Wowzers! Thanks so much for sharing what you did. Amazing what you’re familia has acheived, given the restrictions. A bit surptised by some of the responses as it’s almost as if they were not listening to what you said. Just bought a 71, wich will be (at first) mild mannered, but hope to eventually apply some of the knowledge that you’ve instilled. !5 years ago, without internet knowledge, I built a 69 (1 car garage, I could barely open the doors enough to squeeze in) a n 11.6 121mph car. 383, but none of your restrictions. Wonder what it would have been with what you taught me, other info since learned, etc. Bravo to the maximus! Watched your other vids (Mom’s, Dad’s, friends Vette with stabbed in motor)…. You guys got it goin on!!!!!!!!!

@howabouthetruth2157
@howabouthetruth2157 5 күн бұрын
@@danmyers9372 I totally disagree. Mind you, this "FAST" class allows you to do ANYTHING you want with your engine, so long as the engine & entire car looks "factory" from the outside ( and naturally aspirated with factory exhaust manifolds of course ). At least one of the Mopar's that was running in this class was making just over 1000 HP at the crank........vs the 800 HP made by these punched out L88's........and they still can't touch these L88 Vette's. Hopefully the other guys are back at their shops doing some research & development to get back out there & be competitive in this class once again, because after all, every car owner/racer was good friends with their competitors, and would help each other out if they could. Sometime in the 90's, the factory stock class for closed road courses here in the states totally kicked the Corvette's out, for being too dominant. To be clear, that happened only in the factory-stock class. They had to literally create their own "factory Corvette class" in order to race. I think that's bullsh*t. But hell, NASCAR has been doing basically the same thing to various teams & auto makers all throughout the years: engineer an engine or race car that is dominating, and they make it illegal. And NO team or auto maker was immune: Chrysler, Ford, and GM have all made engines or race cars that were within the rules, yet suddenly deemed "illegal" by some stupid new rule, and forced out of NASCAR at one time or another. I've always been totally against that. Then there was an ever darker time in top fuel for NHRA..........there were those days if ya didn't have a Keith Black nitro engine, you didn't stand a chance at being competitive, and only a few teams could access the Keith Black engines. Now THAT was truly bad for the sport.

Jordan I’m curious what the weight difference is between your ‘67 C2 and your dad’s C3? Older dudes like myself that have been around for awhile know that stock Corvettes are not as light as many people think due go to all the bracing GM had to put in the cars to keep the fiberglass from flexing and cracking. And have all the other FAST competitors folded the tents? That’s not good for the class if so. The class can’t survive with just your families cars.

Evidently, it's become far too difficult, if not impossible, to beat this amazing family with their stable of dominating L88's. The 1000+ hp Hemi's can't even touch them.

@@danmyers9372 Well hopefully, the other teams & car owners are doing some serious research & development to get back out there to once again be competitive in this class. OK, I have to ask. In this garage with Corvettes and Camaros of the racing types what exactly is it that gives a vintage 80's Ford of some type, immobile and on jack stands, what allows it to take up valuable garage space? If you needed a place to lay things would it be better to just go to Lowes and get a folding leg table? Just asking (-:

So do you have a driveshaft sensor to monitor the amount of tire and/or converter slippage? I would think you guys would have to run a fairly loose converter to get that tiny street tire to hook. Obviously this would mean more slippage and some lost HP numbers and some lower mph up top as the trade off. Still wonder why you haven’t tried a slightly tighter converter with a trans dump valve to get it off the line. I’m glad to see you pulling the plugs vs relying on the O2 sensors. Plugs never lie like sensors csn!
