This is one of the parks I am most looking forward to when I do finally get to visit the UK. I love how imaginative the layouts have had to be here due to the height restrictions. I actually wish more coasters in America would build down into the ground instead of up. It's just a different experience and for wooden coasters, lateral airtime is really fun and effective. Not all airtime needs to be ejector airtime. One of the things I love about Whizzer at Six Flags Great America is that it's all about laterals and low-to-the-ground speed so Wicker Man really looks to be my type of ride and I remember when Nemesis was first being put in seeing the photos and video over here and being very envious. I can't wait to experience both.

Both the smiler and nemesis are very impressive uses of height and the size of the footprint it takes up

I think what makes Alton’s rides so amazing is just how unique they are - they may not be the biggest or fastest in the world but there’s just nowhere else in the world you can ride coasters like Alton and I actually think the restrictions placed on the park has actually made their rides better in the long run for making them think outside the box and work with a variety of manufacturers

I don’t think there’s ever been a ride on thirteen where there weren’t people after gassing it up like it was the scariest coaster in existence 🤣 I just go on it to get all the rides done, but for some people that’s actually their limit

The GP seem to absolutely adore 13😂I think it’s probably most people’s only experiences of a drop track and a backward coaster segment though. I just wish the first drop wasn’t trimmed I actually think the hills in the woods would have some decent airtime with just those lap bars

Well I do plan to take my little cousin on it when he’s old enough, he’s currently 7 months so it’s on Octonauts to hang around long enough and considering the last coaster on that site The Beastie ran for 30 years, got relocated and still runs today I like my chances. Yeah I love the theming on on Wicker Man just a shame the ride is less forceful than the Sky Ride. As for the Curse I’ve not actually done it yet and have avoided spoilers as I was prioritising a foreign park this year. Got out to PortAventura it it blew me away.

Great + interesting list! I do think the smiler is a little over rated, great but doesn’t quite reach the levels of wickerman and nemesis

I think smiler is just very hit and miss for me personally, some rides are amazing whereas some are so rough and head bangy that it’s not enjoyable to ride at all
