Fairbairn Protocol's Barry Drennan provides a focused discourse regarding the generation of force and the optimization of that force in order gain the maximum transfer of force in the penetration of a target and through that the optimal use of the strike's capabilities.

I know nothing about knife fighting. This is some serious knowledge. Beware the old man with knowledge. I will pass this onto others. 👍

WooHoo, Flipping-flip-man!! I have just discovered your channel. I have been collecting the Fairbairn-Sykes & Applegate-Fairbairn knives along with Fairbairn's book and related. But what I really wanted was some instructional help with the written material. I will be cramming your videos over the coming days. Very impressed with what I have seen so far. Cheers matey... The WWII gutterfighting strikes of Fairbairn & Sykes were also taught earlier during 1920s WW1 by an American Army officer graduate of the Japanese Kodokan, named Captain Allen C. Smith , and these Jujutsu strikes were once part of the Kano Jiujitsu aka Judo training. The classic black & white action film starring American Judo shodan James Cagney , titled Blood on the Sun, demonstrates these early Kano Jiujitsu/Judo strikes through the action scenes of the film. Of course modern sport Judo has long abandoned cultivating these strikes , except in a kata taught around 4th or 5th Dan level. So if any Judoka should cultivate these strike combos they'll possess much of the original pre-WW2 Kano Jiujitsu/Judo weapons.

I get a tickle out of this video in that at one point I mix-up the targets and call the liver the spleen and vice-versa the spleen the liver. LOL

Ive studied and practiced krav and pankration for years but just got turned on to FS. Very similar no nonsense, max effect, min effort survival methodology.

Very good info. I'll add that such strikes are more potent when combined with a solid stance, leg pushing, and body rotation, maximizing those muscles and momentum. Something I can tell you already thoroughly know. I wouldn't want to be your punching dummy, even with a punching cushion.

Striking torso I prefer shoken punch from uechi ryu and reserve the shuto uchi for the vitals in the neck, jaw line and temple. I use boxing mechanics with shoken punch to torso vitals for deeper penetration.

A great training tip, courtesy of the legendary Steve Morris, is to train the fast twitch muscle spindles and the biceps and triceps tendons for max power by shaking with dumbbells around the 90 degree bend of the arm. Throw fast 3 inch punches short across the bend, like from 45 to 55 degrees, holding a weight.

Wow! Haven’t seen WW2 combatives in 15 years I did it with a man named Matt Temkin 15 years ago in a random basement in queens for like 6 months watching this makes me want to do it again. Who did you learn it from if you don’t mind me asking?

Nice post. Where did you get the skeleton 'suit' to go on the body opponent bag? I'd like to get one for mine.

Im cool with some of your videos but if i want to learn how to deliver strikes i'd take boxing and study mike tyson. That chop to the body is nonsense lol and boxers pivot their feet and rotate their hips and body for power
