Actually imo I think Sonic adventure 1 is a perfect model for her but maybe just a little bit more mature like IDW. I want them to do the story of cd and adventure combined having her get kidnapped by metal sonic and she gradually learns to be strong and independent throughout the movie. They could build up to her getting her hammer. I’m actually not a fan of boom Amy as I think sonic and Amy’s original dynamic is more interesting. I’m not saying she needs to be over the top and bring up marriage but a little bit of flirting and sonic getting all flustered would be funny and cute. That’s actually something I feel IDW did right (especially Evan Stanley’s run).

I recently heard that the possible sequel will be heavily Tails centered. Whether or not they decide to include Amy Rose remains to be officially confirmed by Paramount at this point. But regardless of what direction the Paramount takes with the Sonic live action franchise in the future, in the end, those movies are still non-canon spin-offs based off the video games, and the video games produced by Sonic Team and SEGA of Japan will always be the true canon, along with IDW Sonic since Sonic Team officially stated that IDW Sonic is canon.

Current Amy in Lost Worlds, Rise of Lyric, Boom TV Series, Mania Adventures, Team Sonic Racing game & animation, Forces, Mario & Sonic 2020 Olympics and Sonic IDW have been the best depictions of Amy's traits so far. Her appearance on the sequel is both necessary and facultative at the same time. She is one of the most popular character in the franchise, and if we think chronologically like in the games, we have Sonic 1, 2, CD, 3 & Knuckles. The only characters we think of lot that could appear are Tails (which is confirmed), Amy, Metal Sonic, Knuckles. We want Amy for the sequel because her appearance is necessary for a good Sonic timeline even though Sonic 2 was created before Sonic CD, Amy was designed right before Tails, her appearance could be like in the middle of the movie or at one quarter of the movie. For the facultative part, I don’t know what she has to do about the plot, maybe seing her playing with tarot cards with someone and that someone reveals that her card means that she’ll love the one who is cool as the wind. Then, she saw a yellow-orange two tailed fox opening a portal with a ring, curious, she’ll quickly find her hammer as fast than she can before the ring closes out. Adventurous herself, she’ll enjoy visiting new places, but she’ll feel lost about what she’s doing, all she want was to meet the one who is cool as the wind. One day, she observes an army of robots invading everywhere in the world, she thinks this is terrifying and decided to run away and when she saw an Eggman ( yes it’s Eggman, now ) machine, she used her Piko Piko Hammer to defend herself. She defends pretty good herself, until she met him... ( I let you know who’s that ) then she met Sonic who’s a cool blue guy, with a positive attitude. I rather have Amy be more admirative towards Sonic, before she develops her feelings for her, I think it makes sense.

Sonic Team confirmed Amy's canon growth and maturity as they stated in a video on Sonic Channel that she's an independent hedgehog with a strong sense of justice. I hope to see that version of Amy which is the one that's in the IDW Sonic comic series. But I definitely prefer the modern Amy design for the sequel.

@@NewSuperChris If you ask me, IDW Amy is the best version of Amy Rose I've ever seen and wish that was how she always was in the games with Sonic noticing her while being called out on it by others with him blushing and being in denial about it. Many, and by many I mean Archie Sonic and SatAM die-hards, are falsely calling IDW Amy a Mary-Sue of Sally Acorn. But Sonic Team shut that down with their video on Sonic Channel confirming Amy's growth and maturity as seen in Lost World and in Sonic Forces. I just hope in the sequel that Paramount don't use the old version of Amy for comical purposes to make Amy a source of annoyance and for people who already hate her character for stupid reasons to bash her further.

Anyway, on Friday, February 21, 2020, Sonic Team uploaded a video on their Sonic Channel called "The Brief History of Sonic the Hedgehog 101." In later portion of that video, Sonic Team stated that "Amy Rose is an independent hedgehog with a strong sense of justice." In short, they canonically changed Amy's character and personality by giving her more growth and maturity as was seen In Sonic Lost World and Sonic Forces and in the new IDW Sonic comics series.

