I do think , real acoustic instruments in zeno are great for layering or as secondary stuff in productions , if you wanna realsim , nothing beats sampled library unless you go real thing ;) Imho HW will live long simply because how zeno can be demanding in ressources and badly optimised at this stage imho .... I absolutly love it , but found myself using it less and less because of bad maintenance ... bugs i notified them 3 years ago still not smahsed (and a serious one on the zenology sh 101 mod and env on filter is inverted ..one is the other)

Are you talking huilt in presets or mines ? mines are super basic and as stated tgis is like my templates ones , if your're talking about the factory , some are great , but i confess that i rarely use those or find them inspiring ... but one thing to notice is that some presets are made for a certain type of playing , i do a lot of presets for exemple that are meant for one or two notes eviling sounds , if a guyz only test with chords ... he will find 60 % of presets strange lol

yeah , i understand the need for oversampling and sound quality ... but brands need to understand that it defies the purpose of softwares and the workflow in the box ....having to treat a software like a hw because it s too consuming makes no sens , i skipped pigment , minfreak , imposcar and at this state might skip this one ...shame cause this might be my fav Gforce , it sounds superb ...the fact that i own others OB from gforce makes it less painfull lol .. @@ZozillaThaGreat In the settings, I found different oversampling options, but it was already at the lowest setting of 2x. Difficult to imagine setting it higher considering the impact.

I don+t have those inputs available on maschine. I can´t export other than wav. stems. Midi stems goes to all same track no on different track s

Basically i sequence on maschine , making all parts needed for the song (for exemple if you have hook , verse and bridge , 3 diff drums pattern , i create 3 patterns ,) I bounce audio in daw (midi sequence are in maschine) , and then structure in daw : WHY ? why do i do that instead of doing the song structure in maschine and then bounce the whole song ? because i reduce the audio files bounced to 4 bars or so (minimum redundancy ) to avoid having 3 mn30 of audio clips for each tracks , , my project is few hundred of MB instead of GB !! (depends on resoluton and Sample rate) ....

The fact that it's mono made me skip it and wait for their poly version ;) As for the brittle edge , easily handled if needed imho ;) I send my soft synth usually in analog drive (lately i love to threw tehm on mly Elektron Synatkt FX blok , analog drive and fx does wonder there) ... the uad V76 is superb also for synths and drums ....or just the Moog filter plugin witch is a pure beauty to warm up synths .... and give them body if needed .

Still my fav from IK , and the beuaty of having all scneraios covered in one plugin is exellent , i just would have loved a more "boingy" spring option here to cover those classic dub verbs ...

You don't have to unplugg in fac t just refresh controllers ("reconnect" in midi meter option in S1 , teher's should be something similar in cubase)

Exact , this company is runned but pationate , competent and super efficient guyz (when i pointed a bug once ,they sent me like few hours later a fix for me to test lol ) . And of course they make not only great concepts (their channel concept is just brilliant) , but their plugins actually sounds superb , i do prefer their Maag over the PA , the API other waves , ect .... And the pricing is exellent , i really envy young people starting music today (and not in some other ways lol but long debate) , they have access to some superb tools without breaking the banks !! Try by yourself , but i validate your statement , and at the actual pricing they're into , it's a no brainer for real , i can't remeber how many grands i spent on UAD and people can jump into it for a fraction , just crazy !!

No , Legends are individual plugins , zenology does contain Fantom ,XV 5080 ect ...stuff , for exemple , ze,nology has an expansion (you have to buy) iof the JUNO 106 while legends proposes the juno 106 as a stand alone (understand no need for zenology ) witch is at the same more accurate . So you jhave two choices , going on legends you need , or want a platform that let's you have an "omnisphere" like approach regrouping pretty a big part of the catalog . Zenology is like getting HW jupiter X / XM Juno X , same concept but in software .... not limited on the number of parts (in fact depending on your computer and how many instances you can insert) ;) Hope it's clearer ...

