Yes it absolutely will! I think the weather overall is good in Aberdeen. As you are on the East coast it tends to get windy but that keeps the rain clouds away and makes way for the sun! So yes, the sun definitely shines in Aberdeen!

Thank you for sharing. I had a piece at a German restaurant recently and it was fantastic. I'm shocked it was never mentioned or made in our German-American family. It is delicious. I'm sorry I've missed out all these years.

Vielen Dank! My Mom is German, but she emigrated to Canada in the 1970s. Although she doesn’t enjoy baking, this was a summer staple throughout our childhood. Thank you for sharing your recipe - I’ve been meaning to track one down. I remember my Mom’s having a layer of vanilla pudding. Have you encountered that?

Did you know… cutters edges are important in our baking? Fluted edge notify the consumer its a sweet bake as in a fruited scone, of the biscuits/cookies made in this video. Straight edge: is for savoury bakes like your cheese scones or the like. Well done on the video, I wish the boxes had an accompanying one like this linked by QR.

I'm at 15 minutes mixing and it's still soup lol Oh I see... Bakers measure in weight and I can't just divide grams by 237 to get the cup equivalent...

Deffo! I brush oil/melted butter over the top with salt, pepper, and fresh coriander, but sometimes I add a little salt to the dough. No longer makes it 2 ingredient though XD

Yes, you can use 7g of dried fast-action yeast instead!

Thank you, this was by far the easiest recipe I found online...For the American fcolks..I used Montana Unbleached Bread flour...It has some barlez malt in it which helps with spring...I had to use instant yeast 7 grams...

I lived in Nürnberg (Germany) for four years, i hated the bread at first, but after four years I was addicted to it. I have been unable to make it because Dallas Texas is so dry i cant get the bread to rise. My son is into making sour dough which is very time consuming. I learned two things thatvmay help. You use bottle water and unbleached flour because clorine kills the yeast. I love your tips using boiled water in the oven. I think thesetips my give me a sucessful result. If i can make Baverian potato balls i should be able to pull off Bauernbrot.😊

Plenty mountains in Scotland! The highest are the munros of which there are 282! Feel free to google that to see what hills you can do from Aberdeen. Some are hard to access by public transport but there is a hillwalking (lairig) club at Aberdeen uni that you can join who organise trips!

Help? Ich habe eine Deutschese namen, aber Ich kann nurr ein bissien auf Deutsch spreche. I am an American mutt with some German heritage. Over 25 years ago, my brother travelled to Germany, and brought home several loaves of schwarzbrot, the black bread. It was probably the best bread I have ever had. I live in northern California, and have tried to find an independent bakery who would bake black bread, and have only found one who would do so. The bread was nothing like what my brother bought back when, as it had way too much rye flour in it. I have no idea what the specific bread name was, nor even the city where it was purchased. I can't ask him for more details as he passed in '99. In addition, I have never baked bread for myself. Can this be any more difficult? How would you suggest I proceed in trying to learn more about what that bread could have been back when?

Thank you for making this- I'm thinking about studying abroad at Aberdeen for a semester from the US so your videos are incredibly helpful!! My other option is Univ of Strathclyde but I'm currently leaning more towards Aberdeen. The only thing that's holding me back is travel- how difficult and expensive is it to get from Aberdeen to major cities across the UK? I'd think that'd be easier to do from Glasgow but I could be wrong!

Aw that's brilliant! Let me know how it goes. It should also say on the recipe on my blog (linked below the video) but for this recipe I'd use about 7-10g dried yeast. Just add it straight to the bowl without dissolving in the milk - just make sure to add it to the opposite side as the salt so the salt doesn't kill the yeast! Good luck!
