Alfie yelling "Auntie Fart!" is such a 4 year old thing to do. I can just picture my son saying that (and me trying HARD not to laugh along). The theme of reconciliation is so powerful in both A Christmas Carol and Christmas Karol - I teared up over Fran realizing the children didn't come alone but that her estranged sister had finally come to see her!

I thought he was very funny too! He reminds me of my brother when he was that age!

One thing I really love about this story it’s a redemption story! I’m a sucker for redemption stories! It’s all Jesus is about redeeming us! I’m glad Karol reconciled with her family and found Beau’s painting was for her! I’m glad her kids finally have her again to make hot chocolate and muffins! I’m glad she made things right with Fran! You did a good job on the voices again and I like you explain things in your books too! You did an excellent story you wrote!

Interesting you have Karol's sister ("who did NOT die!" as Dickens said) in the role of Fred, "Scrooge's nephew." Karol's struggle here actually reminds me of the animated Christmas Carol with Jim Carry as Scrooge...when Scrooge quietly, humbly says to Fred, "I've come to dinner...if you'll have me."

Faith K. Moore did a good on this part! That was my favorite part of that movie!

Yes! Fran is a combination of Fred and Fan (hence the name).

This is a very sad scene! 😢 That would be very sad for Karol to know she had been too late because she hadn’t been there for those who needed her. Annabelle was now another version of her and that would be a nightmare at this point! What makes this really sad is also she could’ve saved Timothy but didn’t in this alternate future! That actually is very very sad! It is creative this is how you decided to show the ghost of Christmas future that is an event, and not an entity! I like how you voiced Roberta in this scene! That’s actually how I imagine her sounding like! You are a very good storyteller!

Enjoyed your podcast and subscribed. For what it’s worth I recommend improving your audio quality. The audio quality is poor by comparison to current standards.

I'm a homeschooling SAHM so the kids and I are around each other a lot but even I think my kids don't want me from time to time. Also, Santa Claus being the Ghost of Christmas Present was an excellent choice IMO

Karol going back and forth on what he may have learned from the previous Ghost links well to how Scrooge at this point has already felt regret for how he'd treated the boy caroler, and to an extent how he's treated Bob Cratchet.

A nice play on the passive-aggressive side of the Christmas Past ghost in the Dickens tale ("I told you, these are shadows of what has been. That they are what they are, do not blame me!"), with the "little girl" daring Karol to leave. 😂

Beau's introductory lines frankly bring me back to my initial thought of "Holmesian" comparison. 🕵♂️

This was very well done! The music today was a very nice touch! I liked how funny the little girl is. It’s a beautiful scene how Karol and Beau meet! ❤️I also liked how he described snowflakes. ❄️ Makes you think how special we are to God knowing none of us are exactly the same either and how much artistry He put into thought about us.

@eurydice36 I really felt Beau's quiet desperation in chapter 2. "What if it's not about the cookies?" How making cookies became this thread throughout the novel that linked so many characters and scenes together. The female CEOs yearning to take care of the screaming baby. As a mom myself, that scene in particular pained me so much. My husband and I read a chapter a week of Christmas Karol in our family book club but I ended up reading the whole book in two nights because I couldn't put it down. ❤️

@@pattiwarren5531It is not just about the cookies! It’s the fact they need you and need time with you.

Hi Faith! I am so truly happy that I found you. I have listened to your father for the last few years, and I have seriously wished he was my dad. And then I began to read and listen to your brother, Spencer, and have so enjoyed his amazing website, his sermons, the Isaiah project, and the way he explains the scriptures. I thought that I wished he was my brother so that I could call him and ask him questions. Now, I discovered you!! I am so excited because even though I love the classics, I often struggle to read and immerse myself in them. I watched you on an episode on your dad's Christmas video podcast. It was so heartwarming to listen to all three of you, and I thought to myself that I wish you were my sister. I am so happy that you are putting out this podcast! Thank you!!
