Hey Douglas, thank you for this useful video. I frequently see this cloudburst pedal and like to ask you, I wonder why do I need this while I have a NS4 with a powerful effects layer? Is that comes up with an extra feature that NS can not provide?

Thanks! Great question! In my personal opinion, you don't need it if you have the NS4. I have a video coming out this Monday (April 8) comparing this pedal to the cloud reverb on the NS4 and I show that the reverb on the NS4 is really great. The pedal does offer the ability to do some finer tuning, but for 99% of cloud reverb needs, the NS4 does the job fine.

The Cloudburst is such an awesome pedal. Sounds awesome with a guitar, but well done on this with a keyboard.

You can achieve this with 2 cables instead of 6. I use Roland TRS -> Y (mono) split cables to solve this with my guitar pedalboard to create stereo.

That’s a good idea! I wanted the flexibility to use the cables outside of this use case without the Y, but I like that if you want to reduce the number of cables.

Douglas, is this also how you could hook up a looper pedal? I have a TC Electronics Ditto X2 (I'm a guitar player but also have a Nord C73 like yours). I have a Cioks power supply already, but none of those splitter cables you have.

Hi there, I’m not familiar with loopers and how they might treat a stereo signal, but seeing that the splitters are less than $10 each, it might be worth a try!

Can you please tell me how to change the tempo in the synth section on the Nord Stage 4? (For example: 134 BPM)

Would you still use a cloudburst with a Stage 4? Understand part of the reason is because the Stage 3 can only run 1 effect for each engine

Personally I wouldn’t, I find the cloud reverb on the NS4 to be sufficient.

Just curious, why not just run it mono and bypass the splitter?

You could, but a lot of keyboards take advantage of stereo, especially piano sounds to give more realism and quality that you’d lose if you went mono.
