Do you happen to have your profile/settings handy you used for this plane and your TX16S? I just built one as my first 3D plane but I want to make sure I’ve got it sorted right. It was flying a little odd on the maiden today.

Just different since the 39" have an airfoil and more wight you can penetrate wind better which "can" at times make it more enjoyable for mid day wind etc. Though the 32" make it easier for smaller spaces out side. You have options :-)

You can honestly handle it either way. We've observed that lower humidity can actually speed up the process. Technically, you don't need to separate the pieces; it just helps accelerate drying by increasing air exposure to the glue. Enjoy your Clik!

Do you set up hi-low rates, expo, mixes, or whatever??? If so, any recommendations for an "initial" setup. Going to try TH as my first "foamy" airplane. Spektrum model downloads have made it easy, but want to try something else and no "safe" mode.
@TwistedHobbysIncChannel2 ай бұрын
Great question! It really varies depending on the model and the pilot. We've seen a wide range of preferences for expo settings, so it's tough to give a one-size-fits-all answer. For your first foam model, say around 32 inches, we recommend starting with 60% expo on all control surfaces. From there, you can adjust up or down as needed. High and low rates will also depend on the model, typically around 10-20 degrees for low rates and 30-45+ degrees for high rates. These are just baseline suggestions; fine-tuning will depend on your personal preference. Keep in mind, the CG plays a big role in how these settings perform. Thanks for your time, and enjoy your first model! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our team-we’re always happy to help.

I wouldn’t recommend it personally. It does best off of the stock power system due to how powerful and light it is in comparison to other motors its size. I’d recommend swapping to an XT30 and playing around with different props for more thrust before you try different motors

@captnjim.3 ай бұрын
I was working off an early manual that didn't have a recommended CG. There is a battery opening on the bottom of the plane at 17:06 you can see where I placed the velcro and that seemed to be the perfect spot with plenty of room to adjust CG fore/aft depending on your battery size. I use 3S 720mAh and 850mAh for 5-6 min flight time.
@Axoy-22 ай бұрын
@captnjim. How are you flying I get a 4 min flight on a 1300
@captnjim.Ай бұрын
@@Axoy-2 You see the flying I am giving it, at the end of the video, usually a mix of everything with some 3D stuff, and also some smooth, slow flying. If I am doing a lot of hovering, or trying to climb high to do spins, the flight time does drop off. If you are using any sort of setup that is different than mine, (heavier battery, different motor, ESC, or prop) than your times aren't going to compare. With a battery twice as heavy, the motor has to work a lot harder to lift the extra weight. still if you are using the stock power combo, you should get a longer flight time (although maneuverability with the extra weight will suffer.)

In this video I used the CEC Corp Thin CA. To reduce whitening, setup a small fan, apply the thinnest coat possible, and don't use the kicker. If you have high humidity, it makes the problem worse. I love the Beaver! This beast is in an entirely different class. It's bigger, more power, has proper flaps, full floating elevator... the Beaver is smaller, lighter and flies more like a foamie.

Hi, do you recommend to angle the motor mount with washers in order to counteract the propeller effect or you just leave it straight? Nice build :)
@TwistedHobbysIncChannel4 ай бұрын
Good question, really depends. While some models already have angle thrust designed into the airframes, to accommodate for this.. Its always good practiced (if this is needed) to test for this. Once CG is set to a neutral setting, you can attempt multiple downward descent (dives) with 0 motor power. This will show you which way the model pulls with out power. Adjust accordingly and find tune if you'd like from your findings.

Really helpful for my laser xl build. Thank you! Could I ask, how did you do the battery strap to stop it from damaging the foam?
@captnjim.4 ай бұрын
I usually start with a double sided velcro about where I think I will place a permanently cut slot. I attach the velcro by cutting two horizontal slots through the vertical fuselage and feed it through. This allows me some time to adjust the CG until I settle on exactly where I will have a permanent cutout for the battery.
