I remember getting my Powerplay Hockey game back on Christmas of 1993 from Santa and I remember every member of my family and my friends played that game for quite a few years until alot of the peices were falling apart or not working anymore. These day's I have a Gamecraft Table Hockey game that I inherited from my dad (he wanted to get rid of it so that he could get a billiards table and concidering my buddies and I were the only ones who played it, it made perfect sense that I got it.

@MSchussler5 ай бұрын
Yes indeed . . . those disc guns were super cool to play with. The little discs would go everywhere and who knows how many are still lost in a couch somewhere. I'd like to have one mint on the early cards where they used images from Star Trek on the packaging. You could be right about the approximate time they stopped making them.

Ayyyyyyy slow down there, lol. Incredible Edibles were pretty damn tasty. I'm 63 and I remember cooking those babies up as a little kid. My favorite was the tutti frutti. So much so that I've got myself some tutti frutti flavor and I put it in my drink sometime and it takes me back because it tastes very similar. I remember there was root beer and a couple of other flavors. But I do definitely remember the tutti frutti of course as I said, it being my favorite. LOL. I too can remember actually eating that right out of the squeeze pack lol. Holy crap I'm actually amazed that you have an actual shrink-wrapped unopened Incredible Edibles set. Jesus that's like finding a Rudy the Robot still in the box, or a full Super City set.

The Japanese side didn't get any tanks or trucks, but they did get a Zero fighter plane. I think the Americans got a Mustang, on top of some tanks and trucks. My buddy's set came with German tanks and trucks as well as American. There was also an 88 mm cannon or two for the Germans.

I am from the Netherlands, and lately I wondered of what brand some of my very big cowboys and indians were. Know I know, Marx! Today for collecting they are very rare. But very well made indeed. I gave away my pieces, but I remember a friend of me had a lot of those giant cowboys. He lived in a house with a large garden, lots of space to play in! Well, that was a long time ago. In the early 70's.... sometimes I desire to have a Timemachine. I would go back then, to do it all over. I guess I am not the only one.

My buddy had that battle set with the Germans and Americans. I had a similar one that was based on Iwo Jima. It came with the same green Americans, but also tan Japanese soldiers. They were much more detailed than the later Vietnam era soldier sets that came out in the '70s.

I had this set growing up, and the figures were A LOT more detailed than the ones here...interesting. I wonder if this was a later release, just before they had to start making toys in ridiculous color schemes to downplay realism.
@MSchussler11 ай бұрын
Hmmm . . . this was a common set, and they used the same molds throughout production. Later versions had light grey Germans and some versions had more pieces than others but the detailing on the individual soldiers was always the same. There was a lesser known "Battleground Marx playset" in the 1950's that had different figures, but I wouldn't say they had more detailing that the more common set made primarily in the 1960's. Did you grow up in the 1950's and have that set?
@malcolmdrake613711 ай бұрын
@@MSchussler Born in '58. The wounded soldier was so detailed you could see his intestines. I remember looking at the soldier shot in the back with his helmet in the air, on his head. You could count his teeth in his open mouth. Even on the Germans you could see the irises, in their eyes, fingernails, etc. The American messenger soldier, with the case and pistol in hand...you could see the hexmarks on his 45. You could see individual buttons on their shirts. These look more like melting wax versions.
@MSchussler11 ай бұрын
I was born in 1959 so we're about the same age. You have certainly given a vivid (imaginative) description of the memory of the soldiers that you once had. Unless you still have them and are still counting very-very tiny teeth in the mouths of the small plastic soldiers.

@@MSchussler I had the set until 1993, when it got thrown out during a move, but I was always showing them to people who couldn't believe the detail, but I don't want to get into a back and forth stating that my memory is faulty. Ha! I totally agree Lee. The so-called dangerous toys were the best toys. I especially liked all the 60's that shot projectiles that could potentially "take an eye out". Some kids were stupid. We enjoyed playing with Jarts but we played the game as it was supposed to be played. It would never occur to us to throw a Jart at another kid's head or something like that.

I fondly remember having one of these in 1967… and I must take issue with the “taste” of the baked goo. To this day I’ve never tasted anything like it since, and it wasn’t bad by any stretch, but rather a very unique flavor. I remember running out of the goo packets and substituting green plastic army men that I proceeded to melted down into the different bugs. What a wonderful time to be a kid. I wouldn’t trade these cherished life experiences for the fountain of youth. Priceless… 👍🏻

Hi Nigel - Most people didn't seem to care for the taste of the cooked up "edibles" but it's good to hear that some people did like the taste. I will agree that it was unlike any other flavor. Clever that you were able to extend the use of the toy by melting down army men. Poor army men though. Yes, it was a wonderful time to be a kid.
