Yes, assuming you invest a 100 per month like you say, per 20 years That's 24,000 dollars I have invested. Let's assume I have a 10 percent growth on average with dividends reinvested, let's assume I have a Value of 80,000. You realize, I need at least 500,000 to make a small profit per week. That won't work

I started investing below the $100k mark and in the first 2 months, my portfolio was reading $234,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest a huge percentage of my profit and it got more interesting.! I was advised to diversify my portfolio among several assets such as stocks and bonds since this can protect my inherited portfolio of about $2.5m. I'm used to just buying and holding assets which doesn't seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I'm really worried about survival after retirement.

The thing to me is, if you invest and have other income outside of dividends then you will be able to live off dividends without selling. Which means you can pass that on to your kids which will give them a leg up in life. $52k dividends received in 2022.

I agree! That's why it is advisable that you have to invest while you still have a regular job or earning a regular income, and do it constantly. You still need to have something that will keep you going even if you're investing. Good financial planning and money allocation is the key.

The best course of action if you lack market knowledge is to ask a consultant or investing coach for guidance or assistance. That 15k a month though....assumes that you will be taking GROWTH AND the Dividend Yield. So while that is great, most people don't take the growth of the portfolio per se, but the yield itself....unless I am missing something at 3.41% yield off 2.6 million will get your about 85k per year. Still good, but not necessarily 185k.
