Do you have experience of lettering on acrylic/plastic ? I have a CNC3018 and want to letter Arcade type switch caps (approx 25x25mm) filling the cut with black or white auto touch up paint. The object is a FlightSim Annunciator driven by Arduino. Any melting problems with plastic or acryl?

Incredible video and one of the most comprehensive thus far. I had two questions to ask: 1. When I set the depth of the material in Easel and loaded the g Code to the Universal G Code, my 4030 CNC router The board thickness is 13.55mm and I had to set it at 25mm in order for it to cut through. Any idea why this is happening? Also, how come when I use the entire 400x300 space in Easel and download the g Code to the Universal g Code tool, it cuts it out much smaller? Even the visualizer in the Unniversal g Code tool shows that it's going to cut it out using the entire 400x300 space. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Starting to get frustrated!

This tutorial is way better than the instructions lol ive connected all wires for stepper motors and connected to pc, the grbl software says everything is ok but the axis are not moving on machine but in the grbl control software they are, so all in all the wires are all plugged in on machine but nothing will move, a blue light flashes when i use jog controls in grbl but nothing actually moves.

Easel used to work with my 3018 Prover. For whatever reason, it no longer does. Every other CAM software works fine, but not Easel. It's a shame too because I really like Easel since I could do everything from design to carve from it. Sad.

You will never get nice clean cut by using such machines with less than 20000spindle To get your relief job done by rhe cnc router You need to do a Roughing pass then a machine relief pass so you don’t lose your profiling pits So you have to start by end mailing bit Then a ball nose Then a v To get very clean 3d job and save some money to your project I hope I could help with anything Remember that it’s not a professional machine so don’t expect alot frome it You seriously have to to use endmill bits for it in the roughing pass And the best to buy an offline hand controled cnc if you are just starting with it to get into the game and I think that it’s available in your country some small cnc machines with an offline control ❤️❤️ All love 💕 🇸🇾❤️❤️

2.54 CM is in one inch. That's 25.4mm per inch. Basically, inches to millimeters, multiply by 25.4. Other way, divide by that.

Nice overview. The initial cut is shallow because the gcode file defines zero Z as the level of the *bottom* of the cut. So when you set Z= board height, it brought the bit down to the board but didn't cut it. A workaround would be to set your origin as far below zero as the depth of cut should be, offsetting X and Y too so that you can start off the build plate and not crash into it. The sample file really should have Z=0 at the top of the part, not the bottom.

Good video helped a lot. The only thing I’m confused about is.. did you show the ring screws being used when you did the bottom sliding those pieces into the metal plate. You show you were using the small screws to do it and the long ones when you did your frame. But then that was the one part of your video that you fast forwarded , when you were also struggling to slide the pieces in to the metal plate ..But I tried the small ones and it was impossible. So I used the long ones. And the long ones work fine So did you end up changing your screws around ?? Your video was very helpful anyways thanks so much. More helpful tben the one the company sends in the instructions. They should pay you to make this video. The only suggestion I have is .. the top part of the video is cut off and a few times I needed to see what you were doing up there lol. That and to explain more clearly which screed you were using in the second part (when you need the bolts on the under rods to attach to the metal base frame thing ) lol. Awesome job tho very very helpful 😀thanks for taking the time to make those video. Idk how you did this without the instructions unless you’ve done it a million times. I’m sure I’m probably not even going to no how to use the machine after tbid. You would think for about four hundred dollars I just paid for tbid machine it should come together omg what a pain. At least some of it I mean come on now gimme a break. They can’t even send it with a few pieces together for all that money there getting four hundred bucks for a few pieces of metal and bags of bolts and screws and a laser what the heck lol

Good video for the most part but you killed me in one place. When you install the first upright you say to put it 165.5 mm from the edge. After doing that and getting ready to tighten down the second up right you switch to 46.5 mm. Had to disassemble all the way back! What a pain.

Yup, I think a little blunder. I am currently assemblying mine and got to that part and thought there was no way his was 165.5mm. Went on alittle video.search to.find the proper.measurement is 46.5. Small slip up, pretty great video.otherwise
