The Heartland vs Mesoamerica arguments about the Book of Mormon lands is a waste of energy in my mind. How long did it take for the Mormon pioneers to cross the plains to get to Utah, three months? That is what, around 2000 miles or so? So, whether Lehi landed along the North or South American coastline, how far do you think a people could migrate inside of a period of 1000 years?! 400 BC to 600 AD? The whole of North and South America is full of Nephite and Lamanite history. The whole face of the land was changed at the time of the crucifixion and prior to the visitation of Christ on the American Continent, so why argue about geographical resemblances to Book of Mormon descriptions? Like I said, it is a waste of energy. Better to put all that energy to work in redeeming Joseph and restoring them all to their rightful place in the House of Israel. While I was listening to this presentation, I will admit that my mind did ponder on what the church should use its vast financial resources for. I think that it is there, not only for the building of temples, but for the establishment and building of the New Jerusalem. Perhaps this remnant of the blood of Joseph will need it for subsistance while those of us who are converted/adopted gentiles assist them in building this great city.

To answer your question: "...how far do you think a people could migrate inside of a period of 1000 years?! " They would have explored every far corner of every part of both continents and would have known those places with most desirable climates in which to settle. In addition, they would have taken ships along the Pacific Coast upwards to Alaska and from there easily traveled from there to Kamchaka and places southward. Thank you for your remarks on those embarrassing models which assume a low intelligence of the inhabitants of the American Continents (racial bias?). This channel has detailed highly efficient highway systems which people of that era used to effectively get to varous points in both continents. I strongly agree with the points you make. The comments around 29:30 where the wishy washy members condemn someone (who is doing good) as evil, who is not really evil and when they are the ones that aren't doing well, in order to be rid of them still happens. I've seen this in my life time. Its also a thing that many nehors are among the members now, but people don't realize that they are there, or they don't seem to realize what's being done to them or in fact that some of their friends act like nehors. Some people have been impressed recently to talk about the nehors more this year in fact, which seems to be a sign that trouble is coming. ... @34:05 you can see this happening now with the music. they don't even play reverent music with the tabernacle choir half the time. They are doing music that is boastful and prideful now. And mixing in non-hymns. They sound prideful and not humble anymore either, except when they play hymns that demand reverence and humility in order to be played. They want to do exciting music and be seen and put up a show, often using non-LDS singers also now. Its openly visible. And they do it like described at that time marker with maybe 1 or 2 pioneer hymns or something reverent but the rest not reverent. The songs that aren't hymns may not have anything to do with true doctrine sometimes and just be stuff for fun.

@19:00 I feel like I'm missing something when it said the old man was frustrated and angry to be there? It seems maybe that he thought the family were sinful maybe... but if I saw missionaries show up to my house and acting like that it would make me misunderstand the point of the message they brought. So I don't understand this part.
@thelatterdayteacher16 күн бұрын
This is just how it was told to me, and I agree with you to some extent; frankly I also found it confusing, yet I can't rule out there might be some significance. There's a detail so strange that it is not likely anyone who was trying to fool us would have come up with it. I believe these kinds of things might even be there to help screen out those who imagine and expect an easy and clear answer to all of their objections. The tall grumpy man was definitely not there on a missionary task, he felt it was an imposition on his time, but why? Who could he have been? It just sounds like someone who was very busy and felt however this job was given to him was an extreme inconvenience; I would guess he was acting as if he had more important things to do. In stories about this apostle there are always aspects that are too strange to fit into anyone's narrative; I suppose that is a key part of the "pattern" I keep referencing. I included this because I do believe this account fits a pattern and it is a pattern that is difficult to define in words. But it is the last part that especially got my attention, as if the van disappearred: " I was astonished by his reaction. He roared like a lion that had just been whipped. He left the yard but I never saw the van go around the house and leave our little valley." Why was he so grouchy? I just have learned over the years some things do not fit anyone's narrative and are supposed to be thought provoking. Maybe something eventually comes up to provide better clarity on this aspect.

