Well can u help us with the pronunciation of beej/seed syllables. For eg. ह्रीं क्लीं हूं so it'll be pronunced hreem kleem hum or hring kling hung.....? How are seed syllables pronunced in Tibet? Cuz in india some ppl pronounce G sound and some m sound in the ending.

Perhaps someday we'll do a video on this. The rule of thumb is to practice mantras as transmitted by your teacher if you have one. This is why your teacher does an oral transmission (lung) of the mantra. This is according to that lineage. If you don't have a teacher yet, then you try to stay as strict to Sanskrit pronunciation as you can. There is no one answer for this, sorry. There are three general scopes -- and then within those, many variants. There's the scholarly scope, the practitioner scope, and the cultural scope (for instance, English-fluent speakers have trouble with the nuances of syllables like "hrih" or "hum". Within these are multiple versions, because not all scholars agree, not all lineages agree. Then, there are some cultural variants, because the lineage is transmitted to multiple countries. Naropa transmitted to Marpa who transmitted to Milarepa, and so on. Naropa one of the greats of a monastery in Bihar. His name was Naro, but in Tibet he is called Naropa. Marpa was from Tibet, and so on. Why I mention this is that there can be no "irrefutable" pronunciation. In Tibet, for example we might pronounc ehum as "hung" for example, and in many areas of India "hum". This is why Padmasambhava guided that faith and Bodhichitta are more important than pronunciation. (You'll probably remember that video 4 foundations and 9 mantra tips from Padmasambhava: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2a9ZH2gZdGUmck&t ) Where you don't have a teacher, of course it's worthwhile to try to stay within the guidelines of Sanskrit -- since Mahayana teachings are mostly (not entirely) recorded in Sanskrit (referring only to Mahayana teachings). Here is a quick guide based on English transliterations of Sanskrit as they're mostly given. I'm not going to try to render this Quick Guide in Devangari here (you'll find this guide in our PDF downloads, usually on most Sadhanas downloads). Quick Sanskrit Guide: 1. Pronounce all the letters. 2. c is always soft as in ‘churn’ 3. ś or ṣ pronounce as in ‘sh’. 4. ḥ softly echoes the preceding vowel (it does not combine to make ch or sh sounds) 5. v sounds close to w (but slightly harder, like “svwaha” ) 6. kh, gh, ch, jh, th, dh, ph, bh: the h’s are pronounced so that th is a “t-h” aspirated sound rather than a “th” sound. (For instance phat is not “fat” it’s ‘p-hut’) 7. Vowels are pronounced: a as in u in cut ā as in father i as in bit ī as in beet u as in put or foot ū as in brute e as in bay (e.g. deva) ai as in sigh o as in hope I hope this helps. Of course, if you're doing a Tibetan mantra, praise or Dharani, you'll want to do it that way. And, if you have a transmission, from a teacher, you do it the way your teacher transmitted it during oral transmission or lung. Hope that helps. In kindness, Lee 🙏🙏🙏

@@BuddhaWeekly thnx I'm Indian and yea i dont have problems with sanskrit...our tongue is that way we can pronounce it with ease. But yesterday I reached a book in which it was mentioned that a lama was pronouncing kim! Hum ...to guide the dead but that has to be of exact a certain frequency. And in india there are many place where tantra is practiced out of them kamakhaya one is considered supreme and here the tibetian is considered the best too. These thoughts made me question me my pronunciation .

🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏 Fantastic. Many of us have many teachers and lineages we've received teachings from, and sometimes the pronunciation varies between the Gurus and lineages as well. The sincerity of heart, the Bodhichitta intention and faith are what truly matters. 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
