honestly i wish more people were like Pat back then when there was a huge kickstarter boom for projects that would ultimately fail to deliver or sometimes not even come out with anything. sure he wasn’t responsible for the project but so many content creators would hype a kickstarter up and a percentage of their following will invest. having a following is a huge responsibility and even almost a decade ago Pat realized that. Good on him.

What's crazy is that Pat is 100% right about culpability of things like influencers promoting a shitty product, even in good faith. Doesn't make them literal Hitler. But it's not absolution either. Liam (and to a lesser extent Matt & Woolie) just didn't seem to get it. This isn't hyperbolic Pat being Pat. This was a rare moment of crystal clear Pat wisdom. As much as I like them all, this is three dudes being 100% wrong.
@NovaBombardment2 ай бұрын
I love how the whole things starts with "I read this comic out of pure spite because people I don't know pestered me endlessly to do so" and then Woolie expects a really nuanced critique out of that. I think a lot of people online tend to forget that people can in fact be openly biased about something, and that it's completely normal. When Woolie comes poking the stick to the person that clearly just hates something openly, it comes off as really snobbish for him to try and take the high ground in an argument that isn't actually important to the person he's poking. Pat's often accused of grabbing at straws, but that's mainly because he doesn't actually have a super thought out view on something other than that he hates it. You don't always have a perfect court case level argument for something you don't really care about.

I love Superman because of his insane ability to overcome obstacles, and it primarily stems from my lack of ability to overcome my own obstacles. HOWEVER, after a while an unstoppable character must meet and unstoppable force and be brought down to the level of the common man. If he is just always winning and always soloing any enemy with zero build-up to his failure, he will remain defacto boring for all time

Superman is boring because they put an athlete in a race against handicap kids and they love Superman so much that even when they give him true competition like flash they buff up Superman to do things he can't do and break the legs of the competition just to make Superman look good. The problem with Superman is that they love him too much and instead of making a good character they just suck him off.

But it's not a bad thing to be positive. When someone enjoys something and you think they're wrong, even if a majority of people eventually come around to agreeing with you, there's nothing good about making them feel bad about it.

Well how come TOEI animated other shows like Slayers exceptionally well in the 90s...in the 90s. There's two sequel series around 2010 similar to DBS so it's Slayers and Slayers...Super? Ha ha. And it didn't look the same I'll say that. Art style was much different. BUT TOEI did that in the 90s. Koyama was the series structure...guy. And Saint Seiya in the 90s was TOEI too. Koyama and TOEI involved in the anime and movies. Why can't TOEI do that with DBS why can't they make DBS look like Slayers, Slayers Next, Slayers Try, or Saint Seiya Sanctuary, Asgard and Hades arcs? Soul of Gold too but that's like 2014 and most of it looked good but a bit of DBS type stuff too. Is it TOEI or does Toriyama tell them to draw Kakarot and all them with that new art style? Because whether it's good animation or bad animation, the art style really is the big picture. Toriyama said something about how saiyans or the ultimate alien body type for fighting is this slimmer skinnier build so, I'm pretty sure the art style is done by TOEI that way because of Toriyama. Not TOEIs fault. So we gotta start blaming Toriyama and not blame TOEI for everything.
