after the review I can say you were really unlucky. When I bought mine, I get another one for a friend at the same time. Perfectly straight. No wobble at all or bouncing in rolling. I get another one as second cue (not new this time) and it was perfectly straight. I even get the slim shaft (11.75mm) new and again perfectly straight.

Yes, that is possible! We had two to test (both shown in the video), the first one (now destroyed) was waaaaay off straight. The replacement from Cue & Case was pretty darned good, but not perfect (also as shown in the video). It could be we got unlucky on both, it can happen! Glad you are happy with your Lucasi's! 👍

Do u have the dullest blade in the history of saws. Damn, get a new blade.
@AverageJoesPool
@AverageJoesPool 2 күн бұрын
Actually no, but I can see how you would think that. Firstly, the cuts were done purposefully slowly for the sake of the video. The saw used is a Worx Miter Saw, which is equipped with a special Worx blade designed to cut both timber and steel (!!!) where the blade has tips that point inwards towards ones another to 'nibble' through steel. Thankfully we used this saw because if you look at the cue after it is cut we actually cut straight through the center of a metal bolt (most likely a weight bolt)!!! Cutting through steel also slows the cutting down 👍

thank you for the amazing review! what made you choose 19 oz, if you could have gone with 21 oz?
@AverageJoesPool
@AverageJoesPool 3 күн бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the review! 19oz is pretty much the standard option for pool cues, and so that's what we always try to test with. 21oz is pretty heavy for a playing cue. People play with all weights, but 19oz tends to be the standardized (and most common) option. Hope that helps 👍

Thanks for the awesome videos. Ive watched 3 or 4 so far getting ready to bondo my slate and refelt. One question, I noticed a lot of felt kits come with precut rails but the table is precut too. Do the precut table clothes usually line up pretty well or should I be looking to buy that in bulk and cut it down myself?
@AverageJoesPool
@AverageJoesPool 3 күн бұрын
Glad you are enjoying the video's! The cloths do not come pre-cut. It may be that the image you are looking at has been shaped so it's obvious it's a pool table cloth, but in reality what you receive when you order will be a large rectangle of cloth. Hope that helps! 👍

Sorry you feel that way. We stand 100% behind our review and consider it both fair and accurate. The Lucasi did not score badly at all: 3.8 Stars, and described as a wonderful cue to play with (which it is). However, the cue is not perfect, and was scored accordingly. Hopefully you will find some of our other reviews more acceptable! 👍

Just a thought - Have you considered filling the old hole with epoxy? I guess it would have to be injected into the hole somehow. Might work to better solidify the area around the screw. I'm working on older Brunswick centurion (having no practical experience), and your videos have been very helpful to me.
@AverageJoesPool
@AverageJoesPool 5 күн бұрын
Epoxy would glue the screw in place, which is not good. Another good tip is to put a wooden toothpick into the hole and then screw into it. The reduced width of the hole and extra material helps the screw hold fast 👍

If I have a 7ft pool table, what kind of cloth should I buy? napped or worsted? because if I buy a worsted for smaller table I have, it's very hard to control ball movement. it's run so wild.
@AverageJoesPool
@AverageJoesPool 5 күн бұрын
That may depend more on where you are than your table size... In North America worsted tends to be the more standard choice, whereas in the UK (for example) it's almost all napped (on smaller tables). It's a good point about cloth speed on smaller tables!! 👍

i went to a sporting goods store to buy one of their more inexpensive $49 cues and some of the wraps were falling apart right on the rack. So be careful of what you are buying, you might want to either buying one without the wrap or spend a little more money on one with a good wrap.

I used to own a Lucasi LZ-D2 with a classic 13mm shaft. A very basic, well built cue and it's still used by a friend after 15 years. The irish linen grip is holding up and cue itself is straight. Back then they didn't cost as much; I believe mine was about 240 euros. For someone looking for a decent cue, getting one of these as second hand might save you money. There's always the chance that you can upgrade or replace your shaft too for a predator or what have you. Nice review and got a follower.

My first cue was the Lucasi Custom LZD6. I'm very curious whats the real difference between the Custom and Hybrid besides price and wraps.
@AverageJoesPool
@AverageJoesPool 10 күн бұрын
The main difference (as outlined in the video) between the Hybrid and Custom lines is that the Hybrid cues tend to have more technically-orientated features. When you compare Hybrid and Custom models side by side the Hybrid tend to have a 'higher' spec, as in more features. Many Hybrid features do filter down to Custom though, so for some models the differences may not be huge. Hope that helps 👍

Re: warranty service--in the US, Federal Trade Commission regulations state a manufacturer cannot require a purchaser to register a product within a certain timeframe to activate an advertised warranty. A manufacturer can, however, require registration (proof of purchase with vendor name, date, and price) prior to processing a claim within their advertised warranty period.

Going through a warranty process with a cue manufacturer like you did was VERY informative. And, very helpful to prospective buyers of Lucasi. I have a Lucasi myself. It's about 8-10 years old by now. Aside from the hand wrap deteriorating over that time, the cue rolls as straight as it was when new. Overall durability is easily a 9/10.

I know someone sponsored and working with Lucasi. They have some new stuff coming out. Anyways, they shouldn't call it custom. It is mass produced. Most of these mass-produced cues have very rounded corners because they are using CNC machines. Sure, custom cue maker's use CNC machines, but old school cue makers will have sharp points. Also, you know the proper seller is using their website. Or bigger websites like Seyberts. Sorry, Amazon affiliate links for that. You can see if Seyberts or Cue and Case will give you kickbacks. Thanks for having a straight review, though.

Hi, buddy. I need to buy 1 single or 3 sectional pieces of slates. Where can I buy it from? Please tell me how I can get it. Thank you.
@AverageJoesPool
@AverageJoesPool 15 күн бұрын
Slates are not a one size fits all produce (unfortunately). Different manufacturers have the holes for fixings in different places to fit their frames. So you'd need to buy the right slate for the table you have. The best option may be to buy a cheap used table and get the slates that way. You can pick tables up for not much money (assuming it's an older table). You may also be able to get the slates from a used table with the same manufacturer as yours, but a different model (because the same slates were often used on different models from the same brand for cost-effectiveness). You can buy brand new slates on Alibaba, but it would cost a lot to ship one set. Best bet: pick up a cheap used table with the correct slates. Hope that's of some help 👍

Mine looks similar ... 2004nb hybrid with lizard grip and it plays very well with the slim, radial, and the solid wood shafts... combined with 314-3 and z shafts are comparable .... I would even compare with my p3 vantage shaft. Lucasi spliced shafts ( some are 8 or 10 pieces ) with a variety of different trim rings or whatnot. Still an awesome cue IMO ... stickers are a plenty but must remove. Radial splice pie shape is not a sticker
