Love it. Quick question. Do you think I could work a 2.36 inch diameter round piece of wood on this machine? Round. Not square. I'm thinking square would def. be too big and I'm thinking the machine is underpowered for that big of a work piece. But 2.36 inches round? If I only have to make a couple grooves n stuff? Thanks!

Actually, the real problem is most likely your adjustment servo motor. Those magnets move over and away from the disc to change the resistance. It's going too far into the high resistance adjustment. Your adjustment cable may be broken, the servo motor is defective, or the cable is very far out of adjustment.

I installed 2 UPDUX in my 1400 SQ house and have a Master Kool type cooler and it works great. The only problem my wife has is that when you open the door the UpDux door slams down. My home is 1,150 Sq Ft. I have 1 UpDux in each of the 3 bedrooms. My setup has less air flow per UpDux. I also I have the master bedroom bathroom window open and the door into the garage open about 2 inches. That results in a relatively low air flow which means the "lid" on the UpDux is not standing straight up resulting in a more gentle closure. I suggest you refer to the information in the UpDux box or their website to find out what their recommendation is for the number of UpDux for a home your size.

Despite the 'flaw' with this I'd still love to have one. I think for someone such as myself that's a DIY'er this will be an easy fix starting with getting rid of the cause of the problem. There is no need to have 4 wheels on that trailer. Turning and twisting that assembly is what is breaking the bushings. Even highly overloaded 2 will be more than enough. I'd just convert it for 2 wheel use and be done with it.

Hello everybody! This is an unprecedented heatwave here in Southern California. The sky is obscured by smoke and clouds. The official temperature outside is 113 degrees as I write this update message. I installed a larger swamp cooler with a 1 horsepower motor. I have 3 thermometers inside my home. They show 3 different readings: 75, 80 & 83. Even if we accept the highest number that still means that my home is at minimum a full 30 degrees cooler than outside!! So, to everyone who has claimed that the blue pads do not work as well as Aspen pads, my data proves you WRONG!

Steven, at 10 grains per gallon (17 mg/L), hardness those filters will only treat between 155-300 gallons.The only ones that really work are the old school sodium exchange softeners or the acid base exchange ( commercial) exchangers which substitute hydrogen and hydroxyl ions giving you a pure water exchange. Since you did mention scale you would need many filters of the kind you are using in parallel to effectively treat the flow used ( extra contact time). And for God's sake don't let any snake oil sales people talk you into the magic magnet filters. Also having tried many evaporative cooler pads, the aspen pads are the best, much better than the blue synthetic pads. The corrugated honeycomb type pads are ok if they are VERY thick only.
@arne6787
@arne6787 3 жыл бұрын
I had two blue pads in my cooler, had to throw them out. Replaced them with the aspen. Works so much better now. Biggest problem with the blue material, it does not absorb water like a sponge. That is essential to develop the large surface area for evaporation, and prevent "channeling" which causes dry spots for hot air to be sucked in.

Steve, you came through! I had 2 up dux to install, and I'm a pretty competent home handyman. However, those clips had me baffled. Nowhere on the instructions does it state they needed to be bent around the sheet rock so I was trying to figure out how they were going to hold the system in place. Also, if you look at the installation instructions it looks like the wide part is on the outside. I like the units but the instructions are a real POS...! Thanks for the video!

Hello Jay, I had better luck with mine. I used it to make a variety of small items, including micro Christmas trees from various pieces of exotic wood. Jay Rodgers, The Nova 2 made by Teknatool is a very versatile bench top lathe with a 12 inch diameter by 16 inch length capacity and they make a large variety of chucks. I have used it to make everything from an 11 inch cap for a wooden mushroom and a 10 inch diameter acorn to a pen with a 9 mm diameter and micro Christmas trees with a 5/8 inch diameter base to Cups and small to medium size bowls. I suggest you not limit yourself at this point. The versatility of a quality bench top lathe has surprised me and given me many more opportunities to make stuff than I ever thought possible when I first bought this lathe. Happy turning sir!

@@bccie1pres Thanks but I don't really have anywhere I'd put it. That's what I liked about the Proxxon, small enough to slide out the way and dig out for a quick bit of ring making in the evening. Jay Roger's, yhat makes sense. Consider this, I bought a kit from a home improvement store near me for a 10 foot by 10 foot by 10 foot tall shed. I paid a local handyman to make a concrete base. It has 2 doors for easy access and overhead storage. Building a work bench along 3 walls with cabinets under and tool racks above could give you a well organized work and project space. There are some small woodshop guys on youtube that have some really good ideas. Have a great day and stay healthy sir!

You are not the first person to have that opinion. You are entitled to your opinion. However the series if careful measurements I have taken documenting a drop in temperatures inside my home prove your opinion to be unfounded. I will continue to use 2 synthetic pads stacked together in all 4 of the inlets of my rooftop evaporative cooler based on the decreased temperature readings inside my home on days when the external variables such as temperature and humidity were the same. Data always better than opinion. Have a nice day and I hope you and your family are all well.

That's basically a tandem axle trailer. Unusual for a bike trailer, but not impossible to implement correctly. That camper should have a torsion axle (scaled down to bike trailer size, obviously) to relieve stress from the axle and wheels especially when taking corners. Of course, the trailer should be designed so that it doesn't break that quickly and easily even without a torsion axle, or just make it a single axle instead.

The bushings looked like they were sintered bronze that was done really poorly. The entire lip broke off and the entire unit was then unusable. I was horribly disappointed because it is an awesome concept and the tent-cot was very comfortable for sleeping in!! I took a 45 mile ride with the second trailer and slept in it at a state park as a test. Unfortunately I never got to use it on a long distance tour ride.

The fan provides the resistance. Google it to see if anyone else has done that.
@norcalkid2776
@norcalkid2776 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ahmad - No, the Max Trainer fan does not have any wiring connected to it, BUT you should not remove the fan for the following reasons: 1) The #1 reason - Your Max Trainer will no longer work! This is because mounted to the fan's backing plate are 4 small magnets. When you pedal the machine, the fan rotates and those magnets pass in front of a "speed sensor". The speed sensor is what "wakes" the machine up and determines the RPM (pedal speed) and your calorie burn rate. If the fan was removed then the speed sensor would never detect any rotational movement and thus your machine would also "Pause" any workout every 5 seconds. There is a workaround (though still not suggested): 2) The fan BLADES are riveted to the fan's backing plate and so, in theory, you could drill out the rivets and remove ONLY the fan BLADES. Then those magnets on the fan's backing plate would remain and so the speed sensor would still function OK. However, the fan blades provide SOME resistance and so your machine would not have as much resistance as it should, which means the calorie burn values would be incorrect. Note the REAL resistance is provided by the brake disc and the brake magnets (using "eddy current" braking technology). Also, the fan blades remove the hot air and help cool the brake disc's heat and so with no fan blades the brake disc would be much hotter.