Avec plaisir , par contre , Zenology , l'interface et pas top (comme tu as pu t'en rendre compte ) , c'est d'ailleurs pourquoi j'ai pris le pack avec les expansions , pas donné mais les interfaces du Juno , sh 101 , Jupiter , Jx ect ... sont vraiment sympa à tafer !!! Si tu veux le son authentique le plus proche du HW : legend . Une option sympa c'est le system 8 , en fait pour moi c'est un caméléon des legends , be sure to test it !! il a les formes d'ondes ect et les filtres juno , jupiter ect ... donc sur le papier , c'est le zenology des legends , sauf que tu n'as pas tout les synths a base de sample (D50 , JD 800 , XV 5080 ) .... N'hésites pas si tu as d'autres question , j'aurais du faire une vidéo en Français , j'aurais pu être plus précis et complet .

To be honest , the more update they make the less i use what they propose , it's a total mess , it get far and far each time from the original goal " direct and fast " operation . So don't trip about that core thing. I personnaly rolled back to previous versions !! As for the licence tranfsert it's a simple ilok licence , the seller should have transfered it to you !!!

Acustica for me is unusable , tim ´s stuff sounds superb , but like you said the platform isnt that great in usage .... As for vertigo , my only grip is licence management , the rest is perfect simply ..

@@ZozillaThaGreat - I bought loads of acustica a few years back , i was wrong to buy it. the tim p one is good , the ssl sounds nice , but the meters are crap and it often does not recall the correct settings in a project so its not ok. Just checking out the new pulsar modular p455 here - its ok. people go made for pulsar modular but its a lot of hype for me. Those vertigos are amazing - the black saturator one is it vsm4 is the best for me.

Yeah acustica , we pointed a lot of flaws and notbing been adressed so i won't bother using them ... i did like some fews stuff that doesn't rely that much on meters ect ... Taupe being one of them yep the VSM 4 is exellent but not an eazy one for most people , for me vertigo stuff is for connaissuers more than big crowd ....

Salut Christorpher !! To be honest , be absolutly sure to give it a try first , i do find last releases from Roland far from being optimised !!! They're worst than previous versions when it comes to smoothness .... so at one point i even said to myself i should have gone Jupiter X/ XM lol if it had simething like Overbridge and total recall it would have been already here . Under than that , yep Zeno is a beast , the interface isn't that eazy to work with (it's way better in the new version , but not something smooth as modern vst'is .) If you wann soudndesign in Zenology pro , be sure to learn how to make things fast (the small utility option are crucial (eazy copy / paste or partial , editing sevral ones at once ect ..) Sonnically : it's solid as all Roland stuff ..... sad really for the optimisation , i went arturia last december just for that , they do sound less good than roland (jupiter , juno ect ) but it's wayyyyy smoother and fun to use ;) Patiently waiting for next update to see if they do things better .... or i will roll back to old version missing new features . * Now if i understand your usage , it's more to crteate sounds via the plugin and transfert them into the HW , in that case all good !!

@@ZozillaThaGreat Salut🙂 I haven't bought it yet, I almost bought the 1 yr sub today though. There is a slight niggle in my brain telling me I already have most of the Zenology pro features in the MC-101 as the partials have been unlocked and why pay twice for something. I think you are right about the performance, I use Ableton Live because it came with the Keystep and there are some issues in the DAW, crackling sounds and when I play the 'Shine pad" at a reasonably fast pace it heavily drops out the release and sounds reversed, if I play it slow it's fine. I have tried to recreate the Shine Pad on the MC-101's hardware Zencore engine, and while it doesn't sound exactly the same, it's is close enough and sounds a bit nicer. I don't mind unintuitive interfaces as I like it when it's difficult ( just like my Blofeld menu diving😁). I will do some more research, the primary use would be sound design to import into the MC-101 and use that as a portable module. I really enjoy your videos. Chris

