Tested a LOT in my first year of crochet. Fortunate that all of my designers were awesome. I realized that i dont like working under a deadline though so im all done testing for now 😅

Pretty sweater….How did you fix the armholes?
@MaeCrochets3 күн бұрын
I made the armhole on the body larger! So I sewed it to more rows on the body

❤ I wish more creators and designers would skip the sizes and allow for the pattern to adjust to measurements! This is brilliant ❤ I’ve been making other people’s designs for decades. At a certain point, we must have customized sizes. I’m very busty. I was a B cup by age 9. That’s a great size when making standard designs. However, I didn’t stay age 9 or a B cup lol. The rest of my body is smaller. I cried every time I had to go shopping. I knew nothing would fit. Having the ability to fit for anyone is the kindest and most supportive act. Thank you ❤

Would the sizing work as in "my shirt size is M, so my size is M" because I want to start selling stuff that i crochet and am looking for one size or with something detailed like this
@MaeCrochets7 күн бұрын
I would say, maybe? It more depends on your bra cup size than t-shirt size

How do you get your tension right like this I always seem to drop stitches when I do this
@MaryABryson11 күн бұрын
What a great method and explanation. WELL DONE! I learned Tunisian about a year or so ago and I have been wanting to make a blanket for my granddaughter with kitties on it and floating the yarn just isn't going to work for a blanket. I have been searching for awhile for a solution that I liked best. While this method will be a bit more work, the finish product will be worth the extra effort. Thank you for sharing. I can't wait to start practicing this method.

I’m so glad I could help!!! Good luck on your blanket! That sounds super cute😍

Generally the arrival time event organizers give you is the "you can come this early but not before this" time. Some of them will want you set up at least a half hour before the event starts because people do shop early, especially if it's outdoor. The date isn't the issue, it's the turnout. Compare all the other factors, day, weather, attendance, marketing, hours, other markets/events in town? Not just your own stuff, because you clearly have high quality, lovely, handmade goods.

Holy damn that would be way too much tension for me. I just hold it between the pink and ring finger and then over the index like yours, no wrapping anywhere.

i know this video is older, but can you help? 😅 i have no issues completing the first side of the leaves. the second side is where im losing you. my “humps” (the leaves) are on the bottom, not the top. so when i turn it like you have, it’s not right. i’m confused & idk what im doing wrong.

English is not at all slower if you are using long straight needles that you keep fixed under thé right arm. In that case, thé right hand IS used only to move thé thread, thé left hand pushes thé stiches towards thé right needle. It IS very very fast.
@MaeCrochets24 күн бұрын
Ahh interesting!! I’ll have to try that sometime!
@Shiningsnail93525 күн бұрын
Wow that tinsel is so shiny !!!!! What have you thought of making ?Some cool designs?
@SeraJanelle25 күн бұрын
I learned to knit (english) a couple hours ago. Continental feels more difficult and painful on my extended pointer finger hand, but the english is much slower and less iconic
@MaeCrochets25 күн бұрын
There’s not necessarily a good or bad way, just knowing of both ways is good! But if continental hurts, definitely don’t do that way
@SeraJanelle25 күн бұрын
@MaeCrochets Update😅: Continental doesn't hurt if i hold the yarn with my thumb and pointer finger
@ornellam905223 күн бұрын
I do not knit continental as shown here with extended finger. I keep the tip of my finger near left needle….actually it touches the needle, so nothing hurts

If you need to frog mohair on its own, then you can freeze it to aid in unravelling.

Being a crocheter I've tried picking up knitting multiple times and always ditched it because it hurt my wrists. Turns out I was learning the English style. The continental style is very similar to how crocheters hold their working yarn so this makes me feel more confident to try learning knitting again.
@fishesfromsweden28 күн бұрын
same exact experience! the crochet to continental knit pipeline is real
@buitefr125 күн бұрын
Thanks for the insight. Dutch, 65 and learned from my mother the English style. (not knowing there were more styles with names). I see the advantage with continental knitting. My problem is 'musle memory' and keeping the tension right. Crochet was something I never really mastered. So now (after decades of not knitting) I'm not throughing but I thread the yarn over index finger, middle and pinkie. Just experimenting different styles to find out what works for my hands and fingers, doing small projects.
