Vajra Armor Mantra!!! I chant this during covid! My mom got covid and she was in the High-Risk group due to age and all, and during the entire time of her dealing with it, I chanted this nonstop, hoping she gets better and I dont get sick too, and she got better in 2 weeks, she doesnt get long covid, and I was not infected the entire time. This mantra is still my go-to mantra when it comes to healing and sicknesses, alongside Medicine Buddha's mantra and the 7 Medicine Buddha Dharani.

There are many forms of Vajrapani, including at the level of highest yoga tantra. These come from different lineages and make use of different mantras. I have directly received an extremely broad range of Vajrapani mantras, including those of Sakya, Nyingma, Gelugpa, Karma Kagyu, and True Buddha / Ling Shen school. These are all major practices of purification and protection. Overall the respective mantras are very different from each other. However, I can say that there is a basic mantra common to different transmissions of Vajrapani : it is HUM VAJRA PHAT. Vajrapani is the specific guardian of the Medicine Buddha teachings. This four syllable mantra is therefore fully authorized for anyone who has received a high initiation of Medicine Buddha. It is also true that basically all transmissions of highest yoga tantra include both high Vajrasattva and high Vajrapani. The high protector aspect of Kalacakra known as Vajravega can be considered to be a [ five Buddha ] form of Vajrapani. The major Old School / Nyingma deity Vajrakilaya can be considered as a [ five Buddha ] form of Vajrapani. The form of Vajra Armor / Dorje Gotrab I received from Lama Wangdor many years ago includes a number of deities and Great Perfection / Dzogchen authorization. There are apparently several legitimate Tibetan masters who have published online audio recordings [ as reading transmissions, basic authorizations ] for Vajra Armor / Dorje Gotrab. To me as a longtime professional class tantric practitioner the transmission and practice of Vajra Armor are of very high importance. This practice has many diverse major benefits for healing, purification, protection and removal of obstacles, and I intend to promote it online in a very broad, serious way via links to audio recordings provided by lamas.

In the Karma Kagyu lineage, Mahakala Bernagchen (Black Cloak) is an emanation of Vajrapani. Inseparable from Karmapa, he is extremely powerful.

I see no direct connection between Black Cloak Mahakala and Vajrapani. It can be proven that the Six Arm Mahakala of the Shangpa Kagyu School is a manifestation of Avalokitesvara. This is demonstrated in the long Wisdom Six Arm Mahakala mantra. The Two Arm Mahakala of the Nyingma school is definitely a manifestation of Mahasri Heruka, the wrathful Samantabhadra. The Sakya school protector Mahakala Panjaranatha is not identified as a manifestion of any wisdom angel, tho it is practiced in conjunction with Vajrapani Bhutadamara. The Four Armed Mahakala [ Chaturbhuja Mahakala ] is a manifestation of Cakrasamvara. Mahakala is a class of wisdom deities and also a class of demonic beings. The Buddhist Mahakala subjugates and rules the demonic Mahakalas. Technically, the wrathful form of Hindu god Shiva is a kind of Mahakala. There are many forms of Vajrapani and many forms of Mahakala. I have lots of direct transmissions for both. I have the Karma Pakshi empowerment, which includes Vajrapani and Mahakala Bernagchen, and also the Bernagchen practice text. The Bernagchen practice is extremely sophisticated and includes many parts. The Bernagchen text for Karma Pakshi does not mention Vajrapani, so the judgement here is that you guessed wrong. In general, there are many distinct forms of Mahakala and overall these require different tantric empowerments. Very few people and very few Buddhist gurus have received a general set of Mahakalas or a general understanding of Mahakala practices: that is extremely rare.

A question: is this mantra only for ilnesses or for all kinds of problems such bad luck, black magic, hindrances, misfortunes, money problems and poverty, evil doers, haters, job difficult, troublemakers, obstacles, all problems in life etc.? 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏 Vajra Armor is a complete practice certainly, since Vajrapani is an Enlightened Bodhisattva. This mantra's ultimate goal is a liberation of body, speech and mind. The activity of removing obstacles, poisons (especially the five major poisons of the five Buddha families) and all negativity is the path and when combined with the noble Bodhisattva aspiration of helping all sentient beings, becomes complete. We are purifying body, speech, and mind -- which is the activity path (Vajrapani is Bodhisattva of Activity of all the Buddhas). The practice contains the three realms purification, the three kayas liberation. This is the action of the mantra and the visualizatin of the five colors of purifying light of the five Buddha Families. Any of the eight great Bodhisattvas, or any Enlightened Buddha practice can b a complete path if you practice it with that as your goal and focus. To practice this in this way, as we recited here, always take Refuge in the Three Jewels, remain mindful of the seven limbs of Bodhisattva practice, and dedicate the merit for the benefit of all sentient beings. 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

I guarantee that in the traditional teaching of Padmasambhava the Vajra Armor / Dorje Gotrab practice provides a broad range of benefits. It is for physical and mental sickness, for psychic protection, for astrological weaknesses and oppositions, for purification of karma. I received this transmission as a Great Perfection / Dzogchen practice, so the mantra is also for revealing and developing primordial pure awareness. Yes this mantra is for subjugating evildoers and abusive persons. Yes, this mantra is for removing *all* obstacles, which would include money issues, tho that is not specifically mentioned in the source text. The mantra is of great value in purifying Mahayana vows and tantric vows.

🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏Yes, listening is still helpful, especially if you mindfully listen. Your mind is doing "mental recitation" in this case, which is considered every bit as powerful. Even if you casually listen, there's still benefit because you are planting the seeds of merit. Ultimately, of course, it's best to find time to recite mindfully. The degree of benefit relates to the activation of the mind and also faith. If you listen and visualize the purifying light, with a mind of faith and Bodhichitta (compassionate intention for all beings), it's beneficial. If you listen without focusing on the purification, the benefit is less, but still it is meritorious. In kindness, BW

The actual chant will ALWAYS be far more powerful than passive listening to the mantra. Traditionally, this mantra was given as tantric empowerment. Passive listening can be very beneficial. You can put the mantra on loop and significantly purify the environment.

Certainly. Vajrapani is a Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva's have compassion and love for all beings. The Bodhisattva mission is "to benefit all sentient beings." In Buddhist terms, we say "all beings have Buddha Nature." It is ultimately your own mind, which is inseparable from Buddha Nature, that protects.