It came to my attention, but so have so many other podcasts with Native American themed discussions from descendants of the Book of Mormon people on fulfillment of Book of Mormon prophecies. I do believe the Lord has reasons to help the discussion become sparked among the many descendants of the Book of Mormon people at this time, and there will be many actors from those people who help bring his knowledge to light. That scripture you reference is certainly an important one, particularly vereses 8-9: "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said: Here am I; send me. And he said: Go and tell this people-Hear ye indeed, but they understood not; and see ye indeed, but they perceived not." My father was one who dedicated his life to the spread of the gospel and the true meaning of the Book of Mormon. he being so anxious to see this mesage spread that for well over the last 20 years of his life he sent and paid for ads advertising this primary message of the Book of Mormon to Native American newspapers across the American continent. Joseph Smith is the one who was given the keys to this last dispensation, never to be taken away from him, and it will only be the words of Joseph Smith that guide this whole thing; that which is not the voice of Joseph Smith or bring his words to light shall not stand.

I have often wondered if in our era, a repeat event of Alma 35 will occur again; where the Zoramites kick out their poor and, they go over to the people of Ammon to be rescued. (Because that's the only ones who were willing to help them.) And because modern culture places so much emphasis on materialism and wealth by the mainstream, this seems possible.
@noahriding57802 ай бұрын
I have been interested in this idea. But I didn't know you covered it. I'm a bit worried about this. Partly because not using the term 'Mormon' anymore can have double meanings. You sort of talked about this in another video with D&C 109, when you talked about the idea that if we 'pollute' this church and this land then we will be rejected. Both D&C 84 and 109 carry warnings against us polluting the land and the church. Also in 1 of Brigham Young's dreams, he dreams about a bunch of apostate 'mormons' dancing around and trying to get attention and not living the gospel. And in that dream he tells them they aren't mormons anymore, because of not living it. Here are the references; D&C 84:54 And your minds in times past have been darkened because of unbelief, and because you have treated lightly the things you have received- 55 Which vanity and unbelief have brought the whole church under condemnation. 56 And this condemnation resteth upon the children of Zion, even all. 57 And they shall remain under this condemnation until they repent and remember the new covenant, even the Book of Mormon and the former commandments which I have given them, not only to say, but to do according to that which I have written- 58 That they may bring forth fruit meet for their Father’s kingdom; otherwise there remaineth a scourge and judgment to be poured out upon the children of Zion. 59 For shall the children of the kingdom pollute my holy land? Verily, I say unto you, Nay. D&C 109 fits with above w verse 20,21, 30, 40-52 seeming to focus on the prophet pleading that the saints may escape the judgments laid out in D&C 84; as well as Isaiah 24:3-6; the verse in Isaiah here spells out curses for changing the ordinances. ... Also... when you study how socialism and communism work, they work by erasing identity. You erase history, identity, landmarks, anything pointing to who you are. And then replace it with a new identity. And some of these kinds of people do try to push back and curb churches and religion. Deep socialism has always viewed religion as an enemy. And it so happens they are trying to take over the country. To do so they have to target and suppress previous leadership elements of all kinds including faith and religion. That's what they did in Russia when communism took over. So it comes down to... are we not mormons because we need to repent or because of some other reason? ... It doesn't make sense to erase, scriptures, or erase scripture identities also. We don't abandon the term Jacob or Israel. Or Nephi... or Isaiah. That's why this idea of changing things ... doesn't always make sense. IF something testifies of Christ, we sustain it and don't erase it. Mormon and Moroni testified of Christ. So... we wouldn't erase the name of their testimonies or their book. All records, prophets, testimonies that testify of Christ are sustained and honored. And not to be taken away. So the taking away of the name Mormon doesn't seem right to me. Also, the D&C says that the Book of Mormon is a COVENANT for our day. So we can't just erase the term Mormon. Because covenants are serious. This is stated in the D&C. There could be a danger also of some other country or g o v deciding they want to force changes in us; and that's kind of what happened near the end of the previous Christian era around 100 AD. Or maybe we're not qualifying by need to repent.

@KaiJames44 It's not about the messenger who delivers a simple message. The restored Gospel through Joseph Smith does not need to undergo a credibility check to check the qualifications for anyone who might be allowed to share it, it stands on its own. The messenger should not distract from the message and should not be the focus of whether the information should be judged as valid or not. The information in this presentation is available to anyone who desires to search it out and bring it out. Anyone can research the sayings of Orson Pratt and early church leaders, and present them as I have done. It may be that I do not identify myself every video but that does not mean I have not identified myself on this channel. I simply put out information that I know to be true and fully realize there is a much bigger work and I am only one small voice with limited means to put out what I is possible, within my limits.
@noahriding57802 ай бұрын
The messenger doesn't have to be seeking attention of his own for it to be legitimate. In fact, it actually lends more credibility that he isn't seeking fame or personal attention, personal gain. Many of us dislike the emphasis on other channels of the persons involved putting forth their personal fame ahead of their messages.