You’ve done some very good research regarding this topic! I honestly think that she would make some kind of appearance in the 2nd movie. It would be cool for her to have the same personality trait she had in the games, because the only game she was 1 dimensional in was in Sonic Free Riders. Everybody's talking about some of Sonic's friends and other friendly faces they want to see in the next Sonic Movie, but i wanna talk about the villains i think would be very cool to see. 1. Metal Sonic, i think that if they wanted to add a second rival to Sonic in the films, having Eggman and Metal would be very nice, and could have a lot of potential for story and action scenes. Think about the money, Paramount. 2. Chaos (more of an antagonist then a villain but you get what i mean), if Paramount wants to introduce the Chaos Emeralds in the next movie, Chaos would be a great way to demonstrate to newcomers just how much power and importance they have, and could also be a good thing if they wanted to set high stakes, simple example: Perfect Chaos threatening to destroy Green Hills and kill everyone. 3. Zavok, nah i'm just meme'ing. 4. The Biolizard (and by proxy Shadow, i just didn't put him here because he's not really a villain), also would be a nice way to show off the Chaos Emeralds, athough not as newcomer-friendly as Chaos since the Biolizard does have a lot of lore behind it revolving Shadow (with even more additional lore behind him), Maria, The ARK, Dr.Gerald, Black Doom, G.U.N., etc. But with that aside, i do wanna touch on 2 amigos of Sonic's i would like to see (obviously there are more i would talk about such as Silver, Shadow, Cream, B I G, Jet, etc. and other not-so-friendly faces such as Mephiles and his son, Inifite "Mephiles Jr." Forces, Black Doom, etc., these 2 are just the ones i would most like to see and also stick out to me). 1. The chao, i don't think i have to go into much detail as to why, i mean, they're cute, friendly, and don't even need to have much plot importance at all, we all know you snuck a chao on a truck painting Paramount, stop teasing us like that, c'mon. 2. E-102-Y, would make for a great rival, also great for adding more emotional moments into the film, adding the rest of the E-Series and pitting them all against Sonic would also make for a good general threat for the whole film, but it'd be nice to also have that whole 'free the animals' arc Gamma had, wich is where a lot of the emotional moments imentioned earlier would come from. Let me know in the replies some characters you'd like to see as well, if you want that is. That being said, if the second movie just had Sonic, Tails, Amy and MAYBE Knuckles against Eggman, that would still be perfectly satisfying, some of these characters i mentioned wouldn't be very newcomer friendly anyway, so perhaps in a third movie they could work better? Let me know what you think about that too. I'm just hyped for the second movie, i'm glad we're gonna get a second one, don't know if you've noticed but i'm a huge fan of Sonic, but anyways, stay safe and stay speedy. I think Amy's voice should be played by the person who played Teresa Fowler in Randy Cunningham 9th grade ninja aka Sarah Hyland because both voice actors for sonic have done work together for a love interest in the 9th grade ninja

I think that it makes sense to have them in the sequel. Maybe Tails senses something with the Master Emerald and gets Sonic to help him out whilst Robotnic tricks Knuckles to go after battle Sonic whilst he builds Metal. Not sure entirely how Amy would work in the sequel effectively. With the first movie focusing on Earth, have the second focusing on Sonic's world then maybe pull a Sonic X if a third movie happens and fuse both together to end with Adventure.

I think Amy in the movies should be voiced by Kate Micucci. She's voice actress for Webby in the new Ducktales so she already works well with Sonic voice actor Ben Hurst who voices Dewey in that show and I think it will translate well to Amy and Sonic.

Being ViacomCBS, the parent company to Paramount is not in a great financial position after current events caused a great loss to their revenue, I think it will be some months before we see a green light on the sequel. Given how well the movie did without the larger foreign markets it will definitely get the green light, with the higher budget needed for the Sonic's world CGI and new character models. The movie is just what Paramount/ViacomCBS needs to recover from losses so I think will be on the top of their list. Good thing is going by the Fandom interview with Pat Casey there have already been pre pre-production discussions with the writers, director and producers which implies they are pretty confident of a it being greenlit. I speculated previously the new characters other than Tails for a sequel will most likely be Metal Sonic as Robotnik's weapon of revenge against Sonic, a mid credits scene of Knuckles so help set up the third movie, and possibly the Death Egg and Tornado. The Chaos Emeralds will appear and with that, Super Sonic is a must, especially to defeat Metal Sonic. I think Amy could fit in there too, and hopefully they extend the running time to 2 hours which would help with the extra characters story. It would basically wrap the Sonic 2 and Sonic CD games up together in terms of characters and fit with the character introduction progression of the original games.

@@NewSuperChris I honestly hope they do something new with ther love story since Amy loves sonic for no reason, maybe the movie should do something like them originally being friends and then little did they know they would have a relationship also they should make amy the same age as sonic since in the games sonic is 15 and amy is 12 although a 15 year old dating a 12 year old is legal it is kind of weird for a 12 year old to be together with a 15 year old since the 12 year old is 3 years younger.

We got this covered normally isn’t a trustable site as they just cover rumors so don’t take this news seriously. Jeff Fowler has stated that there are no plans for a sequel for now, however he is open for coming back into the directors chair and doing something with the characters again.
