Welcome back! I wish you a healthy life and happy carving with great knives and soft wood! Also I wish the same to all carvers around the world!

Interesting to see how much you do before beginning to tackle the face/head. Different from most who start with the face, but I like it. Thanks for this tutorial. You are helping us all get better.

Glad you liked it! I always finish with the head, it's easier to adjust to the body than the opposite.

Indeed! I also did not mentioned that my best friend visited for 2 weeks with his wife and kids and that gardening takes a ton of time during summer! Haha

@QSOutdoors I like the vikings the most too. 😆 🤣 😆 Carving one of your vikings was one of my first carvings.

@QSOutdoors it was a good bit ago. The first time I got into carving. It was my very first carving I posted to Instagram. After that my knife dulled and I fell out of carving for a while because I couldn't get it sharp again. Didn't come back to carving till late last year.

Congratulations mate u’ve had a very exciting summer by the sounds of things. I’ve been doing a lot of gardening this year to try and make the garden more accessible for my disabled wife and daughter. I have done a few carvings mostly pendants I’ve followed some videos from someone called werewolf whittler I think. I’ll find the full name and edit this comment but she has some nice carvings some u might be interested in. Can’t wait for ur next vid take care mate. I was right it’s werewolf whittler

Great stuff! Also her carvings are just the best. She's super talented. I had a whole section in this video talking about gardening too but I decided to cut it. The video was getting too long. It's also another reason why I did not make too many videos. Gardening is a lot of work! And now it's harvesting time and sauce time and canning time, hehe.

Awesome castles! As a beginner, would a single carving knife suffice to make pieces like this and your viking minifigures?
@QSOutdoors2 ай бұрын
Absolutly. As long as it's sharp and you have soft wood you would be good!

I just started carving and im loving these 1 by 2 carves. Great video, although do you think you can show the model half way through like a 360 of it. I keep missing the odd detail that I have to do at the end. I also added some breath holes in the masks for mine by jabbing the knife tip in. Adds a little more to the face I think. :)