There are 5 founding fathers of the Native american tribes. 4 are asia based, and 1 is "European" based containing an X marker in their DNA. The X marker is found among the Druids as also around the middle east. The Indian tribes that contain this marker happen to be the Algonguin speaking tribes on the eastern United States. Mic Macs, Algonguin, Cherokee, Pawtawotame, Sauk/Fox, etc. When National Geographic one time was doing their Genome project, they had on their website highlights of people from around the US with their migration path. A migration path that followed their DNA. Of those, they had an Algonquin native highlighted, and in the description they literally said they didnt know how they got here because there wasnt a migration bread crumb trail like there was with the other founding Native fathers that came over the bering straight etc. They hypothesized that they may have come by boat. but they left it inconclusive. Also, in the intro to the Book of Mormon, it mentions that the Nephites/Lamanites were not the only peoples living here, that they were "among" the inhabitants already here.

You seem to take confidence in the solid footing of your intentional ignorance. If you are an expert on all of the people of the Book of Mormon you would be aware that early leaders did teach that Jaredites may very well have set sail from the coast of China. Coriantumr dwelt with the Nephites for a time and they also joined up with a separate group of people in the Mulekites. Has your unquestioned research accounted for the multiple variations which may not be known from these and multiple other simple facts, or are you simply content to post vain talking points that have been planted in your brain without you ever having been required to do any work to verify what has been propagandized into you?

I had been thinking about those very verses recently, and then they are in your video; And it correlates with some verses in D&C 84. And it so happens that President Nelson recently talked about D&C 109 also. The verses in question in D&C 109 fit with 84, both about warnings I think(?). What a coincidence that they'd talk about this now when the world is doing its best to become as bad as possible... unless its not a coincidence. We'll probably know when its polluted when that which has been forbidden because of unworthiness will be given to the unworthy; they are already trying to make certain things acceptable.

There are 3 elements that appear at the birth of a child (water , blood ,and spirit) and the same 3 elements appear during Jesus living ministry water (baptism) blood (crucitfition) and spirit (assention) so I feel somewhere along the line the female role was replaced with the male or the male took on more responsibility than was originally intended

🤔 Sometimes people tell stories to establish meaningful narratives that support one's belief. The Iroquois Native people would have designated story tellers that would create stories out of a frame work. They considered these stories to be a translation in a broader sense of the word. As interesting as stories like golden plates, reserected angels, or visions from stones in a hat may be, studying the Book of Mormon is most rewarding when focusing on its primary purpose - to testify of Jesus Christ who is the symbol representation of the good of mankind.
@thelatterdayteacher2 ай бұрын
@stevenhenderson9005 - I am not sure what exactly is your point. There have been men in leadership positions whould would "tell stories to establish meaningful narratives that support one's belief", e.g. Paul H. Dunn. But when the truth came out that was not a good thing for his agenda. "Stories" from people like the Iroquois might very well be from an oral tradition passed down over the centuries that are retelling truths in a different "Frame work" as you mention, but I would caution on labeling them just stories, when in reality the challenges of translation might be the cause for analogies of explanation that do not seem normal to the English language, but in the native language are perfectly truthful and make perfect sense. As for "visions from stones in a hat" I challenge you to produce a credible and verified original church source to provide a solid example that will lend credibility to your choice of words here (e.g., "narratives", "symbol representation", "stories" etc.) Otherwwise your comment stands as it comes across, speculative, an embellished speculation attempt to justify (and perhaps cover up) some sort of "intended symbol representation" of "narratives" that really do not have a foundations in real facts. That is not the type of message or approach that contributes to spreading the truthful gospel.

