I do want to see them include Shadow in one of the movies. But they need to be careful about it. Recently he's mostly used for fan service, so if they use him right, it will be a huge hit. Also, his arc is a lot to take in all at once, so maybe they shouldn't include him in the sequel

Shadow can work and his introduction could make for a successful film but I agree that movie 2 is too early for him as characters like Tails and Knuckles need their own introductions and arcs in order to flesh out the cast and the same goes for certain well known plot devices such as the chaos emeralds, and the other worlds in general. So Movie 3 or 4 would probably work better. I also agree Keanu Reeves and Adam Driver would be popular VA picks for Shadow and that they'd likely do the job pretty well.

I agree with you and think Shadow should be saved for a third movie alongside others like Rouge or Omega who aren't as vital as characters like Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Metal Sonic who are most likely to appear in the (inevitable) second movie. Nice video.

When I saw the title and I was like, "no, we don't need Shadow for the 2nd sequel to succeed, it's too soon for him to show up". I would expect Shadow to show up in more like a 4th or 5th sequel, and since his background story in my opinion is quite rich. It's safe to say that I'd really like to have a pure Shadow sorta movie. Episode Shadow if you will. I'd sorta imagine his movie being a cross between his game, and SA2. And when his time comes, he needs his guns, he needs his trademark bike, and he needs to through out them mild swears like in his game ("Where's that *DAMN* fourth Chaos Emerald"). XD And I don't want him to work with the people who killed his 1st best friend, Maria. I know that in the comics he for some reason works with G.U.N. even though it really doesn't make sense for him to work with them at all. So I hope that he never works with them, unless they were pursuing the same type of goals, then maybe they could sorta work together, but not really. ¯\_(• ε •)_/¯

Nope, it doesn't need Shadow. The issue with the newer sonic games was the fact that Sonic Team kept throwing in new characters into the mix with little development. All they need to do is just focus on Sonic and Tails duo dynamic in the sequel. The first movie had successfully bought in new fans who have never played a sonic game. When Tails was revealed at the post credits, fans were excited but many adults and children had no idea who Tails was. So the focus should be on Sonic and Tails, plus the transformation of Robotnik. Knuckles should be a post credit scene for the second movie.

SONIC 2: Give us Knuckles & Metal Sonic as villains. Introduce the emeralds. Then have Knuckles change sides and team up with Tails to stop Robotnik (who has the emeralds) while Sonic battles Metal. SONIC 3: Now add Shadow and a major threat like Robotnik's Death Egg. Super Sonic debuts to save the day. SONIC 4: crossover with the mario universe ;)

It would be too much if they were to introduce Shadow so early on as an antagonist when we haven't gotten to see what Dr. Robotnik will be capable of when he returns. They still have to tackle the matter of the echidna clan that was hunting Sonic in his home world and the end of the move confirmed Tails for the sequel as he's looking for Sonic for whatever reasons and Knuckles wasn't introduced yet. Fun Fact: Sonic CD and Sonic 2 were being developed at the same time back in the early 1990s. Half of Sonic Team was in Japan working on Sonic CD with Naoto Ohshima directing that project and the other half of Sonic Team was in America with Yuji Naka, Hirokazu Yasuhara and Takashi Iizuka working on Sonic 2. But Sonic CD got delayed due to complications and Sonic 2 ended up being released before Sonic CD.

What I want in a sequel: Knuckles, Amy Rose, Tails and Metal Sonic. I think it would be better if Shadow has his own movie, sort of like a spinof and maybe even a cameo in the sonic movies. Dr. Robotnik could create metal Sonic and use the sonic quill to power metal sonic instead in the sequel.

In my opinion, I would prefer for Shadow to be in the 3rd movie and for Knuckles and Tails to be in the 2nd movie, with Knuckles playing the main antagonist for 2 reasons: They could have him get tricked by Eggman just like in Sonic 3 & Knuckles and also have some backstory and such on the attack of the Echinda tribe that happened in the beginning of the first movie. Honestly I don't think it does. AND DO I WANT to see Shadow. But I think we need to primarily focus on Tails becoming close to Sonic, and the beginning of the first movie set-up knuckles as well so I think between those two, the fact we'd want Robotnik back, and the introduction and story of the chaos emeralds, huge possibly of "Metal Sonic"-it is enough for one film. I do however, think they could easily introduce a small back-plot that'd lead to Robotnik making Shadow easily, and make a spin-off film for him being the main character. Then 3 can bring him in and the 3rd one should just be completely insane. Though I admit anything is possible, and I think despite enjoying the first movie it was a mistake to not bring tails in at least somewhere within the film not at the end for two seconds.

