How to Update Your Sainsmart Genmitsu CNC

How do I set up the computer software so that it can actually cooperate with the 1.1 Grbl because my CNC won’t do anything even though I updated it to 1.1

Look on the back of your CNC board. There should be 2 lights, one that says USB, and another one that says 24v, are both lit up? Also, what software are you trying to update it to

I accidentally deleted the Stock software that it comes with so I really want to get it to go back to that but I can’t find it anywhere and I don’t see a USB light or 24 V light I just see lots of 12 V

Is there a way that I can tell what version of the firmware that I am currently using? That way I know if I need to upgrade or not. I have the "generic" version of the 3018 Pro. Thanks!

It was already updated most likely, and updating again should not hurt anything. Only damage it could cause is if you unplug too soon or do something else like that

Tried doing this exactly like these directions but is not completing the upload, just stays there and says uplaoding

It is unnecessary to update to the most recent version. However, you issue could be that it is trying the wrong port, or the machine is not on. I once sat for an hour trying to get a machine to work, only to realize the power strip wasn't on

I changed the baud rate to 115200 (on my cloned 3018 Pro). Problem solved.

Not everyone is a computer genius, keeping that in mind when you say "choose this guy right here." which guy? right where? you went so fast I had to watch the video 4 times to figure out what steps I missed. I was ready to throw my machine out the window, Then you realize you forgot to mention the CNC Machine needs to be attached and on. Stressful
