Yay Aaron! The most tedious part of the build has been made easy. One other challenge that can be minimized are the pushrod guides. Instead of putting the guides onto the push rod and then trying to glue them into the fuselage, (everytime I lift one to glue it, the pushrod pulls out the one behind it that I just glued) I find the holes where they're supposed to go (by holding the plane up to a light) and glue them in first. And it's easy to simply line up the guide holes in a straight line by sighting down from the front or the back. THEN simply slide the pushrod through (and through the link at the servo) before snapping the other end onto the control horn.

Hi, I can't tell from the website and videos, which of the models is the most aerobatic of them all. I'm all about the aerobatics. Slow, light wing loading, reversable prop motor. Is it the Lasar, or the Super Extra, or some other model?

After watching you fly yesterday. I had to buy one.

Fits which size? Inch wise. Cause these would be interesting on my (big) fokker & my P3 Revo. Both different sizes🤷♂️

@@old-rcplane-phart would work on the Fokker though revo has larger size motor 50-70g weight

You sent it hard core. That was a sick flight! Hope to have those 4D skills one day. I just started 4D a month ago. I've never flown fixed wing 3D only 3D helicopters so the throttle feels just like a collective. The orientations are the sane which is helping me pick it up quick. I've been watching every 4D video I can find. I'm addicted, lol.
@FarmerFpv9 күн бұрын
Thanks Ethan, I'm enjoying 4D flight. I was looking for something other than regular 3D flying indoors in the winter and this hit the spot. It's like learning how to hover and torque roll all over again. lol
@Glipski9 күн бұрын
Nice Video. What brand of receiver are you using with the TX16S (4in1 I asume)?
@FarmerFpv9 күн бұрын
My yard is a quarter that size and it has taught me a lot about flying. My reaction time has gotten quicker and hardly ever crash anymore. It's a must for those learning 3D to try and fly in tight places after you get comfortable at a medium sized park. Go to a smaller place each time.

This is my favorite winter flyer. I fly it in my 3-car garage or at my local Boys & Girls Club indoor basketball court. Everything is in slow motion when flying. Most Boys & Girls Clubs are desperate for money so you can rent out the gym with friends really cheaply after 3pm until 10pm.

The Cof G in the manual is 80mm back from the leading edge. I guess I'll start with 50 and see how it goes.

Looking good. Might actually give it a try on my next foamy build. I’ve been holding out, preferring an actual VPP, but this might let me dip my toes into 4d without the complexity to see if i like it. I’m a heli guy, so i hope it at least somewhat like variable pitch. I’m a slow flying foamy I think it might just be fine.
@FarmerFpv5 күн бұрын
It feels just like a collective pitch but it is not as complex and can withstand crashes, The mechanical unit will be destroyed after one crash. I wouldn't waste my money on a mechanical collective pitch. They are already coming out with 3D helicopters with direct drive and reversing motors like stepper motors used in CNC only using servos for cyclic. They have almost zero delay. It will be the future of 3d and 4d. The least amount of mechanical parts the more time you spend flying rather than fixing.

Ive had reverse on a few planes (ultimate 3d, all timber x' (2), etc. Its amazing what 1 can do. BUT, imagine full movement + reverse! Completely orgasmic for an extreme 3d flyer, especially on a TH foamie!

nice job :) I am building YAK55 with my own plan that is very close to yours. I have a question about placements of ESC, and battery. I could not saw in the video. Also, it could not seen on the maiden flight :) can you explain where we can put ESC and Battery? Thanks
@captnjim.Ай бұрын
Yes, at 14:10m you can see where I glue the ESC to the vertical fuselage just behind the landing gear. I then poke a hole diagonally through the middle of the plane and I put the battery on the top, right side of the plane. There is a good shot at 16:27

You had to soder an extension wire. Wow, I think this is not as simple as you make it look!
@captnjim.Ай бұрын
To be fair, I usually solder on every model I build to swap over from JST to an XT-30 connector. You could easily just use an extension instead of soldering, but I didn't want the possibility of it coming unplugged internally.

Unreal! This video is 9 years old. Imagine how good he is today.. I just bought this plane and got it in today. The quality is the best I have seen from a profile 3D plane. The power combo is insane. Tiny motor puts out heaps of thrust. Thanks for the fast delivery and the best 3D products.

Ppl can say whatever the want about this but that name branded junk, BUT I 1st flied my big fokker dr-1 about march 24. Fly it EVERY trip to the area. Least it's been up was 4 batteries (gensace 3s-450. Now I have 12 total), most has been 12 in a day. Last time it flew, using my tx16s max2 ag01, it turned over 25 HOURS! At 4 minute flites per battery, that a bit😁🤪! Love the company & planes. Just ordered the big p3 revo Prometheus theme.

Mine has always been flown outside. 35 degree temperatures, 25mph winds, 95 degree temperatures 🤷♂️. I'll admit i have broken a couple of props. DID add a slab of fabric for a 'real' scarf, & wore out the Styrofoam tail skid. Skewer works well.

I have two of these motors on a scratch built twin motor 3D plane. These motors are beasts. The strongest in its class. The T-motor AM series don't even come close. On 2s it is a beast. On 3s it's a wild animal. Some black magic going on in these 2305 1500kv crack series brushless motors. I need to buy more ASAP!
