I remember seeing it the packed theatre vividly. Groundbreaking and beautifully done. The ending was crushingly painful, perfect.

Cheryl looks unhappy - jaded by her position. Kate, Jaclyn, and Cheryl are lying. There is tension between them.

This was great & painful at the same time...hard to believe the host wasn't given an agenda of sorts and told to stick to it...

Saw him a couple of years ago while he was in Wilmington (DE) working...it was his off time, he went to the annual antique show held there...I heard him interacting with a few people, and he could not have come off more normal/nice if he tried...a very pleasant man...

Clearly aimed at the women's picture market with the sloshy music, making her the principal character, though that is obviously the doctor in the middle of the triangle.

Fascinating document - after the anti-gay booers (a small group), David Brenner immediately confronts them with an insult. Homophobia is no longer cool in mainstream popular culture in 1982.

I was 14 years old when this film came out. I asked my Mother to take me to see it and she was having none of it. I thought Zac and Bart were gorgeous. I love Kate Jackson as well. This movie was amazing. When I a young adult, I finally got to see it and it changed my life. It made me realize at the time that I was not the only one struggling with who I was…. Making Love was one of the best movies ever made of its time… thank you for the cast, crew and writers for this masterpiece.

Beautiful man inside and out. Fell in love with Harry since I first meet him on Clash of the Titans and I absolutely LOVED his performance of Bart in Making Love. Thanks so much for this interview. I wish a special blu ray edition of this wonderful movie was released including a lot of extra material from the era and including that 2nd kiss 20th Century Fox stoled from us before they break up.

Every version of the film I've seen since the original release has been edited to remove the so-called "offensive" lines to make it more palatable . 😡

I so enjoyed stumbling across this brief interview. I’d love ‘Making Love’ to be rereleased or remade and burst onto screens worldwide again. It’s still as relevant today, if not more so, than it was over 40 years ago when the world wasn’t ready to face up to the truth that stems from people living in denial; not understanding or accepting of their truth, let alone those closest to them being ‘allowed in’. The movie should have helped saved a hell of a lot more heartache and tragedy over the last few decades than it actually did, I believe.

It took courage for Harry Hamlin to take this role. If you were associated with "gay" then your career was done with.

Kate was the one that helped come up with the name for Charlie's Angels. They wanted to call it Alley Cats and then the title was changed. It was mostly her idea for the show. She was great in everything she did. I loved her on The Rookies back in the 70's.

A consumate pro with class and intelligence. Her work ethic, kind nature, and natural analytical approach to explaining her work and life in general is refreshing and helps people in 2024 understand that working women in the 1980s were not all kept in some kind of suppressed silence as some pretend. I am not saying things were perfect but we now characterize the past in an overly negative light.

Great interview. Most interviews from that time would have gone more salacious and voyeuristic. “What was it like kissing a man? Did you like it? Were you concerned it would turn you homosexual?” “Most people find homosexuality to be morally objectionable. What do you say to those people?” This interviewer asked much better questions, more interested in the acting and film making process. Very respectful. I’m glad to see it.

David Brenner is a terrible host. All over the place. “Oh, yeah, the movie!” I mean, sheesh. And what the heck was up with the audience? They almost seemed hostile. Kate Jackson managed the situation so well, though, with a lot of grace and clear-headedness.

He was pretty sexy. I remember seeing Making Love with my partner when it came out. I was about 16 years old and this was the first movie that gave me hope for finding love. Prior to Making Love most movies with gay themes were either portraying gay men as diseased or psychopath murderers or miserable queens. The only other movie with positive gay character prior might be Cabaret. I commend the actors for this movie, during the homophobia of the early 80s doing a "gay" movie could ruin a career. Kate was also very good in her role. The movie was honest to the time period. I connect this movie to falling in love with my first husband who sadly passed away when I was only 25 though we had about 10 years together.

She was a smart person. SOMETIMES it is who you know not what you know. I love what she said however i wish she could've been more blunt. It would've been professional suicide for her to have said, the scrips sucked and it was all tits and ass. I want more to work on than how to arch backwards, push my tits out, and smack my lips!!! I loved her!! She did mrs. King really well. They were right at the preface of being married and equal and spys!! Such a shame she passed away.❤

It took a long long time for Cheryl to realise that Kate was crucial to the show's success and that she should have been nicer to Kate. A couple years ago Cheryl said in an interview “To be honest, when Kate left after the third season, it all kind of went flat. The show just didn't work as well”.

@@For4Ever-pm6yj The bottom line is that Kate was far and away the most talented actress. Her talent couldn't be replaced by Hack who was a mediocre actress. Both Ladd and Smith were better but still fell into mediocre. Kate was virtually the acting glue that held the show together for three seasons.
