Completely excessive amounts of expensive equipment. PS German shepherds are unhealthy, torturous breeds. It is not a good idea to get such a dog.

I hope this has worked out for you, im still catching up on your videos as Im new here.

Good shelter. I would add layers of fresh fir on the bottom for a smoother surface to sleep on at night. Thanks for the video.

Oak trees have tanic acid so you can chip it up soak and boil it with animal hides to make leather you can also do it with acorns and make them edible. when the water is a dark tea color you have enough to tan.

I like fruit trees. Tasty cherries, apples, pears, peaches and Persimmons. I can survive quit well on what trees I planted. Fruit tastes better than bark. ;)

Very nice collection of knives ! Do you have to give it much thought when you go out into the forest which knife you carry with you ? Day trips are different then overnight trips as I change more for firewood processing on overnight trips !!

It was a pleasure to view your personal collection. At 74 years of age, I have been an avid collector & user of many brands & styles of fixed & folding blades & saws. Having a large blade collection is a "badge of honor" not something to be ashamed of.

Very interesting thank you, for your interest pine honey is good for your cough, hot water, lemon, cloves, cinnamon, I have it every morning. Also the Beech tree is what the butcher uses for a chopping board, as it has natural anti bacterial properties within the wood. The oak tree is what help us in the past to build stronger ships, and was reused to build Tudor houses, 1600 century, that are still in existence today, my home town has the longest Tudor frontage. East Grinstead.

So many knives. Someone must have stabbed you in a past life.
@ulperformance4087Күн бұрын
You might consider mounting two webbing loops across your knife scabbard. I glued mine. You place the scabbard on your belt horizontally. Now, as you hike and move about camp, the scabbarded knife doesn't hit your leg, is far easier/swifter to remove the knife and eliminates the constant interference with your concentration as you move.

Your video is enchanting. I was in the Schwarzwald, back in 1970 and visit family in Germany every few years. You built a primitive shelter, not a practical one. Snow entered the shelter before you returned with the tree boughs, only a partial weather resistant shelter. A simple tarp could have covered and protected the shelter from the snow and potential wind, providing a warm shelter. I trust you know these bushcraft methods. Why didn't you bring a tarp? Primitive shelters waste of time and energy. Using limited amounts of tree limbs to make a structure and adding a tarp or tieing a tarp to a tree as in a plow point layout is far less expenditure of time and energy. I've made a DIY Dyneema 4.05 ounce floor-less tent, "zelt". It sits in the palm of my hand, 4 ft wide x 8.5 ft long & 3.5 ft high with a cord loop at the ridge for hanging it by 8 or more methods. It has a waterproof entry/exit zipper and waterproof zippered vent with mosquito netting. Being floor-less, I can use whatever type material and amount of material is preferred based on conditions existing and projected. Regardless, great show.

Hi - enjoy your wonderful videos about our nature. But i strongly disagree with your political views in the video on US migration and disaster preparedness. The money is there - its just deep deep in the pockets of far to many US politicians. And what with our friends in Ukraine when they now - for almost 3 years are being hit by Russian Missiles. Shall they give up and hand their country over to Russia. Then in a few years Russia will be beck for more - and their march can very well reach Germany! Are US weapons needed then? The US weapons sent to Ukraine are peanuts compared to the total US defense budget. In US, everything is counted in dollar - not in help needed. Tax cuts for all the super rich - and no need to build up at super help organization. The refugees are not the ones you should blame. It's simply their failed government with ridiculous low taxes on the US billionaires.
