Avoiding the ghost in the laundromat game is actually easier than running around the parking lot. You can literally just stand on the curb down the street and the ghost will have to walk the entire length around to reach you. Step off when it eventually completes the trek, step back on, repeat. Somehow the most effective way to survive a haunting is standing still on the side of the road. Thrilling stuff right there.

Little addition to in the middle, didn't play it but saw a video on it. As mutch as that dude did, you are supposed to use the soap bottles from the shelf in your "office" to stop the levitating laundromat. If you are fast enough the ghost won't haunt you. Every night an additional laundromat gets possessed, so presumably the goal is to finish the night, they all get posessed. It still was incredibly repetitive to watch so not mutch in your assessment would change.

Love your content, but just wanted to say that one of the kickstarter pictures you shared for Outpost 13 says its funding was unsuccesful - so they wouldn't have recieved that initial amount of money. Probably why they relaunched and had a second one.

The laundry detergents in the second game are all AI generated. Another KZbinr i watch who does similar lists of bad games has also found a bug where he won the game by just standing on the sidewalk because the "ghost" can't jump. The MXGP game is published by nacon, another "player 2 gamepad" manufacturer. Bought the nacon compact for my sister in law because it is smaller and i thought it would be nice when she is traveling with her laptop. The thing had analogue stick drift in less than a week of her barely using it and the shoulder triggers are the most arse ones ever. there is almost no sensitivity in them. Imagine playing this game with a nacon controller. //typo, first -> second game

Monopoly is a board game for people who don't actually like board games. It probably makes most of its money these days from versions with licensed IPs pasted on them, bought by collectors of the IP who have no intention of ever playing the game.

In the Middle goes along with these games where you have to do a mundane job and then something weird or spooky happens. But in those games the mundane job tends to be mechanically involved. You have to actually do something that causes the player to think about it. And when the event happens, there is some development. Compare it to Chilla's Art games. Many of them involve a regular job before the supernatural things happen, and you than have to deal with it.

Something you didn't mention about In The Middle (but may not have realised) is that the ghost can be cheesed extremely easy. All you have to do is go outside and stand on the sidewalk. The sidewalks are on a slight incline compared to the rest of the map and the ghost lacks the pathfinding to go up those inclines, so instead it does a loop through the _entire map_ in an attempt to catch you from the other side. When you see her coming from the other side, you just step off the sidewalk and back on again, causing her to turn around and do a loop again. Rinse and repeat until morning. The coding in the game is crap.

There are a fair few 3D Survivors games that look good. One of the best-looking so far for me is Entropy Survivors, which has Sly Cooper-esque colorful animal characters, a pretty cool mech, and pretty unhinged abilities like sending a fleet of trash trucks or giant space sneakers to destroy enemies. Levels are pretty distinctive and look great too. There's Picayune Dreams, which is narrative heavy and has this very distinctive retro aesthetic that's reminiscent of 90s PC games with their crude 3D graphics. There's Soulstone Survivors with its great variety of classes. And then there's Gatekeeper, which is more like Risk of Rain 2 as an isometric twinstick/survivors-style game, with a similarly slick sci-fi look. As it turns out, if the devs bother to make it look good it can just. Do that.

I think IdeTale is great. I was literally doing my daily Deadly Fireblood Cliffs raid for one of the last two items remaining for me (the pets in normal and deadly Fireblood) when your video reached that point. To advertise a bit: The game really is free both on Steam and mobile, no front pay, no mtx, no strings attached (at least right now). It has a very large and active Discord community discussing the game and its mechanics, so if you need help, you'll find it there. My minor gripes with it really are few. It may have two idle-clicking mechanics (buying the autoclicker upgrade talents and holding rmb), however using them will block you at some point, which is probably why the Steam review you read was blocked in their progress. The Blood Hunger talent further down the Berserking tree does not work with holding rmb (the game doesn't tell you that), so really playing optimally and reaching the endgame is best done using an external autoclicker. The other thing I really dislike are the inverted meteors in Deadly Fireblood Cliffs (you need the reflexes of an F1 driver to react to them or more realistically pray that you just don't get them) which is just one endgame mechanic. The game really doesn't deserve to be stuck in Mixed hell.

Following the Vampire Survivors and abandoned games theme, I would suggest Runic. I bought it after my Vampire Survivors obsession in hopes it would reach the potential it could have with the spell-crafting angle. I'd assume Nacon has obtained the rights to the license now

I get tired of people who leave bad reviews on games because they use a third party launcher. It detracts from any critical discussion about the game's content and only focuses on one superficial thing that is only really a slight annoyance. And it changes basically nothing, Ubisoft has been requiring its launcher for over a decade now, and won't stop any time soon. It's time to move on.

"The point" of "in the Middle" is clearly to be a ripoff of "Chilla's Art"'s "The Convenience Store" or others he has made in the same vein like "The Closing Shift". Chilla's Art is an indie Japanese horror dev whose very simple games have sort of reached cult status and have 2500+ reviews for a $3 game while skyrocketing most of what he has made to immense popularity. It's the exact same concept (You work the closing shift in first person for some sort of business, you have to do mundane stuff for a while and then after it closes you have spooky scary stuff that happens) except supposedly (I haven't played it myself) it's pretty good and worth the $3 if you like simple horror games? You could maybe give it a play and see if I am right about it being a ripoff, and you might even be able to contrast to articulate what this guy did wrong. The fact he is mystified why it isn't doing well shows he has no real understanding of what makes that type of game fun.

duel with the devil really looks like a pale imitation, when done right a vampire survivor inspired game can be really good, I mean look at magic survival, yes it's only available on mobile, but it's still very good. I mean I can't say I don't miss the original joker 999 kills = 999 insta kills, now joker is totally different and there's another one that's only 99 kills = 99 insta kills. they added magic combinations and it's all pretty well balance and fun now. I didn't even know vampire survivor existed when I started playing magic survival 3 years ago (I think) and when I tried vampire survivor it actually felt like a downgrade as a game. duel with the devil in comparison looks and probably feels like a cheap money grab.

lool you didn't go far in the idle tale game, else you would have been complaining about how grindy and atrocious the dungeon mechanic is. You have to play some of those dungeons over 100+ for a piece of equipment and the dev wanted to have energy mechanics in it too to limit how much you farm t he dungeons for xp (i believe they didn't implement the energy system, but the dungeons are grindy af for those 'special' equipment with a 1% drop chance)