I think that the sonic movies should follow the chronology as such: Sonic 2, introducing Super Sonic and Tails, Sonic CD intriducing Amy and Metal Sonic, Sonic 3&K introducing Angel Island, The Master Emerald and hopefully Hyper Sonic (and with a few post-credit scenes before it teasing Knuckles), Sonic Adventure, introducing Chaos, Adventure 2 introducing Shadow and Rouge, Sonic 06 introducing (possibly) Mephiles Silver (of course, no Elise) and Blaze and Sonic Forces hopefully introducing Infinite. I skipped certain titles because I think that Paramount should, based in the titles I mentioned, set up a cinematic universe. Also, I would like Shadow to be voiced by Liam Neeson, Knuckles by his Sonic X voice actor, Amy by Emma Stone, Rouge by Scarlett Johanson, Silver by Future Trunks voice actor, Blaze by the actress that plays Android 18 in Dragon Ball, Mephiles by his OG voice actors, and same with Infinite. Most of what I've just said is impossible, but I can dream. But Super Sonic being introduced so early is also an impossibility because Sonic is op in his base form, so imagine Super and Hyper, and then the big shot characters like Silver Shadow Blaze Mephiles Infinite & Knuckles

The first movie gave us enough to hint at what kind of plot they’re going for Sonic 2, and Shadow is an entirely different story. I think that Hugh Jackman should voice Shadow cause Shadow is pretty much the Sonic franchise's Wolverine. Througth Nicolas Cage is a good option. And i agree, his storyline would already be too much for a first sequel. Maybe a third Sonic movie and a spin-off could pull the show off. But if CBR wants a true antagonist that could give Sonic a good fight, there's always Metal Sonic.

I am relatively certain that the sequel will be a modern/cinematic take on Sonic v. Knuckles. I feel like Knuckles will be set up as the antagonist for the sequel ~ not to mention Tails needs to be introduced. I feel Shadow will appear in the 3rd film - the director seemingly has no argument with creating a cinematic universe and a franchise is what Paramount needs. After Knuckles I could see Shadow being brought in because... well, it would be the logical next step.

No, it just needs to not fuck up Tails as a character, provide a valid crisis worthy of Tail's dialogue in the final scene of the first movie, explore Eggman's journey back to earth, and maybe introduce Amy the 3rd movie needs to introduce Knuckles, have "& Knuckles" in the title, take place away from Earth to show us more classic Sonic worlds and make them relevant, show us Super Sonic, and set-up Metal Sonic for a 4th movie if they keep this successful Extra Credit Trilogy 2: (I don't know Sonic canon lore too well but since these movies don't SEEM to be bound by it, I'll be taking liberties here) 1st movie uses Metal Sonic as a villain who Eggman programmed to defeat Sonic but it develops a personality and pride, resulting in him obeying his programming but also going rogue. He tries to defeat Sonic out of personal pride in his own superiority while defying slavery to Eggman while Sonic and friends struggle with the morality of destroying Metal Sonic who they eventually see as another Eggman victim. Movie 2 Is basically Sonic Adventure more or less. Chaos comes in etc. You know the story. Movie 3 is Sonic Adventure 2, where we introduce Shadow and end the trilogy after his sacrifice Done, no more movies. Know when to quit while things are good.

This scenario definitely betrays the storyline. I would wait on shadow to push a third movie containing only adventure content 1 & 2. The second movie should introduce the core knuckles, tails, eggman(robotnik) and the original nemesis metal sonic. Eggman had Sonic's dna when he was trapped on mushroom planet, why else should the story go a different route ? Also i agree that the 2nd movie should get rid of the earth scene until the 3rd movie which give shadow a better entrance into the movie, being that is where he was intergrated originally from the games. Assuming eggman has ran out of ideas to defeat sonic which propells him to summon shadow from the ark which is related to planet earth. 3rd movie should return them to earth which sonic obviously has a reason to return because of the donut lord(his human friend)

I prefer it like this Sonic 2: tails and knuckles Sonic 3:shadow and metal sonic Sonic 4: Amy and cream Edit: however I think to would have more sense to have him in sonic 3 if its many years later story wise, if not story wise it's his story being played then 4th or spin-off film

Amy came before Knuckles. She was introduced in Sonic CD. And Silver should be the last to come out to me.
