Would you ever consider doing a general video tutorial around using Scale Color and Scale Color Artist paints? This could cover things like thinning down the paints, the application of said paints, and the work time they provide? I'm a big fan of their matte finish, but haven't used them yet as a lot of people speak of the big differences from them to other paints.

Thanks again for this great tutorial! :) I have a question, I finished the abomination until the shading step and then added the blood to it. Now looking at it, I like it but I am thinking I should have went on to follow your skintone highlights and go all in with this one. Now that the blood is already on the mini, what would you recommend, in terms of proceeding, do you think it would still look good to paint over the blood with a skintone highlight or better to paint around it?
@Sorastro
@Sorastro 6 күн бұрын
Hi there! I guess that depends on how thick the blood is that you added. But I guess you could just paint over it, and re-apply your final blood on top.. 😀

I followed the one above to the T during the last weeks and have just finished the highlighting stage and the Zombies look amazing already! Now just the eyes and blood stains and then I am gonna follow your other tutorials to paint the rest of the game. Thank you so much, these are the coolest looking minis I have ever painted thanks to your brilliant and detailed explanations! Really grateful! I followed all your tips, and each one was epic advice, that made the painting process easier accessible and enjoyable! I learned a lot from this tutorial already! Cant wait for the rest! Is there any particular reason why you switched from the tube scalecolor to the dropper bottle scalecolor when you started painting the cloak? Wasn’t sure if it was just strictly for the colour or if there was a paint property difference
@Sorastro
@Sorastro 14 күн бұрын
Hi, and good question! I chose the bottled scale colour paints for the cloak as they have an ultra matte finish, which I really like the look of for softer fabrics like this (rather than more shiny stuff like leather and metal etc..). 😀
@snaithiusproductions8445
@snaithiusproductions8445 21 күн бұрын
Do you ever still have those moments where you apply the paint and it looks so much brighter or too stark of a highlight/shadow to the base tone? I have to tell myself constantly to trust the process and to see it through, that the paint might dry duller etc. Just an interesting thought whilst watching you highlight the sand constructs and how it looks very bright at first, but drys duller.

I'm still fairly new to your channel and have never attempted NMM before, but I've just picked up the new core box after watching your stuff so here we go! I find it interesting that you use GW shade paints here, yet in other videos of other MCP models you seem to avoid washes. If you were to go back and paint Cap again, or the new Cap would you do anything different?

@BloomThat

I don't really understand why this is at all necessary. These paints are pvc--the exact same material that the base and models are made from, and will melt exactly the same way with plastic cement. I've been gluing painted models to painted base surfaces this way without needing to paint around/scratch off paint for more than 2 decades, and never had single issue with hold. You don't need to take this step unless you are trying to glue non-plastic materials together or using non-plastic cement. And if you are using non-plastic cement to glue plastics together, well, the problem is your glue choice, not your masking methods.
@Sorastro
@Sorastro 24 күн бұрын
@@BloomThat Hello! Am I correct in thinking that you don't actually paint Star Wars Shatterpoint miniatures?
@Sorastro
@Sorastro 22 күн бұрын
@@BloomThatWell, I'm assuming you don't paint Shatterpoint miniatures, and that you're unaware that the plastic used for the Shatterpoint bases is different from that used for the miniatures themselves. And whilst plastic glue is great for the figures, the plastic used for the bases doesn't respond in the same way, meaning that plastic glue is certainly NOT the best way to attach these minis to their bases (which I originally learned the hard way!). Using super glue works fine however, and I simply offered the tip about glueing plastic to plastic as a way of ensuring the strongest bond. 🙂
