Missed one music callback: During the "every voice in your head" dialogue, you hear a motif identical to when Palpatine asks Anakin in Episode III, "Are you going to kill me?/I would certainly like to."

I grew up on the prequels and old EU from the 90s and 00s, they are my star wars. but I also as much as I disagree with the plot of the sequels I enjoyed every single one of them, it's Star Wars to the core and people who worked on them did a good job with what they had. Visually the movies are stunning. the mixed use of precticle effects and CGI is beautiful and made my fav prequels obsolete in my eyes. If they have planned the story from the begining it could be the best Star Wars trilogy out there combining all the good stuff from PT & OT together, but it is what it is and I'm pretty sure Disney will learn from this mistake and the next movies will be much better planned and executed.

The Rise of Skywalker felt like a celebration of everything Star Wars. I think it's really nice since it's the last film in the Skywalker Saga, and possibly by extension, the chronology of the franchise.

Why is that so important? It's not like references to the prequels would've contributed to the plot that much. And there was some acknowledgement of them in The Last Jedi as well. And remember that people still pretty much hated the prequels around the time The Force Awakens was being released. But since people have come to appreciate the prequels more, Lucasfilm added more references to each film.
