@@idonjohnson6999 I wish, but only 30-pin iPhones (4, 4s and maybe iPod touch 4g) work with this because the video signal can only be received through the AUX connection and the audio (and menu data) is sent through USB. When this feature was first introduced on 2011 BMWs the iPhone 4/4s was king and BMW had no idea apple would be switching to lightning.

@@bmwdiy ha yeah I figured so much. That's too bad. Oh well I guess a 64gb version iPhone should be more than enough. The only benefit from a USB stick is its (super) small size and much easier data transfer from PC. I guess you can't have it all. Wonder if Apple still replaces 4S batteries...

@@bmwdiy I was thinking…what about an older iPod with 30 pins connector? Edit: should’ve looked first. Apple Nano manual says it can playback video and even output to a television using AV cable. So since this basically is the same setup…I think it works. I would prefer it to having to use an older iPhone. I’ve ordered all the cables. The iPhone AV cable is NLA, but plenty around on eBay. I saw one loose pin on the USB port side. I guess it’s audio L/R and one video signal wire?

@ The audio is sent through the USB connection. The loose pin on the AUX portion of the USB port is for the clear wire on the FBAS cable. However I’ve found that the video signal works fine with just the white and blue wires plugged in slot 1 and 2. I find the touch screen on the iPhone 4/4s is ideal for navigating through your video files or skipping to a certain part of a movie. It also fits perfect in the armrest storage. @@Fancy669 Your VO would also have $609 by default if your CCC has navigation from factory. If you have the MASK system or no screen in the dashboard at all then the CIC retrofit would be more difficult since you would also need to retrofit the navigation antenna.

@@Fancy669 Yes, as long as you have the navigation antenna which every car with navigation should. Most likely if you have MASK (only in Europe for E9x), then you have the more basic Business Navigation which is option code $606A. So you need to delete $606A and add $609. All CICs (at least from North American E9x cars) will have Navigation Professional.

You change the build date in order to access the CIC module since the earliest model year for E9x cars with CIC was 2009. Then you have to code the CIC to your VIN which has your option list including the option code for your car's sound system option. If you don't have sound right away, it is because the car the CIC came from had a different sound system option than yours. In my case the CIC came from a car with no Logic 7 and my E93 has Logic 7. No big deal. Just follow the steps in the video at 20:20. Once you read your car's VIN, it will show you a list of all the options your car has. The option code for Logic 7 is $677 if your car has that, but you are going to want more than just sound. Bluetooth, PDC, DVD video playback, etc.

In my case the car E64 is choose E60 and i add #0909 and $6VA But still no sound Maybe i can know which code should i put in my case the car 10/2006 but we fix cic from 2008 i think Any help?

I want to get files from a site but I think this service no longer exists. Is there anyone who has downloaded files that can send them to me or process them on Mega and I can get them from Mega?

If your car didn't come with the armrest USB Audio from factory you could order the cable and port in the link below. It connects to the blue or black port on the Combox. It’s a lot of work to bring it to the armrest. I would just leave it in the trunk and connect a USB stick with all your music to it. This way you get album art and navigating your music from the Combox USB port is much better than through the CIC hard drive via the glove box USB port.
