great point about the theme song. except, its not a good song. its melody is the doors: people are strange, but it sounds even more like a childrens carnival tune. the lyrics are extreme cringe angsty pre teen girl. and the "spooky" 'cmere' and 'i wanna end me' screeeech are so terrible. its so indicative of the level of creativity and taste went into making this show. it puts you in a bad mood from the beginning. nothing in s1 hinted at modern pop culture. this one has spongebob, elf, eilish, mma, kpop, etc. its bad trash culture. in fact, every song in this show was equally terrible. "3's for girl and 4's for a boy" or "i use state of the arrrrrt..... TECH-nolo-geeeeeeeiiieieeee" "wont you come, wont you come" (during the disgusting s+x scen). there isnt one good song. compared to s1, which had vashti bunyan, 13th floor elevators, handsome family, nick cave's grinderman, wu tang. it was unbelievably great music direction, in addition to every other perfect aspect of that show this show is not even as good as your average trash made-for-netflix thriller. even if i wasnt heavily biased toward season 1 of td, its so easy to spot some terrible decision that rips you out of your suspension of disbelief every 2 minutes. but knowing the elements she took from s1 and treated like insignificant easter eggs and warped into something so meaningless and embarrassing (the ACTUAL pedophile boy lover spiral, the "then start asking the right questions" line, the tuttles, rust's dad), makes it so much worse. its offensively terrible. the acting, the characters, the woke narratives, the subplots, the dimple piercings, the "hello evangeline" zombie, the rhaspy hoarse birdfaced foster trying to act like a tough guy shot calling bad boy, the gross r_p e scene with "navarro, even the name "navarro", the ai art set pieces, the constant juvenile swearing in the dialogue, the allusions to modern trash pop culture, the awful attempts at humor, the cringe tough female angle. how could you have a detective who looks like a simpsons character with cheek piercings as your detective? not to mention every person in this show is ungoldy unattractive. its so strange. its like it was designed to be ugly. it was made only to put ugliness into the world, and ruin what the show has been able to achieve so far. "do the FREAKIN MATH" "u pray, like kneel on the ground, hands together, look to the sky, pray?", "choompa loompa", "spongebob toothbrush". what is happening here? is issa lopez a mentally deficient 14 year old hot topic girl who barely speaks english? Just finished all the seasons, except 9. I'm gonna hold off on it for a bit. This show truly was brilliant and kept me on the edge of my seat. Favorite season is probably 2 or 5 :)

I saw him in 2007 and even met him after the show when he walked around the entire room saying hi to everyone! I've only been to a few live comedy shows, and I'm glad as hell this was one of them!

Do you consider Julian a side character? If so I don't understand how you could. He's definitely a main character, close to or even equal to Ricky in terms of importance. My favorite character is Bubbles and Mr. Lahey was also extremely important to the show and very missed, but from the start, the main focus of the series was always the friendship-albeit sometimes strained-between Ricky and Julian.

Ahh a fellow Aussie 24 fan. Reckon an Aussie spin off would work? My idea... An ex ASIS (ASIO?) agent who due to an injury or PTSD leaves the service and retrains for the AFP as an analyst. But they're about to be fired due to....their partying (yup drug test... This Aussie Bauer is a bit loose lol). But on this particular day they're called into work because a siege has taken place and the AFP determine that the group in question is what he's been analysing. He tells the Inspector (let's say.... SAPOL... Why not? Adelaide doesn't get enough love lol) that they're gonna kill the hostages if they allow cameras there to show what's going on. He snuggles a gun in and starts a gun fight under the guise of being a negotiator. Over the course of the day he realises it's NOT about terrorism but someone paid this group to distract SAPOL and the AFP from a massive INTEL and Military theft from the Subcore we have here (we build military subs in Outer Harbour. A suburb close to the beach here) The kicker.... They're not aware of him. He (or she) aware of them. I would also make it more of an ensemble. The Ex ASIO person is the spy with some dirty solo action and torture. An ex SASR or 3RAR person is on the STARR group (our SWAT) who gets involved is the one who winds up losing a family member. Basically if it continues I'd have season 2 where he government creates it's own CTU in response to season 1, the ex ASIO person gets a job there and slowly becomes more straight and the ex 3RAR person winds up slowly becoming Tony. But actually bad.

seasons 2 and 3 were great as well. season 1 was really dark and it ended too early because there were more people to catch. also, matthew was really over the top in season 1. it was still really good though. the ending in season 2 was disappointing but was still pretty good. season 3 was also good because it was just really interesting and you wonder what happened and why. the friendship was also interesting to watch. season 4 in episode 1 is slap full of woke lesbian man hating bullshit. it's so hard to watch the hollywood manly tough girl narrative. the men are useless idiots in season 4.