@noahriding5780 - I agree that the ploy you encountered is typical of a lot of people to avoid certain conversations. The trend is most people simply do not want to openly discuss things they find to be of a sensitive nature. @thelatterdayteacher2 ай бұрын
False. I would urge you to read and get more familiar with the Book of Mormon to help you clear up that confusion. Sometimes we have questions posed on this channel, sometimes seemingly innocent regarding contextual uses of words. If we are looking at the strict context of that word it is simply a term we use that people understand refers to religion taught and practiced in the Bible. The people of Nephi brought over the same religion that they practiced along with ancient Jerusulem, the same religion as existed in the Bible. The term Christian at one point was actually used in deragotory ways to separate Christian followers from those other religious persuasions which existed from the Old Testament era, very much similar to how the term "Mormons" has been used.. The people of Nephi which you refer to, like the prophets of the Old Testament, had prophets which led them to these two continents and were never lacking in knowledge and principles of what we refer to as the gospel of Christians or Christianity.

This story about the robbers being here makes a lot of sense. And its quite interesting. FIRST, its said in the book of Mormon that there was curse on the land with terrible famine when Nephi asked him to replace their war with a famine. And that was also to get rid of the robbers. Helaman Chapter 11: Verse 4 O Lord, do not suffer that this people shall be destroyed by the sword; but O Lord, rather let there be a famine in the land, to stir them up in remembrance of the Lord their God, and perhaps they will repent and turn unto thee. Also see verse 10 O Lord, behold this people repenteth; and they have swept away the band of Gadianton from amongst them insomuch that they have become extinct, and they have concealed their secret plans in the earth. Anyway, here's where it gets interesting. When you go visit the Fremont indian sites and visitor center in Southern Utah, they tell you that they found a great big ruin that was a fremont city when they were building the highway through that area. So they made the visitor center and made a site to learn what they can and preserve it. Well when you visit that site they tell you they either left or... unknown, possibly died out because there was a terrible famine that went through that whole area. Multiple years of famine. Helaman 11 quotes multiple years for this famine. Historically there can't be that many periods that had trackable points of multi-year famine. (Interesting). (3 1/2 years for Hel 11(?).) Also, the native rock art and petroglyphs in Utah are different than in other areas of the country. Does this surprise you? I find that interesting and that it matches up with BY saying this was the place of the robbers. This is... not provable but here it is. When you go to other parts of the US, native american evidence is all over the place. Sure its often buried now and half erased. But it was mostly found in open areas. Areas where it was found easily. And people wrote books and articles about it a lot especially in the 1800s. It was easy to find and in the open. Now in Utah its different. Its a lot of the time the rock art is painted in hidden places. Places that are hard to go to. hard to get to. High places that would take a long time to go and find. This was such that native rock art in Utah is still being discovered from places that were hidden even after we've been here for 150+ years. Now if you were robbers, yeah you might have created a culture where people hide things. And what's also interesting is how that matches up with this: Alma 58: Yea, and it came to pass that the armies of the Lamanites did flee out of all this quarter of the land. But behold, they have carried with them many women and children out of the land. 31 And those cities which had been taken by the Lamanites, all of them are at this period of time in our possession; and our fathers and our women and our children are returning to their homes, all save it be those who have been taken prisoners and carried off by the Lamanites. Now isn't that interesting? Many petroglyphs and rock arts are religious in nature. Sacred. This means, ... OK if you were 1 of those people that got carried off, but had been religious and were now in a camp of these robbers. When Sunday came you'd go to the hills and mountains and pretend you were carving art in the rocks and sort of hide the religious aspect of it. The rock art in Utah some of them do have messages in them, but some are hidden by the art. And also you might be hiding your religion while a prisoner of the robbers. This offers an explanation of why the rock art in Utah is the way it is. The late Dr. James R Harris of BYU did some research on this, but has passed away many years ago; although he didn't write about the robber aspect of it. Others doing work in other states have done a lot on Hopewell native research. Well I can't prove this. But it fits. And its interesting.

Thanks for talking about this. One of the reasons why people HAVE to understand and acknowledge who Joseph Smith is, is that he is a type of Joseph of Egypt but for the latter days. If you don't acknowledge a Joseph in Egypt situation, then the rest of Egypt perishes. And isn't that the situation we're in? When you look at youtube footage of the metro areas of the US now, especially on the coasts, its starting to look and show how bad this country is. You can see actual real, drug zombies now. Now you can see real homeless tent cities, often from drugs, but some from just chronic illness also, and mass falling into ruin. And other filth. But it only started to get that way after we kicked God out of the country, and began oppressing religion and other virtues. And its showing how bad its becoming, just like a famine, only its spiritual famine instead. ... I actually like the idea that Joseph was home schooled and a farmer. BECAUSE it means he did not participate in social class warfare as talked about in Hel. 6, 3rd Nephi 6, and 4th Nephi, which was sourced to be a major cause of their destruction. So it is not negative to many.