Thks Chris for the kind words . To judge the performance need to be sure it is the software and not your system that is not that optimised (by testing alos other software) , keep in mind that cpu hits varies with patches , some are very demenading in ressources dude to the patches itslef and polyphony ...so as a start be sure to set the voices limitation to middle or even hard if to cpu hungry . The other thing is that , watch my video on the cloud , there's a time to go for the sub , and it's when tey offer what they call "play for life " (two times a years ususally , summer and winter) where when you sub , you get to choose a licence of a plugin and you keep for life for the pro , and 2 licences ofr ultimates sub (of one year each) , this is how i bougth my roland arsenall , via ssub to acceess everything and test and then choose the licences ;) If you want a way to create patches and make your sound "more personall" , i do think stuff like the SH4d , gaia (not a fan of the sound but the HW is exellent) or a Jupiter could be exellent choice .... you can also go for analog , the best value for the buck imho being the korg miniogue xd and you can even have a total recall plugin (via a 3rd party dev) to get the plugin and tiotal recall in daw sessionn and manage sounds and plugins (yep you can have speciall plugins in this beast for fx or osc) , beringer deepmind is great too ....those are fast sound maker than can deliver SOLID sounds (no cheap)

@@ZozillaThaGreat The performance hit is probably my Macbook Air - it's a modest bit of kit that has served me well over the years, it might be showing it's age. I might try the PC imaging workstation which I use for Photoshop and Unity/Unreal5 3D gallery work, the main reason I don't use the PC for music production is because I have found Windows 10/11 too temperamental and I gave up on trying to get things to work together ( I have used windows since 3.11/DOS so I know the systems well ). The Mac just works out of the box with all hardware and software, I just set up an aggregate device and everything talks to each other, so that seems like the obvious choice. Thanks for the tip about the Winter and Summer Zenology offers, I might wait for that as it seems like a better deal. Have fun🙂. Chris

Yep i feel you but for your advise , windows works well and is even more optimised than osx at this stage , the problem isn't the os , but integration , if you get a HP workstsation or dell's one or lenovo or a computer made randomly or bougth at walmark lol isn't the same ;) (not saying iyt's your case but perf in that case aren't os linked at all ) The good thing with hw synth / drum machine is that you don't rely on those headache (on mac most of them linked to osx updates / new versions )

Try it , my exemples aren't the best , in this case i wanted to show more what makes it unique ....i didn't some test in Gearslutz where i went on classic patches even Taurus territory versus Softube and legend , and the results might surpise you ;) thks for watching and your remark !

Of course but the format is the key : ALL Maschine samples will be seen and usable !! BUT the Kits format nope ..... I personnally like Maschine and expansion samples dry anyway (too much FX) so no problme for me , but if you want those NI kits already pre produced , you will then have to skip using XO .

It really depends on what you have already , if your arsenal is already "fat" this might be kinda "redundant "with some tools , but if you don't have any equivalent , this tool is an absolute beauty , i've found myself using this more than VSE 2 (their other eq ) .

Take your time , test it and see if it brings something you love and use , approach plugins like Hardware , minimise their number and learn them well ..... it will benefit you in every aspect : creativity , fun , speed , quality .... the more time you learn tools the less time you rationalise their use during curial phase that are impacted badly by time constant . The beauty of this tools is that it answer several job in a superb way .

All solid brand , sonnox is top notch , Uad my desert island , and softube console 1 for exemple is a pleasure to use and has a big impact in workflow and so decisions/results .. Dmg : i did tried its compressor witch is exellent , so is uhe presswerk in the same style ... I would say compression and distortion , uad is hard to beat , sonnox concept and sounds are pro level and unique in some case (claro and their last voca) and sounds superb ... also really help:workflow .Vertigo vsc 3 comp is a beast and often used here as well as this eq ...the drive unit less unless i want deep control over my distortion witch in this case is hard to beat !

you should check in the center , not near computer here , but to know if a sofwtare is availlable for a specific hardware , just select your hardware in the center , you will have the software and banks for it ( the new center )

To be honest , Logic X i m not familiar with its way of handling control surfaces .... i own a faderport (1) , so far all good , i use it mainly for basic stuff but it does those like a champ ...one thing i love about it is the focus mode , my eyes went on the new ssl but the form factor is terrible with charp edges ... unbelievable ...but the metering option is superb .. talking about c1 , dont forget that you can use it for anything , i m using it for soft synth and it rocks ....
