For years I was hearing all sorts of horror stories about coral bleaching and the reef dying - then a few months back I read an article from an _actual_ ocean biologist (as opposed to the legion of 'experts' that the government trots out every year) and the total lack of urgency was very telling. "Oh no, coral has a death and regrowth cycle. That bleaching and dying you've been seeing for years? Yeah, it's supposed to do that. And it turns out, this year has actually been a really _good_ for coral! Something to do with the warmer climates, maybe, we're not sure."

As a West Australian,sailing over the top.North of Cooktown,went through a pink zone,NO GO zone.It extends 6km off the coast.You can hug the coast,no problem,it doesn’t start at the coast.It extends into the natural course any vessel would take moving along the coast.It is as remote as you can get and small vessels,this would be the last thing on your mind.Why set up a NO GO ZONE when every man and his dog is likely to travel through it 🤓🤓🤓 I was let off with a caution and as far as I can tell,it’s the ONLY one ON the coast.