Do you think it's entirely possible that the secret combinations that Nephi used to obtain the plates from Laban were ultimately the very inspiration and model that the Gadianton robbers ran with and used to justify their actions and plunder ~550 years later?! 💕 keep up the excellent work
@thelatterdayteacher3 ай бұрын
No, I can't see how anyone would think that at all. I do not think there is an analogy there in trying to compare a one time mission of Nephi to secure a very important and significant item away from a man who held the sword but turned evil in the sight of the Lord. Gadianton Robbers are inspired by enlisting the evil traditions of Satan, which predate Nephi by thousands of years of practice and refinement by evil men on the earth. That in no way compares to a one time action by Nephi which was never duplicated after he obtained the sword. The dark works of Satan are very sophisticated and have been crafted to meet the times after thousands of years of practice.

Rather than that, look at the arguments of Laman and Lemuel. ; Nephi stole our birth right. Therefore let us kill him and take it back. In looking at their arguments, L&L wanted to kill Nephi over the right to rule, but they didn't covet the scriptures or the plates, which is kind of ironic and shows how flawed they are. L&L don't even have interest in the plates, ONLY in the right to rule. Also whats' very interesting is when you hear the arguments and literature of the marxists, they kind of quote the same thing; take back what's ours by force and by blood. (We're warned against winning property and lands by force and by blood.) The arguments of the robbers are,; so and so robbed us, so we'll rob them and therefore we're justified in this. This is their thinking. Later when you read the robbers letter in 3rd Nephi, and about them, they covet the right to rule. They didn't even want the records. They mostly wanted Laconius to hand over the right to govern to them. Not their records. The robbers taught this based on some corruptive adaptation of Nehor's teaching and other things also. Marxism harnesses hate this way and some middle east groups also recruit this way. There's a lot of similarity between marxism and the robbers; take back what's yours by force. (But in the end its a lie and only an elite group at the top get anything while others are held captive by them.) This is the same secret combination of Cain's murder of Abel, how a lot of evil was and has been done throughout the world since the beginning of time; also including Nimrod. Laman & Lemuel, they taught their children to hate Nephi, and Nephites. But there was no justification for them to do so. Nephi was blameless. They hated that he was appointed to be their ruler and teacher. Nephi was innocent. He can't be blamed for what others did. And it bothers me to acknowledge the source of the robbers to be Nephi as that would legitimize them. It doesn't legitimize them and Nephi was innocent and pure. Also the robbers didn't show up until much much later without anything in between. So its not valid to create similarities between the robbers and Nephi & the plates. Its a false argument, you can't win this way because it is against the Lord's way of doing things. Also; the plates... people don't understand how sacred they are. They did not belong to Laban. And he didn't get them legitimately. They were to be passed on to the most righteous people, the most righteous patriarchs in a family. Why do you think they are said to go get the plates? They weren't told bring Laban with them, who has the plates. Laban would not have been allowed to have the plates as (I would argue) he was living somewhat like King Noah. It would be better that 1 man should perish than that a whole nation (and hundreds of nations after) should die in unbelief. (Completely opposite of the robbers, who would murder whole nations for the right of 1 man to rule). Also people miss a very interesting argument. in 1st Nephi they quote, Laban has 50 soldiers, even he can command 50. So he can also slay 50, so he will slay us. Thus they feared him. If you think about it... if Laban had 50 soldiers... that's a lot of payroll. He could not have supported that many soldiers of a private army without having already been a predator before then. Laban was a murderer. So when he decides to plunder their gold when they went to trade for the plates, I believe he'd already had practice with that many times before; it doesn't say that, but he had no moral stumbling in making a fast decision on it, and look how many people he was employing. He was a predator. So when the Lord tells Nephi to slay him its reflective of Laban's actions, and history. And his judgment reflects what he deserves. You see the same pattern in Exodus; Pharaoh receives a judgment (the 1st born) The curse of the fallen firstborn of Egypt, reflects that the Egyptians already had tried to slay the hebrew male children once. And they were about to do so again. But the bottom line is The plates weren't Labans. He stole them. And many people think the plates originally came from Joseph of Egypt himself (reformed Egyptian...)(This last part I can't prove, but it seems to be the case.) I also hope this supports what 'thelatterdayteacher' said and believe it supports his answer. I also have found the videos of this channel very insightful and good. I hope he will share more of his thoughts and videos, and his gift to help others understand the gospel better.

