Jb weld can patch a gas tank. It is kinda hard to get a super smooth finish on it but it will hold gas. I patched the tank on my old vstar that way. It was that way for over 5 years and 25k miles. I've sold the bike a year and a half ago and to my knowledge it is still holding gas.

Right!!??... In full truth, we could have just cleaned the carbs, done what other mechanical things it needed, and let him ride it.....but there isn't anything to be learned from that!!! I truly believe that knowing more about what is good/ok/bad/DANGEROUS makes ANYONE a better rider!

I know it's a petty criticism but if you connect the positive current to the bolt then it becomes the cathode. The tank is the sacrificial anode. I'm enjoying your videos with your witticisms.

I had an 07 Aero 750 that the tank rusted out. I found it difficult with the baffles in the tank to get all the loose crusty stuff out of the tank.

Distilled is preferable, but honestly, this was done with straight tap water, and in my neighborhood, our tap water is so hard, it has "street cred"!!..... I've never seen a big enough difference in the effectiveness of this to warrant using distilled vs tap water, so save the money and trip to the Piggly wiggly!!
