I love Tabac Manil tobaccos and I keep the cellar loaded with them. I also like the fact that it is a family run concern, from planting, growing and tending to the leaf to packaging the finished product. I have found that it works best for me to pack it good and tight in a tallish chamber like a chimney type bowl. The flavor profile is like no burley I've ever had; when my cadence is correct; the retro-hale tastes like rice crackers. This tobacco will punish you with harsh notes if you rush it. Long live Tabac Manil!!!

@@oldandintheway1955 I haven't tried it in a chimney yet, and now you've got me curious. It unfolds over and over throughout a bowl...lovely stuff. I appreciate the time and consideration that go into a nuanced review of a complex blend, but frankly all that don't mean much to little ol' me. If I don't have the experienced palate to decribe a blend well, then the best I can do is describe the feeling of being ignorant. I don't know if you smoked it the tabac manil. But I will find out soon enough. I was going to send my zine, but I picked a box that was too small for that, so next time I get you, I'll use a bigger box. I want to send you some Straus blends at some point, but I will give you time to explore what I've sent thus far. The Rougaroux is another one I am curious about. The only problem with Rouxgaroux is he only ships it two days a year, so you have to be quick to get some. Which usually would put me off, but the tobacco is so good that I don't mind the hassle. I look forward to hearing more on these tobaccos. Feel free to text me any time if you want to chat about them. One day we Kentuckians should get together and smoke.
