I really loved the fact that the world was alien, made me wonder what each little plant, or animal did. The flower scene was my absolute favorite part

Reminded me of Raised By Wolves on HBO, which despite good reviews, interesting designs and stories and otherworldly-ness, also wound up in the cancelled/dustbin of unique shows.
@motioninart15 күн бұрын
bloody hell. is it an animated show as well?
@colummalec804314 күн бұрын
@@motioninart no, it was live-action, but had that stuck-on-another planet vibe, cool aliens, and A.I. who was sort of a protector/antagonist.

Such an underrated show. I was on awe the 1st episode. The world felt so alien the eco system felt real it had niches . The scene with the little guy inside the flower inside the kassive spiky wall was beautiful. And like the female who was watching this miracle with me was also left speechless

i was telling my brother that day, I hope this show gets canceled at its peak popularity and as an one off phenomenon like Euphoria. it should be like an art project. forever being an outlier within mainstream entertainment.

it's definitely worth watching, though i found it a mixed bag. Amazing: animation, alien ecosystem, music, violence Annoying: characters, dialogue, voice acting, sappy writing I can't think of a character I liked, i was hoping for them all to die to the alien ecology, which should have happened a lot more often. The psychic monster was too big of a contrived plot device. Lots of awesome parts such as the wordless flower part you mentioned, but by the end I didn't care at all about the storyline and was thorougly checked out.

Interesting. Which characters didn't do it for you? I may have only really disliked Azzi in the beginning with her views towards Levi but that changed over time. I also thought the voice acting was decent throughout and correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the voice of Sam the same voice of Spike from Cowboy Bebop? And for the psychic monster, contrived plot device?

@@motioninart re: psychic monster, every other organism has it's own plausible behaviour that humans can interact with, but this one creature/species is essentially magical and casts spells and has super strength and is the main antagonist. I don't see what it added besides an excuse to show a character's flashbacks

One of the interesting things about Scavengers Reign is how the humans are portrayed. They’re not heroes, just regular people with their own flaws and baggage, which makes them feel self-centered at times. But honestly, that’s just human nature-they’re trying to survive in a world they don’t belong to. I can’t say I disliked them for it; they’re relatable in their imperfection. The show’s main theme seems to revolve around the balance of the planet’s ecosystem-how its lifeforms coexist, from symbiosis to the food chain. The humans, though, are like a wrench in the system, unable to fit naturally. The psychic creature is a great example: it’s a failed symbiosis, turning into a toxic, addiction-like relationship where alien goo is exchanged for food. This throws both the creature and the human into chaos. In contrast, the robot’s story shows the opposite-a harmonious integration into the world. Together, these arcs feel like two sides of the same coin: one showing destruction, the other balance. In the end, it’s all about how nature reacts to disruption, adapting in ways that are both fascinating and unsettling.

@@highscience5081 Well said. I didn't think about how the psychic creature and robot integrations are similar themes. Though I think it would have worked better in both case without "magic". I can't even remember how the psychic creature met its end, some kind of big energy buildup and explosion of human emotion blah blah... too abstract and out of place for me. Why not just Kaiman and the creature forming a symbiotic relationship and Kaiman losing touch with his human side, without all the telekinesis and super powers. And the robot breaks into tiny little pieces but magically gets put back together, through the power of love or something... Why not just have the orange goop change its programming enough that it ditches the annoying woman, instead of establishing that the world doesn't need to obey physical laws whatsoever
