My theme in life when it comes to anything electrical is 'Check your grounds'. I don't know how many times that I have replaced something in the way of electronics or electrical only to find out that the problem was a bad ground or a corroded connection.

Great video Andy!! I have never seen such a vague, obscure or just kooky "try this" remedy actually "fix" a problem. "Kick any 2 front tires twice, turn the key on and off 4 times, leave it on the last time, kick any of the rear tires twice, best to kick left side tires, turn off key & flash the lights twice. That should keep your tractor running in tip-top form!"

Red, green, blue, yellow and orange all break. In most cases Deere's dealer support and parts tracking beats the others more often than not. Having a guy like Jake on your local team is just another great asset to the Deere team.

Not every dealer is that good, but the best earned their business, and are 100% customer focused. Service after the sale leads to more sales, and quality staff is more important than parts in stock. Color doesn't matter, the people do.

What ? It varies greatly from dealer to dealer the Deere dealer here is mediocre at best they've lost a lot of business to Agco here, there's A lot of Massey's and Fendts, our Agco dealer is way better than Deere.

Andy is lucky to get the excellent dealer support and service from caz equipment that he does and I have family that used to farm in the upstate area years ago and had the same experience at their old location. They stand behind the local farmers that are left in that area . Here in central Florida not so much you’re lucky if the local Deere service dept can fix your riding lawn mower the first time without having to go back several times just for them to level a mower deck properly. Or go to pick a mower up because the noise underneath the deck was fixed just to find out it still makes the same noise. Excellent dealer support , sales and service close to your operation makes all the difference In what brand you buy .

Takes me back to the 60s on my grandparents farm. They had a McCormick-Deering drill that was originally pulled by horses. I would ride on the back to keep checking the alfalfa seed boxes while planting oats. I was wondering if they still planted alfalfa and oats/wheat at the same time because you are planting alfalfa on it's own but I see that the drill is still set up to do both at once.

Just a remark about your transmission fluid in the Allison. On the old Ford C6s from the 1960s we often used hydraulic fluid in these if we didn't have ATF. Very similar viscosity and makeup. This was generally a stop gap measure and if the vehicle was to be driven tens of thousands of more miles we'd pldrain the transmission and then put new ATF in. But in an old vehicle, who knows? I never ran something long term on hydraulic fluid to know how long or well it would work in the transmission. I'm not familiar with Allison ATF but the G.M. transmifluid from decades ago was somewhat different from that of Fords or Mopars. The G.M. Dexron, I think it was called, was dyed a more orangy colour and it also had a burnt smell when it was brand new. Ford's and Mopar's both looked like hydraulic fluid of the time, cherry red and no burnt smell. If you drained the Allison entirely then perhaps you got rid of some filings or debris from the valve body and the hydraulic fluid is similar enough in viscosity to work. Probably some different additives but it's very possible the base oil product of for both ATF and hydraulic fluid are the same thing, at least in viscosity terms.
