A lot of AMERICANS do have options, but make "EXCUSES" as to justify why they need an automobile. About 80% of Americans don't travel beyond a 20 mile radius, and are so LAZY they'll jump in a car to go ONE MILE to the store on a NICE DAY!! I live in the suburbs, and ride my bike 17 miles one way to work for 7 years, even during the harsh winters. I stopped driving automobiles over 40 years ago, and invested well over $400,000 dollars into other things I wanted to do. When I say that, people look at me crazy, but that's only $10,000 dollars a year. Cars keep you BROKE! 😂😂😂

Intel probably canceled German fabs because fabs are moving out of Germany, not in. Clearly those plans were made when Germany could provide lots of cheap (Russian) energy. Bosch just opened a chip fab in my N California town that will bring 1000 jobs. Presumably jobs Germany will be losing.

If you look at an nVidia chip the tensor cores have compute power orders of magnitude higher than the cuda cores. So if you do want to do AI, you do want tensor compute cores.

the only thing that would save them would be quantum computing, spending money on lower lithography when you have TSMC is throwing the money through the window. Too late Intel, you're finished.

NVidia could sure use Intel's fab capacity and it can be bought with shares since their market cap is about 50xs bigger.

The reason I got a flagship phone was because I don't want to change phones every two years, and I've had issues with network stability, issues with battery, bluetooth not being fully reliable, slowness, etc... so I got an iPhone 13 Pro Max, just not to deal with more issues over the coming years.

Companies that put too much money in higher management will all have the same fate. A company that is struggling can't pay 6-7 figures to management. Investing in r&d is 1 of the most important for technology companies.

I worked as a hardware designer at the Philips Domestic Appliances R&D center in Klagenfurt, a true source of pride for the city. After the Chinese takeover, strange management decisions led to its shutdown within a year. For us employees, it was a pleasure to work there and be part of everything we achieved-from developing innovative household appliances to pushing the boundaries of technology.

Im honestly never going to understand these E Ink Tablets. Like we live in a day and age where a full tablet with a palm rejection stylus costs half the price of an e ink tablet with no distractions. Like dude just get a Samsung S9 FE or S6 for 300 usd and turn on ultra power saving, everything becomes grey and white on amoled and the battery is 4 days. And your apps are also limited

Pat was not stupid at all to throw that much money into silicon fab. That's a genius 3-step move from Pat. First throw ridiculous money into the Fab to accelerate their technology. Second integrate that expensive technology into their cpu. It's very insufficient and that's ok. They can marketing for their fab. They could reimburse a large part of that loss by the money from the government, using their soft power. The US government will pay, after seeing what happen to Russia. Lastly the fab still operate at a lost because Intel can't convince Nvidia, Amd, Qualcom to use it (of course, Intel is their direct competition). Intel have to sell the Fab so the fab can survive on the US soil. Intel will make a profit because their technology is no joke after spending a ton of money. They may have to pay back the government but they will pay really slow and will not pay in full.

✅ I agree with you on Proton likability. However, revenues are different than after expenses and if you look at the employee count it’s stated at 400. Obviously it does not take 400 people to ‘just support’ an existing platform. Like any growing privately self funded company, a massive cost center is in the new product development. We can expect one nice surprise and upgrades with this corporate attitude. Certainly I am not suggesting all these 400 employees are necessarily full time, but proton does not separate that. The latest seems to be they have over 10 million paying customers. Growing companies always like the image of being looked at as bigger and saying 100 million ‘users’ is all ok. You also have to take in consideration how IP intellectual property causes legal conflict. So when proton produces competing features, it’s a tight rope to not conflict with MS, Google, etc. Any of this massive players can tie up a company like proton in costly litigation - just to be a snot against competitors (claim true or not). As a former business man, I read Andy Yen as ‘appropriately cautious’. You want paying subscribers and to curb any flys in the ointment.

They are Aldo very particular about how up to date your setup is - why? Email is plain text. You can send/receive PGP emails with a Netscape Communicator circa 1995. Proton, otoh, will tell you to fuck off if you use a 2022 browser lol. Too old, oh my.
@bramblebop19045 күн бұрын
This video is bullshit. Someone like google who likes to read your emails can read a PGP'ed email till they're blue in the face: it is scrambled, just a bunch of gibberish. You have to unscramble it, which can be do e off google. PGP works just fine. What proton does, is an ewuivaslent of sending an invitation to visit the friendly local gestapo office to pick your super-secret French Resistance mail lol.
