Fun Fact: Grand Marshall Granz fell in love with a Mavolian woman called Medusa. In Mavolia, she is known as Lady Medusa. Granz took her home and married her. They had two half-Mavolian, half-Human children. One was Stroud a.k.a. Dark Lord, the other one was called Gurnda a.k.a. Davias. By the way, Grand Marshall Granz was a Gemma Knight and Minstrel. He would win battles through his voice alone.

I first heard this song as a midi track that was miscategorized as being from FF2 Famicom. It slapped so much, but it took years before I finally found out that it was from this game.

Omg, I had the same experience. It was listed as the Final Boss theme for FF2, right? I played through that whole game, expecting to hear it at the end, and man, was I disappointed.
