I think she said: "He turned 9 year old yesterday" might imply that the victim is simply presumed to be missing. I just dread knowing what might have happened to the child before being killed...

I have a theory. Maybe the two pepole are cops? Becuase in the 2nd part of the game we as sonic are oofing those mobs. What if in the first files their looking for a body? And then trying to find who's been oofing all those pepole/ robots whatever they represent. What if sonic is the villan in this story?

bit of a stretch here, but here we go. green mountain is a place in North Carolina. it's not a very populated area. when you pull images of the area up on Google maps, all of them are pretty eerie. always foggy, snowy, or in darkness. all of this is making me think that this game could be leading everyone to a real incident that could've happened in this area. i don't know if i'm right on this (i'm probably not), but this is just a drastic guess of mine that I had to share somewhere. i dug into this a bit more, and found something kind of disturbing. i found a triple family homicide case in that exact area. and it happened relatively recently too, around 2 years ago (as of me posting this comment). still doubt this is the reason why this game was made, but... there are possible links. i am not the type to be looking further into this, and i doubt anyone else will pay attention to this, so if anyone does want to do anything with this information, be my guest.

Spirits of hell is honestly a REALLY good sonic.exe game considering it has boss fights, difficulty levels, okay voice acting, a story, and really good platforming.

Luigi’s semi present in the story, dispute only being playable by RomHacking the Romhack, due to the diolauge in the actual game, Mario was supposedly being begged by Luigi to not go into the forest, Mario shrugs it off and goes into the order to save peach, most people theorize that Mario is a representative for Someone, but since it wouldn’t make sense for a forest based entity to go into a Mario hack. Though it is possible the characters are representative, you can use my theory of the timeline as baseline for your theory. Basically, in a Mario timeline. Peach and Mario went to a forest, Luigi begged Mario not to go but Mario shrugs Luigi off, the cultists see Mario and peach and report to the cult leader about a hairy man. Peach and Mario split up, and the cultists either drown, sacrifice biblically, or collapses a bridge to sacrifice peach. Mario eventually falls off a cliff and goes looking for peach, injuring his legs making him unable to run. Mario finds possessed peach and escapes, whatever ending you choose for peach determines how peach was sacrificed. Forest king resets the timeline. Mario builds a hut, presumably as a peace offering to the forest king or just to build himself a shelter in general. Mario from a different timeline falls onto Mario and kills them both. Mario from another timeline finds the body and the hut. Mario falls off a bridge while looking for peach and dies. Going to hell, but Mario is able to escape by doing a button collision, or a movement similar to a cross. Anything else is mostly self explanatory.

I have a theory that the witness is actually the one letting Mario go back in time which is why the message again? could be the witness asking Mario if he wants to try again feeling sympathy for him he letting him try over and over again. Or He knows he can defeat the king so it’s like a question of are you ready to go again?

There was a huge barrier to people wanting to ever play this game, only a very very small sliver of people would want to because of its depravity... So no people would not be interested in doing just anything.. They arent even interested in seeing it done, in a very old pixelated game.

I honestly don't blame you for thinking the sonic.exe games were same-y. They were, mostly. Only most recently, with Mr Pixel and the like, have actually created more than just "walk right simulators".

What I think the story is about: The story starts with a single, middle aged man. One who is very depressed by the loss of his son, and his wife divorcing him. For a couple of years he copes with this sadness in the best way he can, until he starts to slowly go insane from it. This insanity brings him to kidnapping a 6-7 year old child(sonic) from his mother, who is the "her" that is in the file name. The child he kidnapped is very independent, and hates the man's guts. No matter what he does, he can't seem to get the kid to like him. After a while, he talks to his buddy about killing the child, saying "He just turned 9 yesterday.". The reference to the phone number is the man and his buddy calling the number to make it seem like they are digging into the ground to set up a sign for his "kid". One of the signs that says "slow, children at play." The games main event, climbing Green mountain, is referring to the men climbing up a hill/mountain to bury the child. During the trip to the mountain, the man's friend asks him if he called the kid's mother yet. The man who kidnapped the kid lies to them, telling the child that they are heading up the hill to let the kid free, or to play with the child. When the child is not looking, the man's friend grabs the shovel from the trunk, and bashes the kid in the head with it. Killing the kid off. They bury the child, call the mother, and lie to her saying that the kid got hit by a car while they were heading to her home to give the child back. The game takes place with future sonic(the one seen in the boss fight) trying to stop his old selves death, but the kid always somehow dies, no matter what he does to prevent it. He tries to kill the kid before he gets hit with the shovel, killing the kidnappers, everything. Yet he is still forced to watch his sad, sad fate replay for eternity. But one day, after hundreds of years of sonics death replaying over and over, sonic trying to stop it, but failing.. he finally succeeded. He managed to kill the kid, and threw him out into the street. The hospital bed in the 2nd game represents a passerby, probably an adult driving home from work, seeing the injured child on the side of the road and rushing him to an emergency room of some sorts. REMINDER: this is NOT canon. This is just what I THINK the story is about. You DO NOT HAVE TO AGREE(I'm just saying this so I don't get harassed by random people who disagree with me). Also feel free to tell me if I missed details, or should add more things that you think may have been important!! I'm always open for tips on how to improve my writing too!!

I got both Drawn to Life and Drawn to Life The Next Chapter on Nintendo DS both for dirt cheap ($1.99 USD+tax and $2.99 USD+tax totalling up to $5.28 USD) as a birthday present in 2015 for my 24th birthday at a video game store called Just Press Play, which I wasn't convinced of at first when seeing the first game's box art and seeing "Basic reading ability is needed to fully enjoy this game" on the second game's box art convinced me even less that either game was any good but the dirt cheap price of both games together was what convinced me thinking that I'd get like five minutes of enjoyment out of what I thought was going to be the handheld equivalent of a smartphone drawing app: what I got was the total polar opposite! And I mean that with all the love I can give, because that metaphorical rug was pulled out from me so many times while playing these two games that I'm surprised I didn't end up in a coma myself. Also, the vocal music tracks of "The End, Light of My Life, and Real Life", *HOLY! SHIT!* Full-on vocal tracks on the Nintendo DS?!!! I didn't even think that that was possible! Not even Nintendo put vocal lines in Starfox Command, so what sorcery did 5th Cell use that Nintendo didn't? 'Cause no other DS game I played before had full-on vocals like that, 5th Cell were more wizards with the DS than Nintendo was!; So yeah, something I initially snarked at for being the equivalent of a smartphone drawing app that I thought I'd get like 5 minutes of enjoyment out of but still bought because the price was dirt cheap ended up giving me a full-price triple-a experience about life, death, religion, faith, and belief in 2015 on the Nintendo DS as a birthday present for less than $6 USD!

While not the more violent game out there it is by far the most disturbing. You are quested with bringing a little girls spinal cord as a quest. You either have to let her die buried alive or wait for her own mom to hang them. It is a twisted game created to push the envelope further. if this came out 2 years earlier it might have been a household name like Mortal Kombat. Sadly by the time it came out all that "violence in video game" things like senate hearings all died down.

I thought about that, and I'm totally not sure but: What if someone tried to make a zoomed out map of each game? Like, wouldn't it be possible that he color change in the background of the first .exe file spell or create an image when totally zoomed out?

When I was a kid I either used the armor and colored it purple manually, or I did my DAMNEST to try and replicate the blonde box art hero, who was surprisingly not a template. Now that I actually have done art for 14+ years after playing the original game id like to definitely revisit it tho and see if I can attempt to make him work again
