4:00 he kills the first guy in a violent way because he has to traumatize the other guy, and because Joel was trying to be done with it fast he didn't think of the possibility of the other guy having a gun. 4:33 the whole point of what he was trying to do was to kill him in front of the other guy in such a way he would get traumatized. and the reason he waited till the sixth day was I assume he tried going back to his normal life, but after experiencing things similar to what the first girl tried telling him about, he did research until he found 2 bad people and then made a 1 minute plan. 5:20 It wouldn't spread to the others guys because the curse has already attached itself to Lewis ( the guy that had witnessed the killing). 5:30 his plan failed when he accidentally killed the other guy; the other gang members were not part of his plan and since he didn't want to die he tried running. 7:04 her being a popstar was probably to up the stakes. but idk. 9:31 I believe that was the point, it was supposed to be a lot of things happening where you feel overwhelmed like how Skye is feeling. 12:38 Terrifier isn't a scary movie. 12:50 there isn't any message, it's a movie that shows their run in with the smile curse. 15:42 The Shining also isn't a scary movie, it's more thriller than horror. 16:30 I really don't see what's funny about that scene. I wanna ask you something, are there any horror movies that you've ever watched that genuinely scared you?

My wife and I saw this a few days ago. I didn’t like it as much as the first. Mainly for two reasons: the protagonist was very unlikable, and basically guilty of manslaughter. And, the difference between reality and illusion was too ambiguous. We don’t know what actually happened in the movie. Did she actually go to the psych ward? Did she actually have a meltdown and push that old lady off the stage? Did she really meet up with the guy at the pizza place? If any of you have a solid answer within the text that I missed, please let me know.

Totally disagree with title, and I hate most new movies. This was one of the best horror films I've ever seen. Jump scares were unexpected, very creative camera angles, sound was good, great cinematography, everything was good, for what it was.

I completely get it why you don't like it, it's understandable because this is just what the movie is. A more of the same scenario, without any new insight, but with a different presentation. Smile 2 is roughly the same from the first movie, but this two movie used the same story while making it the polar opposite from one another, there's also a big difference in the plot and how the story goes. If you really watch it, you'll see that the second movie is more character driven in the story, while the bulk of the 1st movie play as a mystery and investigation. To be fair, smile isn't supposed to be something that deeply inventive or groundbreaking like hereditary or babadook, it's just a classic haunting story that just try to be that. So I get it if you found it disappointing, going in with expectation of something more, but ended up just finding something unoriginal. But even so, calling it sucks didn't do it justice, the movie just don't match your taste and there's nothing inherently wrong with that.

The first movie felt like this to me. The short film was excellent, and of course they made a movie off a premise, and then wrote a lazy script. The lead actress was upstaged by the actress in the short, who was in the first Smile movie smile interaction. I just have no care for Smile 2. Lately, I have been seeing so many bad, or just lazy script and bad acting in movies, that also have excellent shot composition, a vibe, a look, cinematography, etc. It’s like the crews are pros, and the producers, director and writers just aren’t, or aren’t very good. I’ll have to catch up on your videos, as I forgot I was subbed. I watch too many film channels! Excellent work
@margs91843 ай бұрын
If the goal of this was to incite rage, you succeeded. This movie had some similar "what's real/not" as in other movies. The conceptual part of the monster makes sense to most movie goers as "mental illness", and connects the illusionary psychotic breaks to the "real" world we're treated to see in infrequently inside of the film. The jumpscares are balanced with just enough suspense to get most movie goers to invest in them. My only nitpick of note was with the end of the movie. If the monster is a "mental illness" type of thing, the end of the movie doesn't quite carry enough water to set up a third without some heavy ass lifting (unspecific as to avoid spoilers). Don't have to watch the first to get the second, decent enough on its own. I enjoyed it at the theater, probably wouldn't have landed as well at a drive in.

I went to see Smile 2 with 10 of my friends just yesterday and none of us liked that shit. I do in fact feel like the smiles weren’t as scary as in the first movie. The worst parts of it in my opinion were the last 20% of the film. Like how did they think that making the last 30 minutes just a hallucination. That just makes it all feel pointless. The monster does in fact not look good but I did like its entrance. The ending is the stupidest thing ever. Wasn’t the point of the creature that it only torments one person at a time. How did they think making her die on stage was a good choice is beyond me. Also have to mention that they chose the least believable death ever by making her off herself with a microphone. Has anyone ever died like that?

@JoshSi193 ай бұрын
@@motioninart the concept itself is creepy and has a deeper meaning than just a stupid smile, it touches on trauma in a unique way especially in this movie with the angle it chose with following a pop star. It isolates you from anyone who cares about you by making you look like a lunatic because if you try to tell someone what you are seeing, you sound crazy. Not to mention the jump scares in this movie imo weren’t cheesy but they did their job and had some creative moments. Not just jumping out at you, but the scares quite literally made sense to use against Skye because of the explained trauma with the car accident and the death of her boyfriend. Maybe that didn’t sell you but it’s okay because the movies gonna make a lot of money in the box office and there will definitely be a third one.

@@motioninart the low-brow trend of "Everything Wrong With" cinema is, usually, a dead end perspective. In that it's so extremely subjective and opinionated that it rarely focuses on story-telling or intentional film construction. Where in the "this movie sucks" discussion should we discuss the stage mother? The woman who coldly offers her daughter a glass water bottle, from a distance, in place of any motherly affection (a plot device which is usually communicated with "water" in film). This isn't to say the film is good, I liked it a lot less than the first. But these movies are RICH in visual story (at the accessible level, not at the elevated horror level) and allegory meant for the general public. Disliking something publicly is an extremely hard look to pull off, and doing so requires a lot more nuance and POV to communicate the points without sounding overtly "counterculture" or "miserable." I'm not saying either of those are your content, it's just such a fine line when you're "critiquing" such colossal pieces of art.

The main actress was prerry good and her performance was solid/ the sound and video effects were pretry well made as well imo .Now what i have ti say is that the plot was kinda repetitive and similar to the first movie but on a different environment so that was a bit disappointing...,most of the jumpscares were predictable and there were few shocking scenes were you wouldn't expect something to happen .Overall it was ok but the first movie was bit better imo cause you didn't have a clue what caused this curse until the end. 1st movie 6.5/10 2nd movie 6/10