I find your comment interesting, primarily for the comparison of populations of church membership between one country, the United States, vs. the combined total of every other country to the south, including the continent of South America. That would be, give or take, about 7 million each, according to the information that is publicly available. The bulk of that growth in South America is encapsulated in an NBC News article, from 20 years ago: www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna5378318 Verse 11: "And then will I remember my covenant which I have made unto my people, O house of Israel, and I will bring my gospel unto them." "12 And I will show unto thee, O house of Israel, that the Gentiles shall not have power over you; but I will remember my covenant unto you, O house of Israel, and ye shall come unto the knowledge of the fulness of my gospel." But it would seem that since then the growth has not been as explosive on that continent. I am not sure if you are asserting the numbers of membership in the church has "arrived" at acceptable growth levels. I would encourage you to re-think and reassess what exactly is the point you are trying to make here, based on the following facts: The continent of South America as a whole recently climbed above 443,000,000, according to Worldometer. That approximate 1% is a tough alignment to attampt if you consider the magnitude of Verses 11-12 are inferring. And these two continents remain under the power, if not assumed ownership of the governments that reside on them. I do not see that current power structure as having a connection to the church and restoring the lands to the people from whom they were stolen from. I invite you go back and rewatch the video where 3 Nephi 16 is explained. It is not a scripture that indicates slightly over 1% membership in a continent would indicate reaching the goal described in that scripture verse.

I kind of wish men and women could understand each other more. It feels almost like we're 2 different species. And it feels like when you are dating or married to someone that, its difficult to not be pulled in entirely different directions. And especially society REALLY pulls women to want to do what other women want them to do. And as a priesthood holder I don't understand why women will want to be close to their kids but completely ignore their husband. All my life I've seen that once women get what they want, they ignore their husband and that he is the last thing on their mind. I don't understand this. And I don't see how this will ever be reconciled if this mentality continues. And its weird especially because to men, their hearts are on their wife continually. Almost constantly. Yet why don't women feel the same about us? I wish leaders or more instruction or something could address this more. And I'm trying to actually live the gospel and still have experienced this. Its got to be much worse for people that don't even accept the gospel or not living it. Because there's more enmity and darkness in the world when you don't have the light of the gospel. /// I hope that somehow men and women will one day have more love to one another. In this life it feels like its so hard to reach one another on a spiritual and emotional connection level. So we need SOMETHING in order to bring us together. Its already hard. Like when I see family members, most of their interactions with men, are usually only when they need or want something. They don't really want to even hang out or talk to their men except to demand something or need money, etc. So we need something to bring us together... although I am not suggesting a focus on lust. /// And I hope you or others can reply to me on this as Its something I've been earnestly hoping for more inspiration regarding.

@@thelatterdayteacher I'm curious why asked about defamatory sources? I don't see that he did or asked something defamatory unless it came from a different video where you started talk to him? If you are asking about this, I would tie in and reinforce what your purpose and intent is if you state something negative. This is the pattern in D&C 50; the verses on edification how 2 people build one another up. Show an increase of love afterwards when you have to rebuke your child. Its the same with gospel investigators. Sometimes you have to bring up something negative, so afterwards you want to show increase of faith and assurance. Let me further clarify. You don't want to bring up something defamatory. I wouldn't use those. But sometimes there's things that are negative because of behavior in the church that have to be brought up in order to be corrected and then sometimes people mistakenly think its defamation, but your intent may have been to correct a wrong point. But they didn't understand it. And this is why you reassure like a parent. Example 1; Jacob rebukes the members of his day for lusting after having concubines. He's teaching them something they are doing is wrong. Now in the modern day example, someone might not realize we're allowed to encourage and exhort someone or other members. Its an Aaronic priesthood responsibility even. So we might see something we're doing wrong and bring attention to it. But others don't know us, we're not in their ward. So they might think we're bashing when we're actually wanting a wrong to be corrected, or for correction teaching of a matter to be brought forth so the gray area isn't exploited further. Some might misunderstand that as defamation based on their own weaknesses. But if you come back and reassure of intent and purpose and that your purpose is to build up not destroy it helps to not have misunderstands that might be misconstrued as defamatory when they aren't.
