Hey bro did you make a full recovery. I had the same sort of operation. Tibia plateau screws etc And did you get the screws and plate removed or are they permanently in there ?
@Adeysworld5 ай бұрын
Hey man, I healed with no issues. I didn't have the plates and screws removed. At first, it was awkward to run, I could feel the plates around my tibia. But over time that feeling went away. It's best to be as active as you can be. Or you can have them removed. It's a relatively pain-free process, the only thing you have to heal from is the incision area(few days sore). I had plates and screws removed from my forearm. They left a screw in there because it's surrounded by bone. Helps with my elbow strikes in Muay Thai. lol

This was oddly satisfying to watch and while the patient may have been in a bit of pain during the procedure, I’m sure they’re satisfied too.

Do you push on the bar to counter steer into your lean or are you just leaning Complete novice here
@Adeysworld8 ай бұрын
There is an even push/pull effect. Your inside hand to the corner you’re entering is pushing, while the outside hand evenly pulls with equal force. You do it on pedal bike to change direction, but we as kids don’t think about the action of it. So when you do it on a motorcycle, it begins to have the same effect of not thinking about how much force you’re using but more so how much is needed based on your speed and need for reaction.

My son was in a BAD car accident, will be 2 years in Feb, a old lady smashed into him head on and landed on top of his (small ) car, he had 3 compound fractures in his leg, 2 in lower and one just above his knee, he has had 3 surgeries and it still is not right, and the swelling is BAD around his knee, It has been a year and 7 months and his swelling still have not gone down
@Adeysworld Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear about your son's accident, the pain, and trauma are devasting. Joint swelling is serious and there is no telling when it goes away. I had a worse accident than this 2012 accident in 2016 where I shattered my right elbow, and broke my right forearm and left ankle. I think the swelling in my ankle took over a year to go away fully. If he's had multiple surgeries on his knee, I can only guess that his body hasn't had time to heal yet. He may have a lot of scar tissue in there as well. Might be good to see another surgeon to determine if some scar tissue can be removed.

@@Adeysworld It will be 2 years in Feb, and his femur still has not healed fully, he is basicly walking on the hardware, Rod from his hip to his knee INSIDE his femur, He doesnt take pain meds at all even though alot of the time he is in alot of pain, He will be going soon for a MRI to see if things are ok or if he needs yet another surgery, Fingers crossed he doesnt
@Adeysworld Жыл бұрын
@@dfe1497 Yeh I was the same way, I stopped taking the pain meds when I got home from the hospital. I felt like a dope fiend on them, not my thing. Pain is whatever, men don't care as much. Is there no option to have the hardware removed? I still have all my hardware, I'm just too lazy to have them removed.
@dfe1497 Жыл бұрын
@@Adeysworld No, can not remove the hardwear because femur isnt healed, he will have the rod that is inside his femur for rest of his life, They took the bone marrow out of the middle of his femur replaced that with a rod then put the marrow around the outside of the bone in hope it would heal,
