For more melodic sections where its not just ambiance, get the free Synth plugins by Noise engineering(sinc vereor and virt vereor), and apply lots of delay and reverb to it, and do some mysterious sounding arpeggios.

Great video. Me personally, I would’ve added more elements from halo 2 and 3’s soundtrack, as this game’s ost really is like those 2 combined

good observations about tunic ost. i like the textures of a result, but I think it quite significantly deviates from tunic vibes in riff and melody, it sounds very candential and more straightforward, like zelda. And probably due to that some chord changes feel forcefully dark. But some tunic palette is definitely there!

Congratulations, and thank you for your explanation! A friend of mine use the Digitakt/tone. I use Maschine but I love to inspire my creations from this OST. Tunic is one of my fav' game ever, for sure.

aww dude not to spoil anything but the second ending has an absolute banger that isn’t heard at any other point in the game. would’ve been great for you to take a look at that one

Another great entry to the series. I think you nailed it with "wandering, but not entirely lost" - feels like the perfect summation of not just this game but cats in general, as you mentioned. The gradual build-up as the track progresses is dope; very subtle but each layer is still identifiable. I think various drones would work as well; one of the first things that came to mind for me personally when it comes to thinking of cats purring, the prevalence of air ducts and AC vents in-game and the typical go-to for sci-fi/dystopic/ambient scene setting. Great job man!

Congratulations ! You really well captured the whole TUNIC athmosphere with this new track ! Also, did you know that all the TUNIC sounds got a meaning in the game's language ? I am wondering if your creation would mean something in that language as well :p ! Again, big congratulation !

Finishing the Golden Path was one of the most rewarding experiences I've had after many years of playing video games. Largely because of the soundtrack, this moment will stay with me. To the sound of "Snowmelt", I took out my cell phone and drew a mental map going through the puzzle, while writing down all the necessary inputs in a notebook. Seeing the door opening, with an extremely satisfying melody and then a calm... Only art and passion involved in the creation of this work.

Damn, this is good! As you demonstrated with the 7th Atmos preset, the technique of sampling a chord and playing it as a single sample is derived from the scene Terada emerged out of, late 80s-early 90s house/rave/techno, allowing for these kinds of chromatic compositions you hear in his music. Set the attack and release to near-zero for those ever-iconic choppy chords a-la early The Prodigy :P
@steed13644 ай бұрын
I appreciate this comment! - I actually had the realization when reflecting on how this video went that I didn't talk much at all about the sampling process itself and how integral it is for the genre and time period, whoops. Guess little misses like that happen when you're dipping your toes in a new genre for the first time! This is good stuff tho - pinning this comment!

I had no idea how to go about making anything like Ape Escape's soundtrack, but thanks to this video I now do! I definitely will come back and reference this video in the future. Thanks!

Ape Escape was my first exposure to DnB as well! Pizza Hut demo discs were the best thing they’ve ever done! Pizza be damned lmao I actually bought a copy of this OST and I have it on my shelf unopened, I don’t think I ever will! I like your interpretation of Mr Terada’s work! I’ve been studying him for years and I’ve finally nailed down an interpretation of my own. Your info on plugins is very useful ✨✌🏾✨ Please keep doing what you’re doing!
