Standard mix: equal parts decomposed granite, builder's sand, pumice and organic matter (good potting soil).

No seeing any replies from Charles. Can someone tell me if my ginseng bulb will turn gray with age? Right now it is brown when green (mossy green) from being mass produce in a humid green house. The green is starting to fade away but I only see light brown bark. Thank you in advance.

My ficus died all the way back due to cold shock last fall when Temps changed quickly and I hadn't brought it inside yet. There's no new growth in the branches but shoots are growing up from the roots. Should I cut the old tree body off? Or should I cut off the shoots and start a new tree?
