I came to Saint Paul Island just one day this summer with Hurtigruten Expeditions and now found this overwhelming documentary about the Pribilof islands and their history. Thank you so much dear Aquilina, also for the dance presentation you gave on that day of our visit. What a pity we couldn't stay longer to better understand your way of life

Yeah, its a NOAA feel good commercial. No mention of the shallow water booms in the valdez response trailers that were useless in ocean swells, no mention of the toxic chemical, Inipol EAP22, that was sprayed on the beaches by workers without any safety equipment causing many to die from cancer in the coming years. RIP Captain Richard. And what pisses me off is that this commercial was probably made with taxpayer money.

I went snorkeling in the waters just offshore Utulei near Pago Pago at the end of 2022. The debris still remains and very much still in tact. Clothes, tires, poles… Like a time warp.

Thank you for this most interesting and fascinating view into your culture. I am half Italian, Scott Irish and 1/4 Cherokee Indian. My best friend Jean Black Elk was full-blooded Lakota and Oglala Sioux. We were friends for 50 years until she crossed over to the Stars. I know more about being a Lakota then being Cherokee Indian. I was raised on the shores of Lake Erie not in North Carolina - Cherokee country. The Erie Indians of our area up here on the Great Lake had to move east and assimilate with the Seneca Indians.

An interesting Fact: Russia saved these seals and had hunting regulations. But after selling Alaska to the United States these regulations are gone, and the mass murder of seals and other animals begun.

I ran a Dive boat in the Uk we did away with ladders nearly 20 year’s ago and installed diver lifts lessons the chance of technical deep divers getting PFO’s coming up a ladder with twin sets increases the chance of PFO. Did anyone consult Divers when designing the boat? Diver lifts are so much safer, also trying to recover unconscious or incapacitated diver.
