@@TheSariza which model of headunit and what car? Could be a faulty canbus box 🤷‍♂️ or bad connections to the canbus box

@@whatsdavedone104 a chinese one Carplay Android 12 from aliexpress, i have a Golf 5 2006. The electrician had cut them from the canbus (red and orange cable, then he connected the small black plug connector to the ignition fuse (twisted to one pole) but this was draining my battery. I twisted them and connected them again with duct tape :D to see if it will work. I have the unit to sleep mode off, so it reboots every time. It is like the unit awaits the car to "sleep" and only then works again. Do you think if i connect them solid will solve this issue? I have already ordered the kit for the 2nd fuse etc.

Do you have a link to the unit? I never recommend purchasing unbranded unit as there is no customer service to help with issues....probably not android 12, more likely android 10 faked to look like android 12

@lukaaleksic1108 yes you can just connect the ground and indicator wires

@ucnhtmenow1 it can be triggered by wiring directly to the reverse bulb...if you have a canbus box you don't need to wire to reverse bulb

Have you tried all usb ports? Uninstall the DAB-Z app and reinstall with the dongle already plugged in

@rullverine very odd 🤔 are the usb wires fully seated into the headunit? If you connect your phone via usb is it recognising that?

Yes that will supply 12v to the camera

Look for 2 wires, red and yellow, the plug is on these wires....hope that helps

No can't say I have🤔 maybe you screen needs recalibrating.....should be able to do it via the settings

@@whatsdavedone104lol no like it the screen is literally getting controlled remotely. Songs are changing on their own or they’re going into different apps in the headunit

@krisztian3909 which dab app are you using? Uninstall and reinstall it with the dab dongle plugged in. Are you using factory dab aerial or aftermarket?

I don't know much about DSG, never owned one but yes they have a second thermostat is belive. Diesel engines do take longer to reach temp over petrol, mine takes approximately 7miles, with heating off and ambient air temp of approximately 5⁰.....coolant temp gauge at 90⁰ isn't a true temp reading it's generally around 10⁰ lower than 90⁰

Once the engine is at 90⁰ it should stay there under all driving conditions....unless your thermostat has an issue. Having you dpf taken out doesn't have anything to do with the coolant temp, coolant temp is only controlled by the thermostat

For Bluetooth....open Bluetooth setting on phone and search for devices....Bluetooth name Eonon and connect. WiFi, pull down from top of the screen, tap WiFi tab and then search for the WiFi connection you want to use 😀

Sensors as in parking sensors? I adjusted the sound and volume using Carista app....can also be done with VCDS. Parking sensors speaker isn't controlled the headunit, they have their own separate speakers.

@ yes, the parking sensors. They seemed to be more audible when I had the original vw head unit.

@roblloyd826 don't know why that would be....if you unplug the unit the sensors will still beep as they are only a separate system and separate speaker 🤷‍♂️

@@whatsdavedone104 does the Eonon VWA12S have an auto mute function, so that when the parking sensors activate, the music automatically mutes?

@roblloyd826 only if you have the reverse camera working at set to mute when reverse is selected....if reverse camera is off then unit doesn't know when car is in reverse so won't mute

It's actually nearly 2 years, on this Golf since having the dpf "cleaned" in that time I have done 32k miles issue free 😀 My 1.6 golf had it done 5 years and 70k miles ago also issue free 👍 would i recommend it? 100%

@whatsdavedone104 oil filter is different though, this is just for "pollen". If you hoover it and wipe it down I'm sure you can reuse it? I have a carbon one

@KkKk-px2le ok....would you reuse an air filter?.....it's a serviceable part so it needs replacing. Over time it will start to leave your car hvac system smelling bad

Go into Google playstore on the headunit and check for all app updates. Obviously you need hot-spot connected to update

The light output is far better than factory fogs lights. Can't share pictures on KZbin comments Unfortunately 🤷‍♂️

What car are you changing the heater core on? Right hand drive VW Golfs don't have a knee air bag on the passenger side🤔

The is a wire on the back of the headunit for power to camera "reverse 12+" that's where you get the power from

They are only required if running an aftermarket amp, just leave them unconnected 👍

I ended up cable ties and large spanners....held spanners against the pipes then cable tied to cars plastic to get leverage to hold pipes in place to free up both hands....its a bitch of a job 😑

@@whatsdavedone104 Sure is I will go back at it in the morning, in hindsight I think I should have left the old rubbers on the pipes, but I cut them off so no going back. Well done on getting it back together its absolute torture.

If you went to VW specialist they would charge over £800 as they take the full dash out....just think of the money you are saving 🤣 don't forget to top up your coolant when finished

@ that’s really annoying, I think it’s to do with what type of instrument cluster you have mine is the basic golf s 59 reg so maybe if it was a 10 plate onwards I’d be able to get it

@sunilbfd5268 that could be the issue 59 plate are 1k0 parts, same as mk5...10 plate onwards are 5k0

Both my MK6s have the egr mapped closed....because I know how much trouble they can be 😉 both are stage 1 mapped with dpf and egr deleted from ecu

XP, RCZ etc is the make of canbus box, VW units use simplesoft or Raise....if you can find car model work down the list of Toyota models unit you find one that works, displays the correct "car info" steering controls and doors open etc

It piggy backs off the 12v socket (cig lighter) they light up when ignition is turned on as the 12v port is ignition live, not constantly live

@@whatsdavedone104so does this mean when you used the cirgaret lighter to connect your usb cables.It means that your cigarette light port will not function as there is no power input there?Is that correct?

@briansibanda4969 cig pprt still has power along with the 2 usb ports, I can still use the 12v port and usbs at the same time

@briansibanda4969 it's a piggy back of harnesses...the cig lighter is using its original harness, then the USB ports piggy back of that....yes i unplugged the original harness to connect the usbs but then it plugs back in....it's like a daisy chain

Software and firm ware are only available from the manufacturer of the unit, using wrong files can "brick" the unit. You would need to contact the seller

The blue wire is only an option if you have puddle lights in your mirrors...blue wire goes to 12v of puddle light.
