My armory has been pro-proxy and it has increased the number of players by a lot, I know about a third of people there wouldn't be playing if they weren't encouraged. It's a casual local event, and it shouldn't be shunned when people can't afford a playset of $300 cncs. The problem isn't that you can't make a functioning armory deck for $100, it's that new players don't have any deck building knowledge and can't build a well performing budget list.
@Wilshiire21397 күн бұрын
Im so curious what heroes they will choose for the armory deck. Personally I would like a Dori, Vynsette, Ira, or a new version of dromai.

They either make the cards more available and subsequently make the second market have to come down a bit or they simply cripple themselves more. They already are sending would be new players right over to other games because of the prices and swingy pull rates in sealed boxes and cases. The game is so well made that it wont tank even if they open the flood gates a bit. It will allow the game to grow and gain organic value from actual collectability and natural scarcity over time rather than forced bottlenecking for artificial scarcity. The one thing that LSS must not do is become like mtg 2.0! What does that mean? A lot but the main thing they gotta watch is prices and power/complexity creep. Prices is the bigger fish to fry currently.
@adambrett20059 күн бұрын
I think they won't re print. They just ban the staple cards , and people can only use them in LL. Then, new staples in new sets.
@hamsandwich66859 күн бұрын
I don't think they will do this, because this is what yugioh does and it really burns out their competitive players to be on that kind of cycle. They also want the LL format to be somewhat balanced so it's not always 8 bravo star of the shows at every event's top 8. I think they do this only if the other possible solutions they come up with are speculated to produce worse results than just banning.
@gerharddamm59339 күн бұрын
Just started watching the video but I hope the answer is no lol. The game is way too young and niche to be this expensive. Priority should be accessibility and growing the player base.

@shawnjavery11 күн бұрын
I've always felt like people complain too much about the price of the game. People's view of what a hobby should cost is heavily influenced by video games, which are just absurdly cheap and are an unrealistic bar to judge things to. The complexity of the game itself and finding locals were always the bigger issues imo, you don't have to spend a lot of money to keep up with the game if you don't want to.

@garcardosotan617213 күн бұрын
Yugioh is a game that teaches you that you can reprint the same card with a slightly different effect and so long as it's a little broken people will keep playing.
@omikura13 күн бұрын
@@garcardosotan6172 it is not about the effects, Yu-Gi-Oh is famous for its aggressive short print policy. They print less cards per pack of the most powerful cards in the set and reprint them many time after with the same policy. That is why meta decks have insane prices and the rouge options are so cheap.
@retrofraction17 күн бұрын
I think that Aggro and fatigue are two sides of the same coin. What few players talk about is the fact that Aggro also fatigues, as you force your opponent to burn cards at a much faster rate in the end game. Which then becomes a match of attrition of the aggro hero being able to consistently fatigue the other player's hand and prevent them from actually having meaningful turns. It's basically the definition of Kodachi locking. It is nothing different than an Ice hero making an aggro hero choose between which cards to keep and which ones they can lose and still push some damage. I do think that the game currently does lack more defensive options for heroes to get around hybrid damage and stopping huge tidal shifting events such as; Transcend or Channel Lightning Valley. As they provide a certain level of consistency that decks didn't have except for Fai, but also give mini combos like Bolton without the required self mill and reduced hand size. As for the currency of PTI's, I think that the more limited they are the better. Not only does that increase their overall value but it sets a soft cap as to how many people can buy their way in. But yea I think people that win Battle Hardened that have a prize that is worth keeping/selling. But Battle Hardened should be only events that have a minimum of 100+ players. (but probably set a cap at 50 total per year, and make them expire 2 years after acquiring it)

Enjoyed listening to this, I’m surprised you didn’t bring up the topic of limited play in FaB and how all the tier4s are split format. Coming from Yugioh I thought I would just want to play constructed fab but now I actually enjoy limited at nearly the same level and I think it’s a great test of ur knowledge as a ‘TCG pro’ to see how well u can master both limited and constructed play.

In my case I enjoy Limited a lot more than Constructed since I discovered FaB. I think it is a very skillful task, much more interaction and I love the surprise factor. I talked with Khang after the Pod actually a bit about it cause we barely came to it while recording. I'm a Yu-Gi-Oh player and I have every blitz deck. It's so fun to take 4 blitz decks and play a pit with my friends. I haven't tried to make a standard deck due to the fact that there is not really a flash and blood community in my city but I know a lot of players who have and enjoy the blitz decks probably because are so cheap. I wish whe had a flash and blood community but because I know how big League of Legends is in my city the Riot will be huge next year so I don't see anything changing for flash and blood community in my city next year . Why the Haunted set doesn't have blitz decks?
