between an arm-bar and an vicious-immediate-ripping through the elbow joint dislocating ii is intent. In a police action an armbar would be used to control a man. In war, gutter fighting would use the ripped through arm to cause massive agony and to force a man into a situation where they can be just as quickly dispatched.

These knife hand to the ribs are useless. Don't understand not using fists.
@fairbairnprotocolh2h399
@fairbairnprotocolh2h399 2 ай бұрын
Knife hand attacks offer a stronger fact of penetration. High pounds-per-less square-inches that do not linger in contact with the body dump greater force into the target. Penetrating force can crack ribs at the 45 degree angle to the center-mass and crack/separate ribs at the cartilage-joint between the ribs and the sternum. However in closer inspection you will notice that I am striking along the floating rib area. This is the area I most commonly target as along this line you have the high flexibility of the floating ribs. Both of these organs reside just below and just under the 10th and 11th ribs. This flexion supports attacks to the liver and spleen. On the same line is the solar-plexus. Lateral EOH strikes generate the same force as hook-punches but offer deeper penetration. All of the aforementioned targets a highly suspectable to damage resulting from deeper penetrations of force. In order to throw a fist, the fist starts from a position exterior to the frontal-body, then comes in to land. Contrary to this opening of defensive-posture, the EOH is initiated from a position across the body then comes in. In doing so the across body arm position enhances the defensive-posture. In my experience-based-understanding of conflict I will always seek to put another grain-of-sand on my side of the scale. The above content is one way of doing that. Thanks for your comment.

If I may share some useful personal insight on the receiving end . Not in a fighting context , but occupational . As a housepainter I have had random debris and fluids shot into my eyes many times . Goggles aren't always an option when they will just get covered in paint . What happens is even if its just one eye you shut both and turn away from the source . You drop what's in your hands and bring them up to your face . It's nearly impossible to keep from doing this . Your eye starts to flutter and spasm and you literally hear a "whirring" sound from the nerves . If it's bad enough your instinct is to sit down or squat . Watch any fight footage of an eye poke , you'll see what I mean . So from a fighting standpoint , you're done for a bit

Great reminder that we don't need big movements to get big cuts . I've been cut 6 times bad enough to require stitches . Not once was the blade in somebody else' s hands . They, were either in my own hand , lying in a sink, or twice a dull putty knife just sitting in my back pocket . Try getting a pork roast and have a go at it with your carry blade . Knives are terrifying to face .
