1989 Batmen did do detective work, probably more so than most others. He figured out and brought down Jokers whole cosmetics chemical killer smile.

It’s good to see them going back to the golden age of Batman which most people these days don’t know Batman was never high tech until the 2000s

While they are all great jokers, Heath Ledgers is for me the benchmark to go off, he was so believable and while showing how mentally unstable he was showed how well he could get into the mind of people especially Batman, when it comes to batman the joker is generally the enemy we all love to see this battle, I remember coming out of the cinema blown away by Ledgers performance, he really did steal the show.

I actually love the ears. It makes him look more like a…you know…BAT! My only gripes are Catwoman’s ugly-ass classic costume & the fact that it’s set in the 1940’s.

I'm looking forward to this! Big fan of what Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski did with BatmanTAS and its whole art deco look, although the later character redesigns were mostly awful. Some incredible storytelling for an animated show at that time, and the things they could get away with. This has an exciting new look harking back to the early days of the comic with long ears and Catwoman original colours and a great redesign for Harley. Unfortunate that JJ Abrams is involved, he didn't have a clue what he was doing with Star Wars...

I understand the reasoning for the OG costume (minus the purple gloves, apparently). Whilst not a fan of the long ears, it's understandable that they would be so. I can never remember much about Batman's history or how it evolved over time or if the same characters were always in it or how that is even possible in canon or if it's just stories about how the same characters "would" be in different eras (ie. Bruce Wayne, Selena as Catwoman, Gordon). But, given the early history of Batman's existence, I don't mind the 40s setting without the now iconic tech. I'm actually curious how he got on without them, back then. As for the changes, I like inclusivity, but I kinda dislike gender and race swaps in established characters & would rather enjoy new characters introduced as already being other genders/backgrounds. That being said, I don't mind it bad enough to not watch or something. My feelings about it aren't that strong in either case.

You’re complaining about the 40s setting and the long ears but you’re missing the point they’re just copying the original comics that’s why it’s in the 40s and Batman has long ears and catwoman is wearing her OG purple green suit and I respect that but I hate that they didn’t go the whole way and gave Batman his iconic original purple gloves cause the batsuit in the caped crusader is almost exactly like the OG batsuit minus the purple gloves and I hate that they should’ve had the purple gloves I’m already gonna give the show 8/10 and two points missing for each glove but other than that this show is everything I wanted I wanted for a long time a cartoon that is inspired by the original comics with a 40s setting and the OG batsuit and the animated series style Now all we need is a 60s spider-man cartoon

I really don't want to be "THAT guy" but is Gordon's race-swap just cannon now going forward? I liked the choice of actor for the recent Batman film. I can understand how a director might have an actor in mind who matches the vibe of Gordon. However, this is a cartoon which means the creators of the show just decided to make the character black for some other ulterior motive-- seems politically motivated to me. It also takes place in the '40s which means this decision sacrificed historical accuracy as well. I'm not complaining or trying to make a fuss. I'm just curious as to the reasoning behind this decision.

They kinda all are.I'm the biggest batfan of all time so I should know more than anyone besides bob Kane and his other creator who was robbed of his credit. The only thing the 60s show nailed was bringing batman to the masses and In a way made batman more darker in the comics when the show failed so without it who knows if batman would be batman how we know. Also costumes looked accurate to the comics just beyond cheap lol, the bat mobile however was definitely a win for the show a classic car with batman influence had some real good superstar car stuff ahead of its time. Micheal Keatons batman is probably my second fav batman he was dark and brutish his world is semi Gothic which is such an accurate way to have Gotham suits was on point just stiffy but cool it was missing orgins hard for Micheal Keaton to move and joker to mee seemed more of a goof ball than a dark lost crazy joker like who he is action was a bit small. I agree keaton was not good bruce wayne but a better batman thats funny cause he got the role cause how he played batman .Batman forever like you said his athletic was like batman but that's about it. Batman begins trilogy was accurate had batman in a real world setting and how he made batman tech etc real life like like the comics has his origin story big plus lots of action the dark knight is one my fav movies ever the joker was accurate. I’d say Micheal Keaton was the best live action portrayal of Batman not just is he pretty good at both Bruce and Batman we also must be considering that Tim burtons movies with him as the caped crusader are how we got the animated series and Kevin conroy’s magnificent portrayal of vengeance

Michael Keaton will always be my favorite batman and jack nicholson will always be my favorite joker. They're apart of my childhood. A lot of it has to do with what generation you're from. I prefer a dark mysterious version of batman over a goody, goody version like Christian bale. I couldn't stand Christian bales batman voice 😂. He always did the right thing like captain America which is boring to me. Michael Keatons batman would straight up put a bomb on a bad guy then walk away as he was blowing apart 😂. He straight up killed joker by shooting his hookshot around the jokers ankle as he was getting on a helicopter lol.

Affleck or Kilmer were the best Batman between the sheer intimidation of batfleck or Kilmer’s martial prowess. Portrayal of Bruce is honestly a tossup between Clooney and his charm and confidence and the way bale portrayed him as more subdued and sly. Kevin conroy and Michael Keaton hit the best balance of the two and made me feel like it was a more complete characterization of both. I still haven’t seen The Batman or Gotham so I can’t really say where those actors fall in their portrayals. I really want a Batman that does the detective thing more.
