If I was the Prime Minister of The UK or Australia after this event I would make a severe drastic law to BAN all glass bottles and glass cups and only serve in plastic cups and cans THATS IT!!!! As a dog behaviourist i feel what he think he did was spot the biggest baddest person in the place. Its why alcohol is truly the worse drug as you'll black out and run on animalistic behaviour. These unprovoked attacks are getting out of hand. I don't know anyone, yet I know of a man with brain damage after a guy approached him one night and punched him unconscious, while he kicked at his head while he lay lying in the street. He had to learn to talk and walk again, but he'll never be 100%. The attacker got off. Men are not told of these dangers. Society is completely breaking down. The attacker doesn't know why he did it. They act on impulse. Heightened aggression and lowered inhibitions. It's no consolation, but there is never a motive with these types of attacks.

Pubs and clubs need to ban glassware after 9pm

This story doesn't match what was reported. The official report was that the two bumped into each other while Mr Syron was walking back from the toilet. They then took part in an arm wrestling contest after which the perpetrator, Gareth Dean, picked up a glass and smashed it into Mr Syron's face. I'm not saying what the perpetrator did was right but it seems there was both verbal and physical exchanges prior to it escalating to the glassing. "Entirely unprovoked" doesn't seem correct according to the report.
