Can only agree with your view, rode it today and man, is this a let-down after the station. The showbuiding in my case was not even really dark, you could easily see all the track, the sensors, the end of the screens, etc. Waited 1.5h for this and wow, I really could not believe what they made out of this good ride system, until now I am really angry with Portaventura thinking back to this attraction.

Any advice on the order post-Hyperia? Going to be going 15th September (Sunday) hoping it's slower with kids being back to school.

Just visited this park and honestly I have to say I vehemently disagree. The park feels like a cross between a universal studios and the worst six flags in the world. Van Helsing was the only ride that was truly themed during the ride and also thrilling as a ride. Star Trek is the best ride in the park, Area 51 was well themed, but the drops were fairly tame. The excaliber ride is extremely well themed, but probably the most dull river rapids ride I've experienced. Some of the flat rides are nice, but the other rides, like Dora, bandit and Iron claw were extremely painful. Also, for Dora, would it kill them to add some theming? Just a very old boring log flume painted purple with a statue of Dora out front. And weird that the studio Tour ride and the excalibar ride are in the nickelodeon area. And why don't they have park maps? A simple park map would have made finding attractions easier. And Area 51 entrance needs to be moved to be in the actual park. Honestly, if I wasn't visiting with my free Efteling day ticket, I would have felt completely cheated. I would tell most people to avoid this park as only a few of the rides are actually worth riding. If you do insist upon a visit and you don't have an annual pass at a partner park, go on your birthday when you can get entry for like 13 euros. Otherwise you will likely feel ripped off.

I have, very mixed thoughts really but in terms of ride experience, I consider it pretty thrilling the lsm launches, paired with the track layout make for a very enjoyable ride experience, but other than that it is very lacking. Hopefully in 2025 Alton towers does a good job of making sure they make the perfect multi dimensional indoor coaster, I have very high expectations for them.

Only Visited at the end of the season and was shocked about how many times rides went down throughout the day and you're right about the flat ride., X sector was bad when the Smiler went down you had an hour queue for Oblivion or you had to leave the area. Will take some years for them to get back to where they need to be.

There use to be a a ride here in texas at Six Flags called "The Texas Giant" and was undoubtedly the scariest roller coaster i have ever been on. It use to be so rough on your neck and was the only solid wood rollercoaster in the region. They ended up closing it down because people kept getting hurt on it, but if you have some extra time i'd suggest researching it

For me when I was young I was watching videos of rollercoasters in the uk and that got me interested in going to places like Thorpe park and Alton towers but I was like 5 or 6 so I was too young and I sort of forgot about them but I would tell my parents everyday how I wanted to go so when I was 10 I went to Disney, universal, and sea world in California and that rlly got me into wanting to go to Thorpe park and Alton towers so when I was 12 I did, I went to Thorpe park where I got into thrill rides but I still wasn’t an enthusiast but a few months later I went to Alton towers where I rode the smiler for the first time and I thought it was so cool I got into rollercoasters so the smiler made me and enthusiast, now i have 72 coaster creds, I’ve ridden coasters from all sorts of manufacturers, I ridden coasters in the uk California and Holland, my top 10 is: 10.Joris en de draak at the Efteling 9.goliath at walibi Holland 8.wickerman at Alton towers 7.the swarm at Thorpe park (my home park) 6. Lost gravity at walibi Holland 5. Stealth at Thorpe park 4.Nemesis at Alton towers (the original) 3. The smiler at Alton towers 2.Icon/Enso at Blackpool pleasure beach (I’ve ridden both) 1.Untamed at walibi Holland (my first and only rmc). My first coaster was catapillar coaster at paultons park, my first launch coaster was manta and sea world San Diego, my first inversion on a coaster was on the incredicoaster at Disneyland Anaheim, my first invert was nemesis inferno at Thorpe park, my first beyond vertical drop was rage at fantasy island, my first hyper was stealth (big one was my first traditional hyper), my fastest acceleration is stealth at Thorpe park, and the most inversions on a coaster I’ve ridden is the smiler at Alton towers. Now my least favourite coaster is condor at walibi Holland, this is the prototype Vekoma slc and it rides like it, it has the same trains as T3 at Kentucky kingdom and was not enjoyable at all. My first Schwarzkopf was Olympia looping (I rode it at winter wonderland) and my most weird credit is called eurocoaster at winter wonderland, it’s an inverted wild mouse it’s actually a solid ride and has decent floater during the drops and valleys.

I didn't know about the glass panel in The Smiler's exit, I'll have too look for that next time I go. As for Nemesis I do have a small correction that Nemesis was SW3 not SW2. SW2 was actually the same abandoned Arrow Pipeline Coaster plans as SW1 that were revisited but ultimately scrapped again.

I love videos like this, especially for parks that I don't know. Being an artist myself, it's fun to see other designers/builders put little Easter Eggs into the work. I especially respect the planning and forethought it takes, like the 14 CC television monitors, to put this level of detail in. Similar to the "Hidden Mickeys" at Disney. They are all planned out and worked nicely into the design. That said, I also love the cheek of the paintbrushes being stuck to ceilings and so forth. There's no harm in it and it acknowledges that sometimes the process doesn't go as smoothly as possible. Like looking at the Old Masters paintings. You see bristles from the brushes, dirt and grime, fingerprints from being handled before the paint was dry. It's all part of the story of each individual piece and the same goes with this type of thing. It's a bit of added richness to the history of a park.
