I validly agree that the sequel saber duels are trash. HOWEVER, something that, in my mind, redeems this quality, is that the 7 saber forms, once practiced by the Jedi, were nonexistent at this point. So saber fighting technique was haphazard at best. (Correct me if I’m wrong)

Y’know, the fight between Darth Maul and Qui Gon while Obi Wan was stuck behind that laser thing made me realize just how criminal it was to skip over those moments when they’d silently wait while the lasers kept them separated. Those iconic moments, whether silent or full of dialogue, scattered in between fights, can’t be denied that they’re part of what made those fights so surreal.
